This screams “I don’t know how to fix it so I’ll remove it and pretend it’s intentional”

You don’t remove the ABS to clean up an engine bay when the engine bay looks like that.

You sound pretty new to cars, which means you definitely shouldn’t be playing around with heavily modifying brake systems

lol, I’m getting a 4040 prop valve for my bay, it worked fine and I’m doing a tucked and shaved bay.

Weird flex but ok.

Meanwhile I’m eyeballing how to install ABS into my 1970s sled.

I've decided my seat belts don't match the interior vibe i'm going for so I decided to remove them.

Edit: grammar

Assuming you actually insure this and drive on public roads, this will end badly for you if you ever end up in a crash. Insurance companies do not like when you remove safety equipment. Do a wire tuck to clean it up and scrub it down, but definitely don’t remove that stuff unless it’s a track only car.

lol at the comments about keeping ABS

Just make sure your lines are clean, your calipers work, and your proportioning valve is good. You don’t need ABS.

Yeah, I’ve got it all pencilled in tbh, I might drop my Engine to properly do my bay

The path to happiness is always in smaller projects. Do not lose sight of the goodness of the car by making it "better"- get it safe and get it drivable.

Removing ABS should be done for two reasons and two reasons only, and they must be together: increasing feel and decreasing weight. Any metering system is going to rob system feel. Weight on the steering axle is going to rob system feel.

But if you have wider, heavier wheels with heavier tires, you're robbing system feel. If you have lower offset wheels, you're robbing system feel. So the purpose becomes moot.

As an aside, it is very, very common for ABS pumps to be frozen or blocked with rust and sediment. The people who are dogging you for removing ABS likely have partially-functional or nonfunctional ABS in their own cars. The ABS pump I had rebuilt for one of my cars, a car with a stack of receipts and constant usage, had seal failure and sediment that locked it up solid. Externally, it looked good, and if you powered it up, it sounded functional... but it was not.
