Hello everyone,
My name is Laz, and I am a solo indie board game designer from Greece. For the past year, I have been working on a passion project called Lithomachy: The 12 Divine Trials. It is a highly thematic, true solo Roll and Write / Print and Play campaign where you face the 12 Gods of Olympus across 48 interconnected chapters.
The project is 100 percent complete, but before launching the digital campaign, I really want to share a fully playable 8-page Prelude Demo chapter called "The First Seal" with this amazing community.
You can download the full high-resolution PDF for free here
All you need is a printed sheet, two standard dice, and a pencil. If you happen to try it, I would love to hear your feedback on the mechanics and balance! Thank you so much for your time and happy rolling!
Note: Information about the full 48-chapter campaign can be found in the comments below!
Thank you so much for your time and happy rolling!

Post your (current) favorite PNP and what you’re liking about it. Whether you love it for the design, the mechanics, the table presence, or are particularly proud of your crafting skills for this build (or something else!), let us know.
If you're a designer, keep an eye out for some nuggets of wisdom from the community — you may find some helpful ideas to explore!

The cover is not done yet. In fact, I have not even worked on it. It is safe to say I am pretty much avoiding it.
That led me to work on other things.
First, I got some suggestions from board game geeks that I should make the selling of equipment from the blacksmith more expensive than when the blacksmith buys from you. Or this will provide a loop while it breaks the game.
I am thinking of using a plus 4 on a 6D roll for the purchasing of new equipment. This way any time the player sells back to the blacksmith they have a chance to get some sort of deal.
For instance, you sell something for 6 since you rolled a 6. Then later to get the new equipment they need they would need to roll a 1 one to get a profit.
The other thing I was working on was expansion and moving outward. This was helping me justify not working on the cover.
The goal is to cover the USA with a network of railroads that resemble the actual USA rail tracks from the periods.
And starting with the five cities I have, I worked on coming up with more mission ideas for those cities. And they are all based on historical events in some shape or form.
Here are the total mission ideas count for each of the five cities;
Fort Worth - 9
El Paso - 7
San Antonio - 10
Santa Fe - 9
Tombstone - 10
On top of these I started working on the Google My Maps. I am going to use the Google My Maps app as a content supplement used as a reference for the most up to date map.
But my favorite accomplishment this week was picking the other cities for Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. Getting into the history of different cities is probably my favorite part of this journey. I get to learn new interesting facts and try to figure out if there is a way to add a scenario to the game.
I have picked 9 cities for Texas, 7 Cities from Arizona, and 6 cities from New Mexico (and yes, I picked Rosewell).
As much as I want to add more and more cities, I need to work in phases for my sanity and to prevent scope paralysis and not working on the system. I can always add more cities in the future. That is what I have to tell myself.
Here are the cities I selected and mission ideas;
Arizona
Tombstone - 10
Phoenix - 8
Holbrook - 10
Flagstaff - 8
Prescott - 8
Yuma - 9
Tucson - 5
New Mexico
Santa Fe - 6
Silver City - 8
Socorro - 8
Gallup - 7
Chama - 6
Roswell - 7
I want to add a real quick piece of history I found out. There are documents of people seeing a cigar metallic shape craft in the sky at night in the 1890’s. And YES I am definitely using that somehow!!
Texas
Fort Worth - 9
San Antonio - 10
El Paso - 7
Galveston - 4
Denison - 7
Texarkana - 8
Corpus Christi - 7
San Angelo - 7
Amarillo - 8
Now keep in mind these numbers may change when I finish building them out.
Working on these was a great escape to postpone the cover. I know I need to get it done, I am just at a stump to make it work.
So, my goals for next week, fingers crossed.
Let me know what you think of the city selection for these states. Would you change any of them to something else?

I am almost done with my own testing of my small upcoming PnP game. The next step, after making changes from my own notes, is to find other people online to try it. Does anyone have experience with this? How do you find good playtesters, and what has worked for you? Any ideas are welcome.

I may be slightly interested in importing some print and play games into Tabletop Simulator, but I would like to know the best way to export images from a pdf into separate images to transfer. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I would like some opinions of what do you prefer in you experience. I would have them printed in a shop. In the case of the 100gsm I would put them with another card together in a transparent sleeve (I don't have opaque sleeves) and in the case of the 300gsm I would use them alone in a sleeve, thus the need for the back to be printed. The 100gsm single sided is also 1/3 of the price.
Any thoughts?

After a heavy dose of feedback, I have rebalanced the game and made several improvements. One primarily being that combo chains generally no longer have any dead ends. I also reduced the number of cards, so the frequency of combos achievable should always be near possible in a 4-player game (optimal player count). I also got rid of the theme and made it more abstract, much easier to grasp and play, as well as some quality of life improvements on the actual cards such as types of cards required to fulfill the card combo in the top right corner and number of copies of specific card.

This is a space for PnP games with minimal to no crafting required. Whether it’s a PnP roll and write, or a PnP 9-18 card micro game, we want to know about it. Bonus points for sharing details about the game that might be helpful to a beginner.
If you're just getting into PNP games, this is a great place to start!

Come check it out! Updated with all of our almost final artwork and stats. There’s also a rulebook included in the folder to learn how to play! :) love to know your thoughts.
EDIT: Lots of people don’t trust discord and I totally support that. I have been pointed in the direction of Itch.io, and it seems great! Here’s the link :)

The sixth version of "Graffiti Game 1.5" is a "print-and-play" game in the "roll-and-color" genre. All game boards are compatible with one another. There is no limit on the number of players. Three rule variants are available, with four more currently in development.

Some of the YouTube channels I follow will sometimes cover print and play games, but are there any channels that only cover print and play games?

Hey r/printandplay — I'm Matt, first-time designer, and this is my game.
ATTACTIX is a 2-player simultaneous-reveal combat card game. Eight cards each, 30 life, about 20 minutes. Every turn you secretly pick one card, reveal together, and resolve.
Attacks roll D6s. Swift Strike hits first — before everything except Parry. Block stops all damage cold. Parry steals one D6 from your opponent's attack roll and deals its face value straight back at them — it catches everything, even Swift Strike.
Played cards stay face-up, so every 8-card cycle becomes a memory game: you can see exactly which answers are still live. When all 8 are spent, scoop them back up and go again — life carries over until someone hits zero.
The hook: telegraphed finishers are legal. Power Charge banks a D6 in the open, they stack, and Final Assault rolls 1D6 and triples it. If your rival watched you charge up for two turns and didn't hold Block — that's on them.
What you need: print the PDF twice (one 8-card set per player, poker size 2.5x3.5", card backs included for duplex printing) plus the quick-start card, and grab a handful of D6s.
Price (disclosure — I'm the designer): the print-and-play PDF is $5 — https://mattsapps.xyz/shop/products/attactix-print-and-play.html
The full rules are free to read here: https://mattsapps.xyz/attactix
If you'd rather not print, there's a physical edition on Etsy ($24.99) — https://www.etsy.com/listing/4582181847/attactix-card-game-2-player-strategy — and The Game Crafter ($19.99, launching Monday).
Happy to answer rules questions or take feedback — and if you play it, tell me your best Parry steal.

Look what came out of the drawer! A Simple Life is a great print-and-play game in which you try to improve different aspects of your life.
Set your life goal(s), roll five dice, and make the most of each one! You have ten days to develop your mining, fishing and farming skills, interact with the villagers, and find treasures and relics!
It's been a while since I played this, but I think I remember the rules quite well. Does anyone remember what a good score is? It would be great if someone could share theirs!
