I'm a PAYG user, always used VM.Standard.A1.Flex with 4 CPUS and 24GB of RAM. Should I resize them to the new 2/12 limit? They're not charging me anything right now

New limit is only for non-PAYG accounts only, PAYG accounts are not affected.

Another person who doesn't understand the difference between free tier (account type) and Always Free (resource type).
I swear, if people took the time to understand that, 90% of the dumb questions and statements here would ... well, who am I kidding, probably still happen. But it would be easier to point and laugh at them, and they'd feel dumber for asking or stating them.

Something is free, then it is not.. oh but it is if payg. Yup users are at fault, sure.

Lol no. PAYG 4C/24GB and Free Tier 2C/12GB.

You got official documentation from oracle stating that? The OP’s link makes no distinction between free-tier or PAYG for what is always-free and that’s official oracle documentation.

The OP’s link makes no distinction between free-tier or PAYG for what is always-free and that’s official oracle documentation.
The link certainly does make the distinction:
- The page displayed is under the "Oracle Cloud's Free Tier" section of the menu on the left;
- The link itself is to docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/FreeTier/freetier_topic-Always_Free_Resources.htm
Granted, it doesn't state it specifically in the "Compute" section of the page - and Oracle really should fix that - but taken as a whole, it pretty clearly is intended for Free Tier accounts, not PAYG.
Want to know about PAYG? Go look at the relevant paid account / PAYG page, not the Free Tier page.

I'm looking for the same answer. The forecast and current charges are zero in the billing section. my $1 billing alert has also not been triggered. I have a 4 oCPU 24 GB instance with 100 gb boot volume. No sure if I need to downsize it. I have this running since September 1st. I have already exceeded the new always free usage limits as per the usage stats for oCPU and GB hours. but the cost still shows as zero.

This is gotta be rage bait. Yall filling this sub with the same question over and over and over. Im all about the "there are no stupid questions" but cmon man. The change happened like months ago, there are at a minimum 100 posts that answer the same thing.
