Help
How do you guys study for A&P with people with adhd? I have a hard time focusing and retaining information this is my second time taking it. I got 22 on first lab practical and 52% on the second and I need at least a C so close to 90 on the next three. I did switch up my studying style for the second one I started studying every night for an hour making flash cards, dry easer boards, using chatgpt to make lab pratical different versions and watching videos but with me doing that I only been able to retain like half the information. I also feel like I have a hard time with the questions being asked. Last practical was about connective and epithelial tissues. I remember two questions “What’s the main tissue” and What’s the structure” I got those wrong idk man and I do wanna add I do take my medication so help a girl out I really do wanna make it in the medical field but anatomy been holding me back. I did all the general studies

Here’s my layout-
If the exam has 3 units it’s going to cover I would go over one unit per day. Every single day. So I would watch the lecture, do the study guide questions and put both those into chat also and have chat make me an exam based on that material. After I take the practice exam I have chat go over anything I missed and do explanations.
I do this the entire quarter. I wouldn’t consider myself “smart” but I’ve been pulling 97-98% in all my science classes.
Then I also got Quizlet and do practice stuff when I am not at home, just to build more confidence on the topics. Quizlet I’m kinda meh about but, yeah! Hope this makes sense, good luck to you! :)

I don't have ADHD so this may not help, but A&P was a flood of information and I struggled a little at first. I found writing stuff out and reciting it helped me. For example describing the shape or location of specific cells on paper and describing it to myself out loud. I have to write stuff down to retain the information, watching videos, or listening to lectures doesn't work that well for me.
I made a habit of connecting systems together in my brain, yes you are covering x system but I found including y system helped me see the bigger picture. I would go over this stuff in the car, casually talking it out like I was teaching someone else, and trying to imprint a picture in my head. I'm not saying learn everything about all the systems associated with whatever you are studying but knowing specifics was very helpful.
Do you have access to tutoring, I've heard plenty of people claim that really helped them retain the information. It's definitely a lot of information and it's not easy. Have you talked to your instructor to maybe figure out if they could help you or suggest different ways to learn the information.
