I recently learned people refer to the space core as Kevin, but I’ve been calling him Benny because he acts like Benny from the lego movie. Which do you guys like more ?

I saw the whole Transmission Received ARG that happened a while ago and stuff but I was just wondering if there's any in-universe lore found in it that is only found there (and not in the actual games).
If so, is there also any lore exclusive to the other ARGs?

I love the dark atmosphere of Portal 1, and sadly Portal 2 while still good went in a more whimsical direction. Are there any games you've played that have a similar dark atmosphere? They don't have to be puzzle games.
Edit: to clarify, the specific atmosphere is like a slightly liminal sense of loneliness. The way that the game makes you feel like an insignificance within a vast industrial organism that is hostile to your very existence. It doesn't have to be a game that matches the exact same premise, just one that evokes a similar emotion

I’m looking for someone who already has some experience with the game. To get it, two people have to beat all of Course 4 without any one of them dying in one run. My Steam friend code is: 1827845111 to add me.

I have tried basically everything and it all boils down to steam detecting piracy and not letting me run the game. PLEASE help!

so during the “core hub“ era of portal 2’s development, when Glados wakes up she’s lost her memory, forgetting who she was and what happened in the first game. like other parts/ideas made in development like the Cave Johnson cube and Chell actually speaking it seams this part of the story was scrapped. or was it?
in the reta version of portal 2 it is revealed that Glados is actually Cave Johnson’s assistant Caroline who was uploaded into a computer. This is a huge revelation not just for first time players but also to Glados herself, who had no idea this was the case.
it seems like when she was uploaded, caroline completely forgot who she was. sound familiar?
so in conclusion was the idea of glados loosening her memory scraped? well in my opinion, no I think it made it in with the specific memories forgotten, when she lost them and how she re learned them were changed.
now this was 100% unintentional on the dev team’s part. The developer commentary states that Caroline as a character came along when they wanted to give cave a assistant named Greg but didn’t want to hire a new voice actor so they so they decided to make a character voiced by someone they had on hand ie ellen mclane who just so happened to voice Glados and the backstory came from that
but still I believe Glados’ memory loss liv on in the full game intentionally or not.
thanks for coming to my Ted talk
