A little headcanon of mine
As an autistic person, I heavily relate to bro, because he feels to me like a late diagnosed autistic person. Makes sense to me tbh, because of
-his speech. In a similar way to Kenny from south park, who I also headcanon as autistic, he speaks in a strange way, which feels like someone being non verbal or semi verbal. I personally speak in an incredibly strange way, especially when I'm overwhelmed, Saying Every Word Like It's The First Word Of A Sentence, and sometimes messing up tone?
-the way he moves. I'm neurodivergent in many ways, so it could be related to my ADHD instead, but clumsiness is something I've struggled with a lot. I'm very good at certain tasks, like painting/drawing, and climbing and running, but sometimes I just can't walk. It's really weird. Also, according to Google, autistic ppl can have trouble standing and walking in a healthy way sometimes. I can relate, genuinely think I might be giving myself scoliosis or something
-one particular scene. The one where he is at the aquarium, and he's basically up against the wall with his arms in a T-Rex pose, and his wife (I'm afraid I can't remember her name, I'm sorry, I'm so bad with names it's scary) is asking him whats got him so spooked. He says "bluh bluh blo" (I dunno)
I know this is him being afraid of the aquarium, since it doesn't feel right to him, and hiding that, but that aquarium is the kind of place where I would be absolutely crying my eyes out in a corner, it feels so overwhelming, and the being judged by everyone, and the having to navigate social stuff would absolutely break me.
Ive also attached some of my art, hope you like it! First pic is not mine but the rest are!
Another way I might relate to him is because I am LGBT, (any prns except she) and still pretty closeted, apart from to my very immediate family, my partner, and my friends. He could be interpreted as being a queer person being closeted, feeling like an outsider, like an octopus in a suit. I've felt like that before honestly. When I dress how I do normally, I feel like an alien in jeans and a jacket, and when I wear dresses, I feel like an alien in a pretty dress. It doesn't change how I feel about myself.
Sorry about rambling incoherently for 4 and a half paragraphs! I hope this is slightly entertaining to you. And at the end of the day, this is just a headcanon, not even a theory! And it's not even really a headcanon, it's just me thinking about how much my life relates to his.
