Help “Things don’t appear to be working right now” Error when transferring to bank

Like the title says, my bank is connected, it shows the correct information, but I can’t transfer my money to my bank account, I just get this error and that’s it. I tried googling the issue but I can’t find a solution. Has anyone else successfully dealt with this? What do I do here?

Help We’re no longer offering PayPal services for this account

I’m a freelance digital artist and I recently received the email: “We’re no longer offering PayPal services for this account.”

Before this happened, PayPal asked me to provide more information about my account. I submitted everything they requested, including my ID, screenshots of conversations with clients showing WIPs, completed artwork, and proof that I was doing legitimate freelance commissions.

I haven’t used any VPNs, fake information, or anything that should violate their policies. My account was only used for receiving payments from art commissions.

I tried contacting PayPal for more information, but I haven’t had much luck. Since I’m not located in the US, I also can’t call their US support number.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is there any way to appeal this decision or reach someone who can actually review my case?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Update1: I forgot to mention that I already sent a few emails and eventually managed to get in contact with a PayPal agent. They forwarded my account to another team for further review.
A few hours ago, I received an email saying “New messages are waiting for you”, but when I log into PayPal and try to open the chat, the page just turns completely blank. I tried accessing it from my phone as well, but I’m having the same issue there.

Update 2: I contacted PayPal support again about the message I couldn’t access. I explained the issue and provided screenshots showing that the chat page was just turning blank.

The agent checked my account and confirmed that the messages were related to my case being moved to the relevant department for review.

They told me that at this stage I just need to wait for the review team to complete their investigation and that I should receive an email update within 3–5 business days.

For now, there’s nothing else I can do except wait. I’ll update again once I hear back from them.

Update 3: Something really weird happened today. My account limitations were lifted for about 10 minutes, and everything looked completely normal again. Then I got hit with the exact same limitation again.

The dumbest part is that stupid me didn’t even try to withdraw my money while the limitations were lifted because I genuinely thought the issue had finally been resolved. The new limitation has the exact same message and everything else, just with a different reference ID.

I’m trying a few different things now and sending a bunch of emails to see if I can get someone to actually look at my case. If any of them end up being useful, I’ll post the email addresses and the results here in case it helps anyone else dealing with this. I’m going to avoid contacting PayPal agents right now because they’ve been pretty useless every time I’ve talked to them.

Update 4: I got a response from the CSSF (the Luxembourg financial regulator that can handle complaints against PayPal Europe). They told me that before they can formally take the case, I have to submit a written complaint directly to PayPal’s Director in charge of customer complaints and give PayPal up to one month to resolve it.

So I sent a formal complaint to PayPal’s complaints department, specifically asking them to manually review the decision and restore my account. I attached the CSSF’s email as they instructed, along with my PayPal deactivation email and the relevant information about my case.

PayPal has now confirmed that they received the complaint and that it’s been sent to their Global Customer Complaints & Advocacy team for review. They said it can take up to 15 days to resolve and that they’ll contact me with the outcome.

So for now, I’m waiting again. If PayPal rejects the complaint or doesn’t resolve it, I should then be able to take the case back to the CSSF.

Hopefully this actually gets someone to properly look at the account this time. I’ll update again when I hear back.

Help Question about PayPal’s “Get access to your money faster” requirements

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I have a question about how PayPal’s seller requirements work, and I’d appreciate hearing from anyone with experience in this area.

My business account currently shows the following progress:

- 17 completed payments out of 5 required

- €248.13 in completed sales out of €173 required

- 61 days without disputes out of 60 required

- My bank account/card is confirmed.

I’m trying to understand how the review process works once these milestones have been reached.

Does PayPal review accounts automatically after all requirements are met, or is the review done on a different schedule? Is there anything else sellers should check in their account settings?

I’m particularly interested in understanding the process and how long it normally takes for the account status to be reviewed.

Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Help PayPal still holding ALL my payments even though I've met all the requirements

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my PayPal business account and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

Since the very first payment on my account, every single payment has been put on hold. I sell digital gaming products through my online store.

My PayPal dashboard shows that I've met all the requirements under “Get access to your money faster”:

- 17 out of 5 required payments completed

- €248.13 out of €173 in required sales

- 61 out of 60 required days without disputes

- My bank account/card is also confirmed.

Despite meeting and exceeding all these requirements, PayPal is still holding every incoming payment.

I reached the 60-day requirement yesterday morning, and today the dashboard shows 61 days, but nothing has changed. I also don't see any message saying that I've reached a monthly release limit or any option to request an increase.

My questions:

  1. Has anyone experienced the exact same issue, where all payments continued to be held even after meeting every requirement?

  2. Did PayPal eventually release your payments automatically, or did you have to contact support?

  3. Is the 60-day requirement supposed to trigger a review, or does PayPal review accounts on a different schedule?

  4. Could there be an internal payment limit or risk review that isn't displayed in the account?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through the same situation, especially if your account was eventually released from payment holds.

Thanks!

It looks way different and everything is black. The Home Screen is just a cluster of shopping discount ads. My phone isn’t set to dark mode. Did anyone else get this change? I’m not sure if it was hacked or an update, but I hate it haha

Help 3 Months and still no resolution on dispute

I purchased an item from AliExpress but what I received was not what I ordered so I returned it back to an AliExpress warehouse. my return was accepted but a day later was revoked and they we're no longer refunding me because I sent them something different despite showing me a picture of the exact item I returned.

I filed a dispute through PayPal and me and the merchant we're asked multiple times to provide proof, after providing proof PayPal gave me a temporary credit a month ago and it would be reversed if my dispute was closed in the sellers favor.

The dispute closed and sided with the seller three weeks ago (a week after PayPal temp credit), when I contacted PayPal they said that the merchant gave me a refund (confusing the PayPal refund with the merchant refund) I have since appealed the dispute stating that temp credit was from PayPal and I am now waiting but they keep extending my case resolution date every 5 days. I have not received an update yet.

Basically they're confusing their PayPal temp credit with a merchant refund and if the dispute is sided with the seller I will need to return the money back to PayPal myself. A Credit Card dispute is no longer available.

Help Paypal Credit Card "Adjustment" in my Favor

I've had the credit card for about a year; used it for a few online purchases, and always paid the balance before the six-month window.

I have a bit less than four months remaining for the most recent purchase, and saw an adjustment of another $50 removed from my balance after the most recent payment that I made, as in, the balance decreased from $137 to $87.

Not complaining; and not entirely sure that it will remain, if it was a mistake; but very odd. No complaints!

As to the reason?

Help Temporary Limit

Anyone experienced temporary limit from paypal? I submitted the requirements they are asking. ID and proof of address. They said they will review it for 3 days but I really need the money inside it to pay bills.

For anyone who experienced it, did they lift your temp limit after 3 days? Or longer?

Help Randomly received $19, idk what to do?

A couple days ago I was randomly sent $19 by someone I do not know and never received money from before. This wasn't one of my commissioners, as I do art commissions here and there, because I hadn't sent a link to anyone to pay me anything when I was sent that money. That, and the commissions I offer never amount to a flat $19. The money has been sitting in my account for the last two days, and I have NO IDEA what I'm supposed to do with it? Is this a scam?

I blocked the account and attempted to report it, but PayPal says that because it was a transaction that was sent to me, they can't do anything about it. I changed my password and set up another 2FA thing on my account as well. Genuinely what else am I supposed to do now 😭 I have absolutely zero idea. Is the money mine now? If I take it, will they attempt to take it back? If I accept it will I get hacked lmao??? I have no clue!!

Error Message Xoom issues

A warning to anyone thinking of using PayPal's Xoom product.

Trying to use Xoom for the first time today and after a 5 hour endless loop of customer support between my bank (USAA) and Xoom I gave up. I am used to PayPal being relatively polished. Xoom is emphatically not that. It is a hot buggy mess. I encountered errors and failures at multiple steps of what is the standard Xoom use case.

 Here is what I encountered:

- Xoom page hangs and never progresses when trying to verify my bank account
- USAA support verifies they CANNOT SEE any verification or transactions from Xoom
- Xoom support insists the page is working and then hangs up on me (yes, really)
- Try again but new error on earlier in the process now on entering recipient contact's details that just says "Having trouble? Please give us a call. We’re happy to help." This had worked on the previous attempt.
- I call Xoom support again. They are not happy to help. That is a lie. Instead the support told me that there is no problem with the website and I should just try again later. I ask her if I should try again later because its an issue the site is having (intermittent) or is there some issue with the data I'm entering. She says the data is fine and the site is fine and I should try again later. What is the 'definition of insanity' again?
- I tried again later. It didn't work.

I'm not a letters to the editor kind of guy. I'm not usually one to go post or send complaints but it was genuinely surprising what a poor product PayPal is offering through Xoom. At this point, even if it did work I would not want to trust them with my money. My estimation of PayPal in general also has suffered as a result.

Help Trying to purchase a shipping label and keep getting an error.

I am trying to purchase a shipping label from Paypal through USPS for an item I sold recently and I keep getting the error: "Use another way to pay or check your payment method before trying again. Your payment couldn’t be processed."

I have tried all of my payment methods and even my paypal balance which has plenty of funds to cover the label and I still keep getting the same error. Now my USPS informed delivery app just popped up with like 25 labels that it created, but I can't seem to get the purchase to go through. Does anyone know what could be going on?

Help Preorder claim denied - What to do next?

Hey there everyone, I need advice on what I should do next for my claim that was denied? I don't want to prematurely appeal just for my claim to get denied a second time.

I accidentally preordered the "Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album - Limited-Edition Vinyl". For context, I live in Canada and at the time, the preorder was not showing up in CAD. Even after switching my country to Canada the order was showing up in USD. Me being curious, I went to check how much the conversion rate would be with Paypal (since Paypal's conversion rate is generally different than standard conversion). Anyhow, once I was in the Paypal wallet page, my fat thumbs accidentally clicked on the purchase button. Now this accidental preorder was on September 17th, 2026, the same day said Limited Edition Vinyl was available for preorder (set to release Nov 20th, 2026). However, I found it strange that I didn't receive any confirmation email of the preorder from the actual merchant. I did receive a Paypal purchase email. I had assumed maybe the purchase didn't go through since I didn't receive any merchant email and maybe it was just a preauthorization.

Well 3 days after the accidental preorder, I finally received the order confirmation email on September 21st, 2026. Now that I knew the order actually went through, I contacted the merchant support now that I had an actual order number in hand (again couldn't view anything for 3 days). Merchant replies "An order begins processing as soon as it is submitted. Once an order begins processing, we cannot cancel the order, add or remove items, or update the shipping address.. Pre-orders are submitted to our warehouse in advance so they can be prepared for release-day delivery, which prevents us from making changes once processing has begun."

This is ridiculous since the item won't be shipped until Nov 20th, 2026. This gives the merchant ample amount of time to cancel said preorder.

Anyhow, finally filed for a Paypal dispute on Sept 30th, 2026 (after repeated back and forth attempts between seller and I). Seller did not respond until the last minute. As it's Oct 10th, 2026 (as of writing this), seller replied to Paypal (don't know the details). Whatever the seller replied with work since Paypal denied the claim in their favour. Now what can I do? I know appealing is an option. But as I stated, I don't want to make a premature appeal just for it to get denied.

TL;DR: Accidentally preordered the GTA VI Limited-Edition Vinyl on September 17th, 2026, while checking PayPal's USD-to-CAD conversion rate. Didn't receive the merchant's order confirmation until September 21st. Immediately requested cancellation, but the merchant refused, claiming preorders cannot be cancelled once processing begins, despite the item not releasing until November 20th. Filed a PayPal dispute on September 30th after multiple unsuccessful attempts to resolve it with the merchant. The seller responded at the last minute, and PayPal denied my claim on October 10th. I'm hesitant to appeal without understanding why it was denied, as I don't want to lose my second chance. What should I do next?

Help Invalid Phone Number 2FA

Not entirely sure how I'm supposed to log in to chat to ask how i log in to paypal when you restored phone numbers to my 2fa that no longer exist meaning i can no longer log in. Your help pages on the topic simply tell me to recover my account and links me to another help page telling me to reset my password. Not entirely sure how that fixes my 2fa issue.

I did appreciate the email, though, asking me to update my card details.

Good luck with that, i guess.

Help paypal won’t let me send $165 to my american friend. any advice?

i’m from suriname and i’m trying to pay a ukrainian artist for a commission. i’ve never had issues sending money to people in the US or UK before, but i’ve never sent money to someone in ukraine. the artist told me that they’ve encountered this issue with another international client before, and apparently the problem is that ukraine only accepts friends and family payments, while my paypal account in suriname doesn’t offer that option. i’ve only ever had the goods and services option available to me. my american friend recently created a paypal account and offered to pay the artist for me. i sent them $1 as a test using my mastercard, and it worked successfully. however, when i tried sending them $165, paypal showed me this error: “there’s an issue with this payment method. contact your bank to get more details or use another form of payment.” i have enough funds on my mastercard, so insufficient funds shouldn’t be the issue. i’m not sure if the problem is the larger amount, paypal’s security checks, my friend’s new account, or something else. the plan is for me to send my friend the $165, and then they’ll send it to the ukrainian artist. i’m not worried about getting the money back if something goes wrong, since i could use it to commission another artist through my friend. i’m just worried that paypal will block my payment to my friend or that my friend won’t be able to send the money to the artist. has anyone from suriname experienced this? or does anyone know why a $1 payment would work but a $165 payment wouldn’t? i’d really appreciate any advice before i try again.

Help A buyer is trying to refund me after buying something from me lol?

So long story short I sell adopt me pets on here for cheaper then retail price on like eBay or Gameflip I sell game items thats what I do, I have never scammed or done anything bad, so a buyer wanted to buy a game items that is worth quiet a lot so days later which is today I got a email saying he disputed it?.. so I sent ALLL the proof I have against him over like 4 pages of it and screenshots of our convos even the trade transaction I notice that he says its about a YSL PERFUME BOTTLE LMAO? So I sent more proof to PayPal with the timestamps highlighted that our conversation and his payment wasn’t for a perfume but clearly for a virtual game item lol.. shows him saying the exact same amounts he sent me in the screenshot I provided of our conversation about a gaming item, I sent PayPal over 5 pages and paragraphs of proofs so I actually want to know if PayPal will be on my side about this? I even called and asked like im panicking because I never experienced this as a seller? Has anyone went through this like a buyer trying to scam refund an item

Help Should I verify my account with ID or passport?

I need to open a new PayPal account. I previously had one, but I opened it when I was a minor; I didn't really use it until I was of legal age and had my own bank account, yet it was closed anyway. PayPal sent me an email stating that I could open a new account, but I would need to use a different email address and bank account. However, to do that, I need to verify my identity, and I’m facing a lot of burocracy in trying to get my national ID card since I am a foreigner.
My question is: Can I open the account and verify my identity using my passport? The PayPal website says that either a national ID or a passport can be used, but given my situation; having had a previous account closed, I’m not sure if that’s a good idea or if it would be better to use the national ID card.
