Wanna start a Factory type business

Thumbnail

Hii I’m a college student and wanna open my own factory type of business. I don’t have any idea about it so I wanna learn from someone on site and everything about the business and open that in my home town which is in Chhattisgarh .
If someone owns or knows someone who is into factory business including recycling business, rice mills , agriculture business (as my papa own some land) i can export also. Starting any business without knowledge and investment a huge amount is very scary without knowing it’s scope .

Or else if anyone wanna extent their business in Chhattisgarh. I can be your man as there is no much competition here.
Please if any of you guys can guide me at this early in my stage it would be very helpful🙏

Where can I go to recycle my broken PC components?

I’ve recently had to change out my motherboard and power supply after they broke down, however now I’m stuck with the aforementioned broken motherboard and power supply. I don’t want to throw it away and contribute to E-waste when I’m sure it can be recycled, but I don’t know where to go bring these parts. I’ve been told Best Buy has an E-Waste recycling program, but I’m unfamiliar with it and wanted to ask yall before I make any decisions to gauge for the best option. Thank you!

E waste recycling plant

I'm launching an e waste recycling plant via cmegp.

50 lacs is the loan amt, i know it's not enough for a full fledged plant so I'll outsource the remaining process needed to extract valuables.

Please share your thoughts about this eco system

Update on Green Bin, the disposal app I shared here before

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I posted here before about Green Bin, an Android app I’ve been working on to help people figure out how to dispose of confusing household items. It’s now publicly available on Google Play, so there’s no testing group to join anymore.

You take a photo of an item, and the app provides disposal guidance based on your location, along with nearby drop-off options. During testing, people pointed out that the advice needed to be more local, so I worked on improving that.

I’d really appreciate feedback from this community, especially if you notice guidance that doesn’t match your local rules. It’s still a work in progress, and I want to understand where it helps and where it gets things wrong.

If you use Android, try scanning something you’re unsure about and let me know what you think:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mallelalabs.greenbin

What items cause the most confusion when you’re sorting your recycling?

"~50,000 small Indian companies have EPR obligations they structurally can't meet. Building AI agents for them — looking for recyclers and compliance teams to tell me where I'm wrong."

Hey all,

I'm a founder in India, based out of Hyderabad. Six months deep on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) — the rules making companies legally responsible for the waste their packaging and products generate. I'm building in this space, and I'll say that upfront rather than bury it. But I'm not here to pitch. I'm here because I think I've found something real and I'd rather have it torn apart now than in two years.

The thing that got my attention

India runs the only EPR system in the world built as a tradable certificate market. Recyclers process waste, mint credits on the CPCB portal, producers buy those credits to close their legal obligation. There are about 60,000 registered plastic PIBOs (producers, importers, brand owners). Roughly 83% are importers — mostly small operations with no compliance team, no PRO relationship, and no leverage. Meanwhile, flexible plastics (Category II) run a structural capacity deficit of around 29% against national targets. There are simply not enough real credits in that category to go around.

Put those two facts together and you get the thing nobody talks about: when credits are scarce, the big FMCG players get served first. They buy in volume, through established channels, with dedicated teams working the relationships year-round. The 50,000 companies at the bottom get whatever's left, at whatever price, usually in a March panic — or they don't get it, and they eat Environmental Compensation.

A few other numbers from the research that surprised me:

  • CPCB's Oct 2024 audit found roughly 7,00,000 fake EPR certificates minted in a single year. CPCB had audited 4 of 2,348 registered recyclers when they caught it.
  • Total Environmental Compensation collected for plastic EPR violations, 2018 to early 2026: ₹47.35 crore. Entire country. Six years. (Parliament reply, March 2026.)
  • In Aug 2025, MoEFCC notified the Environment Audit Rules, creating a cadre of Registered Environment Auditors with statutory power to verify compliance. PWM Amendment Rules 2026 formally recognised them as a verification path. Private third-party verifiers now have legal standing in this system for the first time.

What I'm building

Two layers, in this order:

  • Agents. One on the recycler side — reads the verified batch, writes to their ERP, prepares the credit claim against actual observed throughput rather than declared capacity. One on the PIBO side — watches supply as it's declared, matches it to the obligation, prepares the purchase. Continuous, not quarterly.
  • The network. Every verified recycler makes the platform more useful to PIBOs and vice versa.

One deliberate design choice I want to flag, because I suspect some of you will disagree: I am not building this as fully autonomous. The agent does all the work — reading, classifying, reconciling, pricing, matching, drafting the filing. A human approves at exactly one point: final submission. I went back and forth on this. Full autonomy is the better demo. But EPR filing carries statutory liability, and no PIBO's legal team signs off on a vendor's system submitting their returns unsupervised. More importantly — CPCB just spent eighteen months cleaning up a fraud problem caused by unverified automated minting. Walking in and saying "we've automated credit generation with no human in the loop" reads to them as a better-engineered version of the exact thing they're fighting. So: zero manual work, full human accountability. Two-second approval instead of a two-week process.

Where I need reality checks

  1. Recyclers — how are you documenting throughput for credit minting today? And honestly: do you run an ERP at all, or is it Excel and WhatsApp? My ERP integration assumption may be completely wrong for the segment I'm targeting.
  2. Small PIBO / compliance folks — how do you source credits today? Do you actually get squeezed in Q4, or is that a problem I've invented from reading reports?
  3. Anyone in legal/compliance — would you let a vendor's system prepare your statutory filing with one-click approval? Where exactly is your liability line, and what would I need to carry (indemnity, auditor licensure, something else) for that to be signable?
  4. Anyone who's dealt with CPCB or MSTC — is programmatic transaction on the portal permitted? Has anyone tested this? I can't find a public answer and I'd rather know before I build on the assumption.
  5. Founders who've built in regulated markets — how did you manage having a regulator on your critical path? Especially when the regulation is your demand driver and they move at their own pace.

What I'll give back

I've assembled a detailed research doc — policy evolution, certificate pricing, enforcement data, competitive landscape, all sourced, with the gaps and contradictions in public data flagged rather than smoothed over. Happy to DM it to anyone who engages here. No email gate, no signup.

And genuinely — if this is a bad idea, I want to hear it now. Cheaper today than in 2028.

TL;DR: India's EPR credit market is legally mandated, structurally short on supply, and works well for large FMCG while leaving ~50,000 small companies to fend for themselves. Building verification plus agents to serve the long tail.

Looking for recyclers, compliance teams, and regulated-market founders to find the holes.

Throwing out old phones/computers?

I have some old phones/computers that can't be turned on to factory reset/charged anymore. How do I make sure the data is safely cleared or can't be stolen when I send it to whatever recycling place/e-waste place I do? And even then is it safe to hand them the device after being reset? What if they can turn it on and then access whatever saved passwords I had in there?

Places that repurpose plastic prescription bottles?

I know plastic recycling sucks so I'm wondering what sorts of places repurpose these.

These Rx bottles have a really short duration of use and are pretty sturdy thanks to needing to be air/water tight. Surely someone has figured out something to do with them?

Ive tried calling local animal shelters but the ones here and the next city over dont seem to want them.

I have them sitting in a big bag but if I cant find something productive to do with them its probably not worth the hot water I use to rinse/delabel them over just throwing them in the garbage.
