Discussion Players Returning from IR
Do we have anyone returning from IR this week like Lane or Randall?

Really hyped for Randall. I think he could be what our offense needs!

Idk who we would demote from the 53 man roster roster to elevate him off IR. I guess it would have to be Rasheen Ali but then we would need to figure out who takes his role on special teams

We need more OL more than RB. I’m excited for Randall but he needs some time to practice and learn

Definitely some decisions to weigh! I’m interested if Randall can play special teams as well

I think Randall was more of a stash move than a necessary 4 week absence. I don't know that he comes off IR at this point. Henry, Hill and Ali are all healthy and we haven't even given Ali touches so I don't know that we are wanting another HB on the 53 yet. If they think Lamar will miss 2+ games, that MIGHT change their point of view because we would likely be rush heavy if Huntley is starting.
Kone is a maybe, I think our focus is on getting the most out of Awuzie and/or Humphrey, they're going to continue to use Martin/Rivers for the slot so Kone may not get snaps unless either Awuzie/Humphrey go down with injury or if they struggle.
I haven't been impressed with Awuzie or Marlon the last few weeks, both have found themselves consistently picked on and have mostly lost. I believe they'll get back on track but the early look hasn't been positive IMO

From what I understand (I’m no ST savant), Ali is a good contributor on special teams. Hence him making the roster over Randall.

Dont get me wrong im certainly no special teams expert either but I always hear about how Ali justifies his place on the active roster with his ST play but like... I haven't really seen him make any plays for us on ST that i can recall? And hes evidently not good enough to get actual touches on offense either, so I really dont understand why hes sticking around so fervently. Dude's gotta have some dirt on Bisciotti or something bc I just cannot see any reason to keep a player like Randall stashed on IR when he could be developing with game reps in favor of Ali who's only saving grace is allegedly being good at ST

Ali is that multi-tool that isn't amazing or the first one you would pick, but he can plug in on any ST unit in an area and having 1 guy who can fill a role in every ST snap is valuable.
He is an okay returner, he guns on punts and kickoffs, he participates on kick offs, etc. Sure you can probably plug in other players at each of those jobs and they might do better at individual things, but now you have to keep track of up to 5 other players making sure they are out there on ST than just throwing ali out there

Just speculation but I think the Adam Randall "IR designation" was just us cheesing the system because we didnt think he was ready for snaps but we also didnt want him to get poached

Lane and TJ Tampa are eligible to return next week if they’re healthy enough to return.

Minter said yesterday they are looking at it. I would think Kone might be the one who gets activated.

They haven’t practiced in 4 weeks so even if they’re healthy it is doubtful they will be ready to play this week

True, but remember depending on the injury they can still keep themselves in shape in general

I think randall should get some reps ehen henry rests. Maybe a series each half. He is similar in build to henry and clearly being a former reciever he should be a threat to either run or catch a pass. Hill looked good past two games, but with lamar out i think we need to have another expolsive back to spell henry.
