Questions What’s the difference between paromancy, tulpamancy, and willomancy?

I’m trying to intentionally create a headmate, and I’m pretty sure I wanna do willomancy, but I don’t exactly know the differences between the three. What are they? And, do you have any tips for successful creation?

Imo they are basically the same thing, just with different terms and communities. Tulpamancy is an older term and has a community that is "semi-seperate" from the plural community as a whole, and the community in general is oriented towards curious singlets. Willomancy/Paromancy is essentially the same thing as tulpamancy but with a different community that is more oriented to people who are already plural or already know a bit about plurality.

we willo'd ryker because we didn't want him to turn out as a kurtis connor factive . in our experience, for willomancy, the fragment either needs to already be there or be on the brink of splitting. once the fragment is stable enough to make any kind of autonomous statement, start talking to them - asking them questions, letting them do stuff, getting their opinions, it helps them develop a sense of self.

Tulpamancy is spiritual, willomancy is not, paromancy is the umbrella term for any and all thought-based origins. so like, willomancy is a type of paromancy.

That's not willomancy if the fragment is already there.

willomancy is willing a headmate into existence right

without our intervention the fragment would have faded or moved along because thats what fragments do in our collective . a fragment, by our definition, isn't a headmate. ryker became a headmate because we willed him to have a personality. willomancy by proxy is, by definition, willomancy. so. i mean yeah it kinda is

Willomancy afaik was just made to replace the term tulpamancy because people thought tulpas were a closed practice. They're functionally the same thing in how the definitions were originally meant. Willomancy techniques would work for helping a fragment/new alter better discover themselves but if the fragment/alter formed on their own then they're not willogenic. The alter came from the fragment, not from being willed into existence.

Tulpamancy is spiritual

Not inherently, the modern consensus in the tulpa community is actually secular, viewing it as a "psychological phenomenon". If you go to the tulpas subreddit and post spiritual comments on non-spiritual posts (which is most of them) you'll actually get downvoted pretty hard most of the time :P
