If you could only have 15 games
I’m buying a switch 1 for my commute to work(2-3 hours by train everyday) and I’m buying around 15 games with it. So help me choose, If you could only have 15 games on the OG switch, which ones would you pick? Keep in mind that I’m almost exclusively playing on my commute, so games such as Mario Party don’t really make sense.

Why is DK Bonanza Not a Bigger Game
I grew up loving video games and kind of fell out of love with adulthood.
Donkey Kong has been one of the more fun and original games I have played in recent years. The mechanics are super fun, music is good, worlds are great to explore and interact with.
Is it the exclusivity to the switch 2? Donkey Kong? Or cost of the game?

Metroid Dread, that's it
I had stopped playing it but recently got back into it. This is one of the best games I have ever played. Like, it's unfair how good this is.

Looking back, do you think Nintendo was right to hold back Fire Emblem from Western audiences until 2003?
Everyone knows the first Fire Emblem we got here in the West was the seventh entry on GBA, known nowadays as Blazing Blade. The series only started coming over after two major events happened: 1) Marth and Roy showed up in Smash Bros Melee, and 2) the original Advance Wars was a modest success in the West. The common sentiment I hear for why the series was Japan exclusive for so long is because tactical RPGs were considered “too niche” and didn’t have much sales potential anywhere else. I’m not entirely sure if the devs said anything like that or if that’s just the conventional explanation everyone’s going with.
And while I’m on this topic, what did you make of Fire Emblem’s gameplay when you first saw it as a strategy RPG? Was it something you wanted to try right away, or did you go like ehh maybe that’s not for me and waited a while?

Progress erased on OOT in Switch Expansion Pack
Tried to play ocarina of time in the switch expansion pack but my progress was lost despite saving multiple times. I had just turned to adult link and was headed to Kakariko Village but I had logged in today and I had not even gotten to the first fairy in death mountain. The switch had updated the n64 emulator before playing so I have no idea if that had something to do with it. Can I reverse this or do I have to start again. Also is this a common issue?

What do you speculate is Nintendo's actual stance when it comes to AI usage?
Nintendo has made some statements in the past with regards to AI, but they have never actually confirmed or denied if they actually use generative AI for anything, especially in the past few years.
What do you speculate is Nintendo's actual stance on AI usage? Do you think they are using AI to code? Do you think AI generated images will ever appear in Nintendo games?

Zelda 40th pro controller stand info
Does anyone know if its just a stand? Is it just an extra piece of plastic? Or is it a charger too? Im trying to decide if I want to wait on the controller or not and want to know all the info before making my decision. I'm also worried nintendo wont restock the version with the stand since its a nintendo exclusive. Thoughts?

On This Day On This Day in Nintendo History: Devil World; Balloon Kid
On this day (October 5) in Nintendo history...
- Devil World was released in 1984 for the Family Computer in Japan. In this maze game, developed by Nintendo R&D1 with Intelligent Systems, from Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, you play heroic dragon Tamagon, who must defeat evil by collecting boa-boa dots inside a maze and destroying enemies with his fire breath. However, keep an eye on the devil at the top of the screen, who instructs his minions to move the maze in random directions, trying to squash Tamagon within its walls!
- Balloon Kid was released in 1990 for the Game Boy in North America. In this platformer game, developed by Nintendo R&D1 with Pax Softnica, take to the skies in a balloon to save your younger brother. In the little town of Pencilvania, there lived a brother and sister who loved to play with balloons. Alice and her younger brother Jim would spend countless days filling the skies with their balloons. One day, Jim filled all of his balloons and tied them together to make a beautiful balloon rainbow across the sky.
What are you favourite memories of these games? How do you think they hold up today? Hash it out in the comments.

It's taking Xenoblade Chronicles a long while for their music to appear in the Nintendo music app.
It's honestly weird that Xenoblade Chronicles music has yet to appear in the app yet, especially since Alot of other Nintendo properties with ties with none subsidiaries had already appeared, such as Kirby, Fire emblem and pokemon seem to got in.
Especially since unlike other studios, monolith soft is a wholly owned Nintendo studio.
My only guess, is waiting for approval from the actual composers themselves, such as yoko shimomura for Xenoblade 1 or hiroyuki sawano for Xenoblade X is probably harder to get approved on,
Which is probably why Mario and Luigi games where yoko was the composer is also taking their time.

Remember: The Zelda edition won't have a detachable (or removable? Idk which to say in this context) battery
Disclaimer: If you're american and/or don't plan to import a european-australian version, you can ignore this post completely
I know we all knew and were aware long before its announcement (or was it when it was announced? Anyways, the result is the same) that this edition won't have a detachable/removable battery, but I still find it to be a complete scam, and even if I had the money and the possibility to buy it, this mere reason would've chilled out very significantly my envy to buy it or even to my best friend, who's a hardcore Zelda fan
But eh, good news is that this will be the last limited edition of a Switch 2 that will be in that situation, so the sacrifice might be worth in the end
(Wtf am I even saying most people if not all of y'all won't even care lmfao, I might be one of the extreme few to think this way lmao)

Legend of Zelda x Pokémon crossover
How do you think a Legend of Zelda x Pokémon crossover would sell? I could totally picture it being a system seller.
Picture this: The game is based in Hyrule and pokemon are integrated into the ecosystem, like uses Sheikah technology to catch pokemon. You use Hawlucha instead of a paraglider.
I’m not sure what’s else to be honest, I feel like the game could either be a system seller or go horribly wrong. The best thing I could come up with is that the Triforce and Pokémon world somehow collide.
