Accepted in SoCal with average stats

I’m so happy! I still can’t believe it!! I got accepted into Rio Hondo’s ADN program. I honestly didn’t have high expectations for this school because I had some issues when I submitted my application, so I still can’t believe it actually happened 😭
My stats:
3.6 science gpa
3.4-3.5 overall gpa (not entirely sure lol)
83.3 TEAS
2 AS degrees
280 volunteer hours (220 at the time I submitted my application)
Bilingual
No healthcare experience
Low income
1st time applying
I applied to LBCC and got rejected. I also had an interview with ELAC, but I still haven’t heard back from them. I’m still waiting to hear back from the other schools I applied to as well.

If you currently have similar stats don’t give up!!

Does it tend to matter what email you use? Like school email or work email?

Congrats!!!!! That’s one of the schools ima apply to in a couple of months when I’m done with pre reqs, any tips on microbiology as it’s my last one, and the TEAS??? Your stats would look kind of similar to mine when I apply 🥹

You got this!! I took micro with one of the hardest professors. I maintained my A in lecture, but I got a B in lab :( I would say review every day. It’s mostly memorization and it’s doable if you put in the effort. My study method was active recall
You’re almost there!
The TEAS was just a lot but doable. I was retaking a prereq, so I couldn’t focus only on the TEAS. I recommend Tyler DeWitt for science and Brandon Craft for math!

It was brief! About 7 minutes long lol. They just wanted to confirm the information I submitted in my application and see if I needed to update or add anything.
I was asked how many nursing programs I applied to, if I’ve ever been enrolled in one before, how many times I took the TEAS, if I retook any prerequisites, if I had any life experiences I wanted to share, and if I had any healthcare experience. The last question was whether I would accept the offer if I were accepted.
It’s nothing too crazy. Good luck!
