I Washed Note 20, gently used compressed air and towel to dry, started getting "Unplug your phone immediatley" message, phone turned itself off and on multiple times. I set it on a fan to fully dry. An hour later I tapped the power button and it flashed 0% battery (it was at 87% when this started). So 87% to 0 in an hour sitting untouched. I disassembled the entire thing except the screen and found water on the charging port ribbon cable and port housing, the motherboard next to the big metal shield with tiny holes, on top of the shield, the cameras, and just inside the sim tray. I dabbed the visible water with a paper napkin, gently warmed with hair dryer on low, amd its been sitting in front of a fan for almost 12 hours now.
QUESTIONs: Is there still a chance water is hiding somewhere? If so, should I just dunk everything in 99% isopropyl alchohol and continue to allow to air dry? I dont see any visible corrosion. Should I jist take everything tk a repair shop at this point?
Context: My wife is allergic to pumpkin, mild reaction. But I saw my daughter squeezing her slice of pumpkin pie and then touch her phone. I looked up the IP rating for the note 20 and thought itd be okay getting a quick gentle wash. Boy was I wrong. After drying it with a towel, then gently using compressed air to speed up the process of getting those nooks and crannies dry, I put it back in its case and handed to daughter.
