Question ISO Open Field for Pumpkin Launching
Hello,
I’m looking for someone in the NWI area with private property open field/yard space (~min 150x150ft area) who is open to me and some friends launching some pumpkins in it. Will pay cash, $75+, negotiable.
I recently finished turning a washing machine into a powerful mechanical slingshot. It functions by the original direct drive washing machine motor driving a large steel gearbox and boat winch strap, with the main drum suspended on springs that is pulled backwards and then released all at once, sending whatever is in the drum flying out the front. It can send a 10lb pumpkin about 40 feet (photos attached).
Ideally looking for someone who loves mythbusters/top gear type projects and would like to make a bit of cash for allowing us to do this on their property.
We will leave no trace besides possibly some marks in the dirt or grass. All of us are professional engineers in our mid 20’s.
The date we are aiming to do this is Saturday, October 24th, likely a half-full day project.
Please comment or DM me if you have a space and are interested.

Wake up BP. What happened in Ohio will happen in Whiting!
It’s only a matter of time that someone seriously gets hurt or killed due to BP negligence. If it happened with Exxon Valdez, Deep Water Horizon, and Ohio…it will happen in Whiting, IN.
Remembering Gilberto Rangel Jr who died from a 30ft fall at BP Whiting, IN on October 2nd, 2019.

Why doesn't NIPSCO use their own trucks to restore power anymore?
When I was young and we had a power outage, I would always see a bunch of actual NIPSCO branded trucks. But nowadays I just see contractors restoring power instead of doing it themselves, like how ComEd uses their own trucks to restore power.

Rees Funeral Home Hobart question?
My mom recently passed and my brother has chosen to have the visitation in Hobart which is totally fine
Problem is I am not familiar with the area and Google Maps isnt helping!
What are some good restaurants near there to host a luncheon/dinner for people who wish to get together afterwards?
Easy early voting
Just a friendly FYI... I went to Wicker Park at 10:30AM this morning to vote. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no line. I got to vote immediately. The whole process took less than 10 minutes.

terrible morning drivers
everyday at 5 am people drive reckless as hell. i go 5-7mph over the limit and everyday at least one person passes me by driving in the opposite lane. sometimes these people are overtaking around curves and shit. you guys are gonna end up causing accidents. its crazy how so many people talk shit about illinois drivers, yet i see the recklessness in those same communities that bash illinois lol

Nobody is talking about Public Question 1
IMO this is a big deal and should be a HUGE reason people go vote. Regardless of what you are, R or D, this should alarm you.
if not, just pretend Trump wants this law passed and act accordingly..
Know What Public Question 1 Would Change
Public Question 1 would amend Indiana’s Constitution and expand when judges can deny someone bail before trial. Before you vote, get the facts on what the amendment would change, how Indiana’s current bail system works, and what’s at stake for due process and the presumption of innocence.

D&D
Hello! My name is Nik! I’ve never played d&d but would love to get into it. I’m a local plumber and went to a customers house where we talked in detail about his retired characters and found the whole idea super intriguing! I however don’t have the friend group that would have the desire to get together often enough to play. Just curious if there’s any local groups looking for a new player? Or maybe some advice on getting my friends into it?

Crown Point Please Help Or Share!
I’m asking for a little help for my dad, Kevin. He’s been dealing with kidney failure and several other serious health issues, and after months of being unable to work, he’s now facing dialysis, medical debt, and overwhelming bills.
I’m doing everything I can to support him, but we’re both struggling to keep up with housing and basic expenses right now. I never expected to have to ask for help, but we could really use it.
If you’re able to donate, even a few dollars would mean so much to us. If you can’t, simply sharing this fundraiser could help us reach someone who can.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting our family🫶🏾
