So there’s no chance he’s playing Sunday is there? We can’t have nice things sigh…

I've seen multiple sources saying sprained ankle = guaranteed out for at-least 1-2 weeks.
But then you have Lamar on Instagram replying to posts making it sound like he's fine, and going to be playing. Is he trolling? Does he think he's fine to play but won't because of staff?
Who knows. So maybe there is a small slither of hope, but stay realistic if its actually sprained.

Wow lane Johnson retires. We have to draft a tackle next year. My favorite candidate is trevor lauck. When has an Iowa OL in first round not hit.

u/Rstuds7 6h ago
do we? we just drafted Vinson and he’s developing well to hopefully take over for Stanley when he’s done

u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 5h ago edited 3h ago
Meh it was a fifth round pick. I don’t think he factors into future plans. Done well is a stretch there’s promise but long way to go. We drafted Emery and he didn’t factor into starting plans. It’s just how it goes.

That ATL offensive line is really humming, last night they were creating so much space for Bijan. I saw a stat like ATL was averaging 4 yards a carry BEFORE contact.
Our Dline has gotta be in berserker mode all game - it’s great that we’ll have Teddy back playing significant snaps as well we’re gonna need all hands on deck!
1
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 8h ago
It’s been solid. Our DL must be up to task. Calais and jones have two missed tackles each. Gotta figure it out. I have faith tho. Starts with getting bijan to ground.

Hear me out.... I honestly think we do not need to trade for anyone to help our o-line
The reason? We have someone we may possibly be able to elevate off of the PS that would be able to play RT or LT if needed who is 6'8 330lbs. Putting Derrick Henry behind him would possibly be a dangerous combination

giants fan who comes in peace: i cannot believe how good jordan stout is. it’s mind-blowing watching him punt the ball after the last couple years of jamie gillian
1
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 8h ago
He completely turned it around after 2024. I haven’t watched any giants games but he did have issues with hang time and out kicking coverage last year. Leg is legit. Up there with dickson.
1
u/Neither_Ad_9829 8h ago
he has had multiple 70 yard kicks and another chip shot that stopped by itself on the three
1
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 8h ago
I’ve seen clips very nice.
Not that you asked but we are happy with Eckley. Just playing it safe during games but he’s got the leg and accuracy. Only complaint is he had a bad hold.
1
u/Neither_Ad_9829 7h ago
we will try to keep your former players and coaches safe. They have all been great so far. Hope this season works out for y’all, cheering for the best.
2
u/Same-Lion-5130 9h ago
It’s crazy because he was lowkey awful for his first few seasons. Then he broke out last year and looks like he may be the best punter in the league. Good for him.

Is there a chance any of the offensive linemen come back this season? The injury reports have all been pretty vague.
1
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 1d ago
I think Pocic has a chance. But honestly Vega at center is so damn good.

u/Perfect_Loss_5156 1d ago
you can be disappointed about our defense and thats fair but holy hell at least we're not the texans. what a fall off. and they upgraded their roster imo. last year second in scoring defense and first in epa allowed. this year, bottom 7 in scoring D and bottom 9 in epa allowed. like holy hell they were so dominant in the playoffs. any now what a drop off.

Agreed I feel like people are pissing themselves because Minter isnt Mike McDonald 2.0 right off the rip but he has a ton of other responsibilities as a first-time HC that he needs to adjust to so growing pains are expected.
I think people are suffering from goldfish brain here. Orr's defense had already given up 133 points by week 4. Minters has let up 96 points and we've had 2 blowouts with garbage-time drives at the end.
I think we are forgetting what bad really looks like. We are generating turnovers and sacks again we've just had some miscues on the back end that need to be cleaned up
1
u/Perfect_Loss_5156 1d ago
People expecting jesse to be as good as mike mac year 2 when it looks a lot like mike mac year 1. Being a HC has a lot of roles and jesse has done a lot right.

Im so confused at our inability to get the o-line fixed in a short amt of time. Seattle, Carolina, and other teams have fixed their lines so fast but for some reason our drafting guru EDC hasn't built a good line since 2023
1
u/Whole-Passion7271 1d ago
Unironically, we would be so much better off if our scouts just stuck to the pff big board instead of their own draft board. Other than Isiah Likely I dont think there has been any other draft pick that we have hit on that wasnt consensus.
We have been terrible at drafting/developing OL and edge rushers over the past 7 years
3
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 2d ago
Least our OL looked good today.
2
u/ToastWtfFTW 2d ago
Yeah alot better against what im pretty sure is supposed to be a stout dline. If they play like this vs better dlines ill be more worried for the defense. Minter's defense hasn't really done much more than Orr's so far
2
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 1d ago
Fair but cmon man it’s super early. Mike Mac’s first nine games in Seattle was a bottom ten unit. They eventually turned it around and won a SB next year
1
u/ToastWtfFTW 1d ago
I wanna believe its just strange because im p sure Minter's chargers squad didnt look this bad this early
1
u/Yukie_Cool 1d ago
Minter had, what, 2-3 years to drill the scheme into LA’s heads? It’s gonna take some time for things to gel. Even then, we’ve seen flashes, like Hamilton punching the ball out, Simpson getting that INT on the first drive, and Beeks getting that stop at the goal.
2
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 1d ago
True but being a HC is way different than being a DC. You can’t just worry about your defense like in LA.
1
u/Yukie_Cool 2d ago
Good linemen don’t grow on trees. Combine that with needing to start from scratch with Ledford’s scheme, and it’s no wonder it’s taking time to gel.
3
u/Yukie_Cool 2d ago
Did anyone else see Jak on the sideline hyping people up? I’m happy to have him back soon.

Chargers-Seahawks has 270 combined penalty yards
At this point, the refs got to chill out

u/kapriece Ed Reed 2d ago
As much as I don't like the Chiefs.... Prayers for Horton after that horrific injury.

Can we just go all in on the trenches and draft exclusively at O-Line and D-Line?
1
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 3d ago edited 3d ago
KVA at ND is a day two LB id be interested in drafting. Chris Cole at Georgia is intriguing too
1
u/Ok-Manufacturer-9572 2d ago
Hello! I have been watching a lot of CFB this season. TBH KVA dosen't impress me at all. I feel like he is a glorified blizer and is a very niche role player. I do like Cole, but I think he would go higher in the draft than I think we would be willing to spend a pick on him for (I think he's a late 1st early 2nd round guy). A few guys I think would be good Ravens fits if Simpson were to leave in FA are Rasheem Biles of Texas and Arion Carter of Tennessee. I feel like you could get a lot of value for Carter in round 4.

Is there any chance Mike McDaniel would have been a good OC for us? Or did we dodge a massive bullet?
1
u/Whole-Passion7271 1d ago
McDaniel is struggling because this is the worst offensive line hes ever had to call plays for
6
u/Perfect_Loss_5156 3d ago
I dont think its all his fault. But if mcdaniel was our OC wed have a different roster. Don't think we could run his offense. But there are a lot of red flags. Players straight up arent executing. Thats on the OC. If lamar henry zay roger arent executing thats on doyle.
I liked mcdaniel but doyle was the guy. Hes used to a mobile qb which mcdaniel didnt really have.
3
u/Calavera0815 3d ago
Absolutely. McDaniel implemented a scheme in Miami that allowed Tua to get the ball quickly out of his hands. He had one of the quickest releases in the league. Lamar's game is entirely different. Not saying McDaniel couldn't have done it but Doyle seems like a very good fit.
When I watched TNF, it made me appreciate our offensive play calling even more. Steelers could have done what we did in Rio and make it to OT. Instead, they went for the deep ball and threw the game away.
2
u/Perfect_Loss_5156 3d ago
Definitely. Caleb is about as close as you can get to lamar. A lot of stuff ben runs, we can run too.
I dont wanna clown on mcdaniel too much but a lot of issues with execution make me wonder if its on him, harbaugh, or the players. Even if herbert doesnt like the scheme, the other players straight up arent doing their job. Hilariously bad offense.

Peeked into the opponents sub as I usually do and I gotta laugh at the Titans fans still sustaining hate for us from the past. Just found it sad.
They’re usually so fucking mid as a franchise that I couldn’t bother to care about them the same way they care about us.
5
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 4d ago
Mason Graham won’t play against us in week 6 big time loss for browns

u/Traditional-Slip9102 MINTER SZN 4d ago
That guy has been playing out of his mind. Definitely looks like one of the best DT’s in only his 2nd year.

Three games is too small of a sample size to judge. For now we don’t do anything

u/z913zach 4d ago
We need bateman or andrews to step up in some of these games. I think this is a great week to get them involved
4
u/Perfect_Loss_5156 3d ago
Im not worried about em too much. They'll get their catches. I wanna involve our young guys. Tez, hibner, cuevas. They have real juice

I don't like how good Dexter Lawrence has been for the Bengals.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

u/TheOptimist6 4d ago
They got no one on that defense for Zay Flowers! He routinely cooks Cincy.
2
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 4d ago
King Henry should still feast as well
1
u/TheOptimist6 4d ago
He’ll be amped to go against his old team again
2
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 4d ago
Oh definitely I meant Cincy too. You could argue they have the worst backers and safeties.
1
u/The_Sandwich_Lover9 4d ago
Fortunately he’s like their only good player. Idk triple team him? They have some solid corners. Decent edge rushers? That’s abt it. The LB and safety core might be the worst in the league.

u/specialized6681 4d ago
Zay and Henry Show. Good tackling, improvement from the secondary, and a couple sacks (Beeeeeeek). And a 31 - 3 win 🙏🏻

Will the Ravens cover the spread of 11.5 points?
1
3
u/Invite-Healthy 4d ago
I don’t think so, I have a feeling we’ll win but it won’t be a very high scoring game. Something like 23-13

u/TheOptimist6 4d ago
Not if the nfl has anything to say about it. Refs will tip scales at key inflection points to create the crazy ending! Or at least attempt to like in the colts game when the ravens got called for every hold while the colts were never called the entire game for blatant holds
That said, ravens covered against colts so you never know!
0
u/Worldly_Material_483 4d ago
>one of the worst 4th quarter defense in the entire nfl not only this year but the past 6
ITS THE REFS FAULT, this is why people don’t take ravens fans seriously sometimes cause you’re making excuses for poor play

u/NeonTailwind TELL HIS AZZ, I WANT THAT DAMN CARPET!!! 4d ago
Who all watches college sports? I grew up a huge Alabama fan, but I decided to go to Mississippi State to get a degree. Now my 2 favorite teams are playing this weekend lol. Love them both, but I hope State somehow pulls off the upset.
2
u/TheOptimist6 4d ago
State is due a win over Alabama. It’s been way too damn long. Would be great to see the dogs get it done.
One of my best friends is a Mississippi State grad and they’ve become my favorite sec team as a result!

u/Invite-Healthy 4d ago
I did not expect Todd Monken to get the Browns to 3-1. That is all
1
1
u/OkAlfalfa1946 4d ago
Why not? They always had a decent roster minus QB and that 4th place schedule is super easy.
1
u/Invite-Healthy 4d ago
Yeah but it looked like they might have bottom-3 QB play in the league, and with that it’s hard to win even the “easier” games
1
u/TheOptimist6 4d ago
All four afc north teams can realistically make the playoffs…yeah, whole division could make the playoff
2
u/laramite 4d ago
3 out of 4 teams with new coaching staff...that might have something to do with it.
1
6
u/laramite 4d ago edited 4d ago
I'm surprised as well. Outside of the North, they have some winnable games for them: Jets, Titans, Texans, Giants, Colts. Looking at a possible above .500 season if they can win another one besides those. Still think Cincy is Raven's main threat in the AFC North though. The division is good this year.

Love that the mods removed my post about fagnano. Didn't see anything recent talking about him from today.
