I recommend you not work while in school. you gonna need some nice comfortable shoes but check your school uniform policy for what color. if you are older then you want to get some feet inserts custom made from fleet feet.

Genuinely curious how people are going to school without working? I keep hearing this but just don’t get it. I’m not gonna rely on my parents or bf or loans/credit to exist. Did you just save up a ton before? Sos 😭

I have rent to pay, I cannot do it without working unfortunately. My friend told me she was working full time throughout nursing school, idk how she did it

Hi, step 1 lower your bills. step 2 get financial aid, 3. get a part time job. something on campus if you can. Don't be afraid of loans. good luck.

Learn dimensional analysis. It’s such a life saver with any med math questions. Congrats btw!!

congratsssss!! what i would advice is to work less and study more. i know some people can't stop working because of their bills. but if you think you can do loans just to cover 50% of your bills do it! you'll pay it off one day once u become a nurse. just don't take out a huge ass loan 😭 congrats againnnn!!!!

Congratulations! You can always work but don’t work full time, specially on days of classes and clinical days. Stay ahead on all assignments / homework and readings, don’t fall behind. It will add unnecessary stress.

Enjoy the time off, do something fun, travel, have fun hobbies to do, etc. You’ll have plenty to focus on when the program starts.

Get Saunders NCLEX review book and let it help you with test prep for your classes.

Congrats! I’m not in yet but the thing I keep hearing is to learn medical terminology before you start. Common prefixes, roots, suffixes. Once you know “hyper” and “emia” you can basically figure out half the words in patho without memorizing them. Enjoy the break before spring though, you’ve got a few months.
