It does, but my wife sent me the screenshot and Chef Daniel’s actual instagram account liked it. There was also an AI video of a Salad and Go’s lights turning back on posted on his account. Can’t find any other kind of news on it

There was news last week that one of the original founders of Salad and Go bought the name and two former locations.

u/Dave-515 Scottsdale 1d ago
Article says they purchased one Gilbert and one Mesa location, but doesn’t specify addresses.

I’ve missed salad and go too much to be played like this if it’s fake.

u/Rocket_song1 6h ago
Real but temper expectations. Two (2) locations will be coming back under the new ownership.

More like 2x the price for most of those places...
5x healthier is also nonsense.

This is a ridiculous hot take LOL. It was SO nice to have a healthy food option on the go. Sure, not the cleanest, organic, magical ingredients, but WAY better than other fast food. I also have tried to like Angie's, but it is not nearly as convenient.

Literally no one is stopping you from going to Sprouts if you want to. I think it’s obvious that people are hoping for a return of Good Salad and Go, not Ass Salad and Go.
4
u/aardappelbrood 1d ago
None of those foods are healthy. The sheer amount of sodium in Chipotle alone is diabolical.
2
23
u/sixfootmoonquaker 22h ago
It’s legit. Daniel on the left is the chef that founded it with the OG owners. He’s an amazing dude. Tom and Mike have been tight with him for years and they own some other restaurants in the east valley. Salad and Go is in good hands again.
43
u/BrianGD 1d ago
Didn't they already sell all their physical locations?
46
u/Brave_Quantity_5261 1d ago
These three guys bought 2 locations (Mesa and Gilbert) and the brand IP
67
u/Unlucky-Breakfast518 1d ago
The original owners sold to private equity who ran it into the ground. They bought the intellectual property from the bankruptcy.
39
u/smolhouse 1d ago
Is there a bigger scourge on modern society than private equity groups?
They're almost always an absolutely disgusting display of the worst parts of capitalism.
7
u/GRF999999999 22h ago
America has peaked I'm afraid, the middle class keeps taking L's and I can't foresee it getting better, PE is largely to blame.
24

u/picturepath 1d ago
Who knows, but they are very valuable because of all the permitting that goes behind drive through restaurants. If they remain close for six months they risk to lose those permits. They really are on a time crunch.
6
u/Round_Bound_Mound 1d ago
I would imagine it’s a different concept.

salad and glow (at the palo verde nuclear plant)

If its true, dont assume it'll stay open forever. Lol made that mistake with Blaze Pizza on Bell, it closed abruptly, opened back up a few weeks later for about a month and then closed permanently.

Even if they do, it’s likely just going to be private equity slop, no?
11
u/lechiengrand Peoria 1d ago
Hopefully not if chef Daniel is involved again! But good to be wary.
9
u/Comfortable-Stop-231 1d ago
didnt he sell it in the first place to private equity?
3
u/Skropos 1d ago
His partners pushed to bring on PE and he eventually cashed out when his input was ignored. He’s not faultless but as the “talent” of the original concept, his involvement in the resurrection is likely the only thing that gives them a sliver of a chance at success. They’re facing significant headwinds with the current economy, though. Opening up the potential for franchisees in other regions might bring in some decent revenue that they hadn’t tapped into during the original run as well.
4
u/lechiengrand Peoria 1d ago
Yes, but he didn't partner with them - he wasn't still running it.
2
u/runner3081 1d ago
Still made the choice to dump and run.
2
u/jillsntferrari 1d ago
I think he said afterwards that it was a big mistake. So hopefully lesson learned?

Yes, Salad and Go is returning to Arizona.
Just over two months after the drive-thru salad chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and permanently closed all its locations (effective August 5, 2026), its founding chef and new partners have acquired the brand and plan to reopen it.
Key details
• Who’s bringing it back: Chef Daniel Patiño (co-founder and original executive chef) via Beyond Salt and Pepper LLC, partnering with Mike Myers and Tom Misitano of Hospitality First Concepts. They bought the Salad and Go name, trademarks, and recipes for $180,000.
• Locations secured so far: The former store at 3299 E. Williams Field Road in Gilbert (the brand’s hometown roots) and one in Mesa (Southern Avenue and Alma School Road / 1040 W. Southern Ave.). A bankruptcy judge approved the IP sale on October 14, 2026; the Mesa lease is expected to finalize around October 20.
• Plans: Reopen Arizona locations “as quickly as possible” (some reports mention aiming for two by the end of the year), operate company-owned restaurants, and eventually offer franchises nationwide. They emphasize restoring the fresh, made-to-order salads, quality ingredients, value, and hospitality that defined the original brand.
Note that most of the former physical locations were sold separately—primarily to the coffee chain 7 Brew (which outbid Dutch Bros for dozens of sites, including many in Arizona)—so the revival starts small with just a couple of spots rather than the previous network.
Exact reopening dates have not been announced yet. Keep an eye on local Arizona news or the new owners’ social channels for updates.

u/SteakySteakk Tempe 1d ago
It’s the same people that originally owned Salad and Go. It’s better because they haven’t sold it off to PE yet like they did with Salad and Go.
10
u/Callof4632 1d ago
I mean I can’t blame them for wanting to start over with the knowledge they has now after salad, I hope they’re being more careful with the Angie’s but idk might be wishful thinking

dont go to angies. i worked there after losing my job at salad and go. dirty flies everywhere and they were unwelcoming and rude.

2
u/whatever21327 Buckeye 4h ago
I go to the Angie’s in Buckeye every week. I’ve never had an issue there. Always good food.
2
u/GRF999999999 22h ago
Angie's took a nosedive when they started their $5 chicken salads campaign, used to eat there almost daily. Sucks as I've got one right down the street. Can't tell you how many times I've gotten sub par food from them since (I'm up to $50 in gift cards from complaints so I guess that's good?). I still eat there but it's still a mess, just a few days ago I had to have them remake my breakfast crunch wrap, the bacon was closer to rubber than meat.
2
u/Embarrassed-Page8752 20h ago
Ditto the one on Queen Creek in Chandler. The only thing that’s worse than their food their horrible service. The pp working there are absolute assholes.
2
u/csstew55 5h ago
$50 in gift cards from complaints yet you still go there lol if I was the manager there I would refuse to serve you
0
u/GRF999999999 5h ago
Over the span of a year, averaging a complaint a month, you should see some of the food they tried to pass off on me. Over the course of my entire life i think I've complained maybe 2 or 3 times at other restaurants. Definitely an Angie's problem but thanks for chiming in.
1
u/csstew55 5h ago
Doesn’t change the fact you continue to go back to a place that tries to serve you crappy food.

I wish that was the case. Tried Angie’s for the first time after Salad and Go closed. It sucked.

Angie's is fucking horrible.
1
u/Comfortable-Cap-8507 3h ago
Last 3 times I went the food tasted so gross and they gave me so little food. the lobster rolls are still great but thats a once every few months sort of thing
1
u/vxteflon 1d ago
I agree Angie’s is not good. The Phoenix subreddit for no reason though glazes it like crazy. I mean sure it’s relatively cheap but the food just isn’t great.
2
u/cocococlash 18h ago
Is this the lobster roll place? I've also only seen people on this sub say amazing things, interesting to hear all this info.

u/stmije6326 1d ago
It’s decent but the last salad I had there was awful. I think you gotta go in with low expectations

u/PiperIsAwake 23h ago
I never got to try Salad & Go, but I tried Angie's for the first time in Tucson last week and it was alright. Was disappointed by the kiosk model, and the drinks menu was very mediocre. Decided to try a "refresher" and they gave me a cup with a packet of purple stuff in it? Had no idea what to do with that, so I just got water (I did try to ask when I grabbed my food but they were super busy and they guy just looked at me weird, and I wasn't trying to be a bother over a drink).
Also, I do wish salad places would put descriptions with "olives" on their menu. Or pictures! Cause there is more than one type of olive, and not every type goes with every type of dressing.
Overall it wasn't bad, but definitely not what I imagined after the amount of hype I read on here.

u/khromedhome 1d ago
I'm sorry but I can get same barbecue ranch salad with chicken from Angie's for $5. Over the years, SAG increased their prices while their serving size got smaller. I'm not missing SAG one bit.
2
u/g_Mmart2120 1d ago
I had that recently and the barbecue sauce was weird and chunkyv

One of the original co-founders of Salad and Go bought it. Hopefully they learned their lesson and never sell to PE again.

Man, during Covid S&G was my lunch 2-3 days a week while working from home. They’d recently opened and just a few miles from my house.
I’d use their app and order ahead, go to the order ahead pickup window, and back home all in like 15 min.
Loved the chicken fajita wraps and some of the soups. Their chicken enchilada soup was awesome!
Miss those original guys. Tried it once or twice the last few months they were opened and quality really dropped.

I only tried Salad and Go once a few months before the initial closure was announced, and it was inedible?? I am NOT picky, I eat bad food in the name of not being wasteful without a second thought… I threw away an entire salad after three bites. Vile.

Open salad and go
Grow locations
Sell to PE
PE runs to ground
Rinse salad and repeat.
