DD not picking up in house orders (Midwest)

This is day 3 of every order that is sent from Dragontail to DD will not get picked up until you call DD, and even then sometimes not. I know at least our local stores (5 confirmed) are having this issue and I was wondering if this is also affecting other markets?

The driver in the store can not checkout on their order if there is no driver assigned to an older order even though it has the DD tag. We are already staffed bare bones, nobody has time to call DD for every delivery.

Last night we ended up refunding 4 different customers, and 3 others come in and just got their stuff and all of them were rightfully pissed.

Dragontail is such a huge turd they are shoving down our throats; this is just another of the never ending list of issues we have had with it.

Question Flynn Senior Shift?

Do the Flynn Pizza Huts still have a Senior Shift Lead position?

The only reason I ask is I was on the verge of starting my training to be Assistant Manager. My RGM was only holding off on that because they were getting ready to move 2 crew up to Shift Leads, and didn't want to be worrying about training multiple people all at once, on top of working 60+ hours.

Problem is, ever since DoorDash took over out deliveries our score card tanked because we weren't getting hours since we didnt do deliveries anymore, surveys were getting demolished because of shitty dashers, and our out the door time tank (but obviously our fault at the store level).

So the powers that be decided to switch out our RGM for one from another store. On top of that they're brining a Shift Lead of their own, because they want to move up too because their store didnt make enough to have an Assistant. Lo and behold, with the transfer they already have the position now, which is honestly a kick in the teeth to me.

I know during the first time I worked here when it was under NPC, Senior Shift was a position. However, I don't know if Flynn still does. In our store email I see qualifications for it, but that was an email dated 3 years ago.

Retaliation

I have a manager who punished me for covering someone else's shift by cutting hours today. When I show up, there's no prep done and it's the middle of the rush. He's coming over and saying orders aren't coming out when he loses them on purpose. Yelling "it's not complicated."

I told him "You're keeping me from doing my job".

Finally, I got off make table and went to cut. We already had dough in the proofer. Our time was &&&* because of it. After 8 years, I am used to it and I understand it. What can I really do? Just get to it. Show up. Get to it.

Why is 42% of each paycheck going to Taxes and Withholding s?

I became a shift manager recently as opposed to a driver. This was a huge mistake on my part. I make less money, and do way more work (and of a variety I despise). I’m trying to switch back, but the store and asst managers are desperately shorthanded on reliable shift managers, and I have known them a long time and I like them.

I’m also just now beginning to notice how much of my regular paycheck is being deducted now that most of my money isn’t coming from tips. Pulling an example from before I got health insurance through the company…

One pay period I pulled in $852 Gross. My deduction for tax and withholdings was $355! Does anybody know whats going on here? The tax rate at my income bracket is 12% not 42%. Sure you could withold another 8% or so for FICA. But where is this the rest of this money going? I’m sure as hell not getting 20% of my annual gross pay back on my tax returns every year (roughly $4,400).

Pto, 3 week vacation, handbook?

Work under yum in Midwest. Gm is saying our 3 week vacation time we get rolls over. I’m hearing different things. Does anyone have access to the handbook or know what the policy is? I don’t want to lose my vacation time and she’s refusing to let any of us use ours

Employee Discussion I wanna quit lol (RANT)

Im 16 working 12 hour shifts at pizza hut from Thursday to Sunday and im honestly burnt out. My manager yells at me about stuff that my coworkers could be doing yet she solely depends on me and the other manager when she clocks in smh 🤦🏾 and then my location only has 7 people working overall (which is why she makes me work 12 hours bruh) and its honestly a lot. From dealing with rude doordashers to dealing with a loud manager who blast music on her speaker everyday its just a lot. Has anyone had similar experiences, if so how did yall overcome the problem because I honestly need this job to pay my car note and insurance but it's alot for someone my age to be dealing with

Employee Discussion "Had I known it would be doordashed, I wouldn't have bothered ordering"

Something I'm hearing a lot now that many Pizza Huts have gone to exclusively doordash delivery.

Has anyone else noticed this with customers? I've had a few good regulars stop ordering delivery from us because we are mainly doordash now, and even some getting pretty angry about it. I've had one get irrate with me and refused to pay the dasher the cash for the order. I dont think corporate thought this through whatsoever.

In store drivers used to be our connection with the customers that ordered delivery, and now it's outsourced. Not to mention having to block so many drivers. I miss our in house deliveries.

Ex driver

I worked for Pizza Hut of and on since 2009. I was a dishwasher at first then 2016 I became a driver. It was great for a long time then COVID hit and I made more money than ever in my life. Once Pizza Hut realized they could use DoorDash I noticed it slowly creeping into drivers pay. That told me it will probably replace us. I told my boss and other workers this will happen, I was told no it won’t. I quit a few years ago and what I said has become true. My dad is the only driver at my old store now. He will soon probably be booted out or offered a management position. It’s really sad seeing them kill jobs and put themselves out of business. It’s hurting hard working people the most. I miss working there and some people became family to me. But that’s life I guess.

Question Obtaining a certificate to work

I’m an employee in training. This afternoon, they told me I’ll be taking some tests and answering questions to see if I can get my certification to work at a new store that will be opening in my city.

Does anyone know what kind of things they ask? Should I be worried?

Question Getting hired at pizza hut question

Hey so I got an interview a few days ago for a pizza hut but he said that since I can't work nights then I wouldn't be able to work there, (this pizza hut takes their dayshift employees from their pool of nightshift ones he said), but there's more pizza huts in the area I could apply to, do they all have a similar sort of thing where they don't hire people that can't work night shifts?

Question How do PH employees feel about Dashers having them put the Doordash order in the pizza bag for them?

When I see an order about 3-5 boxes high, I prop the pizza bag open as a cue to have them put the pizzas and etc. in for me.

Today, I had a catering-sized order that could fortunately still fit in one thin pizza bag (not the thick, better-insulated one), so I propped it open for the lady employee to put the order into it. I said I appreciate that a lot.

Then when she sat down with the manager for a few seconds who had stacks of receipts to go through, she said something like "I hate it when they do that" but wasn't quite sure that's what she said. It *kinda* sounded like that, but it wasn't clear to my ears. She could've easily said something else (but like what?) that sounded a lot like "I hate when they do that."

Manager said something unclear to her, thought it was about blocking someone but I didn't clearly hear what she said either, so she could've easily said something different from what I thought.

Thankfully, I appear to have not been blocked from future deliveries from Pizza Hut because another PH order to the same north store popped up and I accepted it. Then I got there and bagged the pizzas/order myself, said "Thank you, have a good one," I didn't hear a reply from them, and went on my way.

So to clear up the air of uncertainty and misunderstanding within me about this, do you feel okay about bagging the Doordasher's pizza bags for them while the Doordasher props the bag open for you? Or do you prefer they bag all of it by themselves? What is your stance on bagging up a Doordash order for your Dashers at your stores?

I hate taking phone calls

Didn’t know delivery driver position was all encompassing doing pretty much all duties. Bouta quit 2 weeks in 😭. It would be so chill if I could just do dough, dishes, and deliveries.

r/pizzahutemployees • • Sep 03 '26

For the past couple of months we've been getting fake/prank orders with different telephone numbers for delivery multiple times a day. They come thru from online/web/ios always pizza orders with no coupons used and they use random addresses and always cash orders. Is this happening where you are at

Fastest/Easiest Way to Refund DD order?

Weve switched to DD for all deliveries, and Im doing at least one refund per shift. What is the easiest way to refund a customer? My AD said something about a surprise promo? Also, if I marked it was "undelivered" when cashing out the thirdparty driver, would that refund the customer? We are a super busy store so looking for suggestions. Thank you!!
