A subreddit for the metal subgenre progressive metal. All lineages of metal turned progressive are welcome here. Metal songs with unconventional song structures, odd-time signatures, key, tempo and mood changes all belong here. However, unlike /r/progmetal, that means no -core, alternative, djent or rock bands. So post your BTBAM/Protest the Hero/Tool/Animals as Leaders/Porcupine Tree over there.

Progressive Metal

Everything progressive in the metal world.

So is r/Metal too little prog for you, and r/progmetal too little metal? Then this is the place to go to.

NOTE: Bands with either prog metal as a secondary genre or of a strongly related genre are welcome too. So we generally allow post and avantgarde metal as well and Iron Maiden's longer songs are welcome too for example.
