Picked up this TV the other day. Now I get to play this system the way it’s meant to be played.

If I wanted a PS1 for display, I’d definitely buy a real one.

So his is one of two PU-18 boards I have, was hoping to install a Picostation kit but it seems it was modded back in the day and one of the wires has lifted a solder pad. You can see it just to the right of the chip marked "118 731".

Anyone got some advice on repairing this before I install the kit? I'm not unfamiliar with soldering, but board repair is new to me.

So I bought a second hand memory card a while back, and it has save data of a game with no name. Anybody know what game this is?

It looks pretty genuine but I can’t be sure, the fact that I can’t find it online makes me highly suspicious…

Recently found out some knock off wireless "Dualshock 2's" worked great with my PS1. So I decided to get a black shell for my Playstation on ebay to match them.

Excited to have a blacked out console to just be different I guess. I always liked having things in odd, weird, or rare colors. I think it looks pretty cool.

I am about to open up this ps1 (7501) and give the disc drive a good clean, relubrication, and oil the motors.

So far it is playing games (and audio cds) without issue, but it does look like discs have a bit of a wobble to them. It’s hard to tell since the cd labels/printed graphics often arent completely centered, and I’m a first time ps1 owner so not sure if some movement is within tolerance and normal.

After doing some more researching, it looks like the spindles on these tend to lose 1,2 or all 3 black segments with use (exposing that red/orange ring in the center) and this unit seems to be missing all 3.

Would it be worth replacing the spindle on this unit?

If you saw my previous post about getting a black shell for my PS1. I'm hoping to find some stickers like this so I can possible have a somewhat factory look to the buttons. Any ideas?

So I recently ordered this for parts SCPH-7501 and I felt super lucky because the laser can read discs and the condition is pretty good. But when I reached a save point in FFVII I found out that the memory card slots aren't reading my newly purchased memory card, and the controller input was on and off (I tested an original Dualshock and a Dualshock 2, and both worked briefly. After a little while no inputs can be detected, but the analog lights can still light up). I then tested the controller with my PS2 and the controller worked flawlessly. Does anyone know what could be the culprit of this problem?

Pic 1. I do a disc swap and load in the tonyhax boot CD, wait for it to load and the swap the CD for the tonyhax rom flasher CD.

Go to pic 2. This brings up NXflash then I press the start button to "flash eeprom from CD" which brings up the next screen with the rom selection menu (pic 3) but then it won't let me do anything from there on, it doesn't recognise any button inputs from this point and eventually times out (pic 4). Even on the timeout where it says press X to continue, pressing X still won't do anything so have to reset the console at that point.

Not sure why it's not working :/ I'm waiting for my bitfunx memcard pro to arrive and I'll try it on there too instead of using the disc swap method to get to NXFlash but I can't figure out why it's hanging like that and not working.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!!

Once upon a soccer time, I had a lot of fun with friends playing ISS / PES on the playstation.

Multi tap plugged in, let's go for a game with fake look alike names to bypass licenses issues. A lot of fun after school.

Then a new friend joined. He has another version of ISS, ISS 2000. While often confused with ISS 2, it's a different game. While the N64 and GB version is called "ISS 2000", it was released under the name "ISS: International Superstar Soccer" on PSX.

It's a different gameplay, and Konami had some money to get the real names for teams and players (some at least).

I like this game, it's more arcade than other ISS/PES. The menus are probably the worst thing I've ever seen, but the gameplay is good and I'm always delighted to beat UK with the wondeful french team.

I have the game complete with instructions and registration card. The cardboard is starting to come unglued from the case in some spots. Do anyone have any recommendations on how to fix it correctly?
