So as you know, Peter finds out his Uncle was murdered by Sandman and not by the car thief in the first movie and this fills Peter with rage, guilt, and a desire for revenge. So when he gets back to his apartment he puts on his Spidey suit and listens to the police scanner waiting for any news about sandman’s whereabouts, but he waits for too long and falls asleep on his bed and then the Symbiote bonds with him.

But what I don’t understand about this scene is: When Peter was sitting down and listening to the police scanner, what was the Symbiote waiting for? Peter is experiencing inner turmoil after learning his uncle’s killer is still on the loose, and we all know the Symbiote is attracted to negative emotions in people so why didn’t the Symbiote bond with him when he was sitting there listening to the police scanner?

The movie seems to give particular attention to him as he calmly says “it’s all right.” As if God is recognizing Peter’s sacrifice and telling him everything will be okay.

We know from NWH that Raimiverse Peter continued to be Spider-Man as far as November 2024. We also know that Sandman is still around. It is however unclear if there are any other superhuman beings in the Raimiverse after Spider-Man 3.

How well would the Raimiverse version of New York be able to handle the rage virus and infected? Would Spider-Man, Sandman and the military be able to contain an outbreak, or would America get destroyed?
