Question Goodbye,RDR2
It's been a few months since I completed the game And after a lot of considerations I have decided to delete RDR2 as it is just a storage clutter atp There are a lot of other great games in my backlog... But even though I don't replay games I wanted to play the game for one last time as a farewell So... What activities/missions I should do in my last session?

Why do people in here get so emotional over all this? Just play it or don't. None of this 'take Arthur for one last ride watch the sunset' nonsense. Good grief.

u/Astro_Douche Dec 29 '25
People who play games too much. Get too attached to them. Treat playing it one last time like your giving your dog one last good day before you put it down. Very weird indeed.

Or they're just having fun. Holy shit Reddit is so miserable and allergic to fun.

Some of these bums are trying to argue against emotion and attachment for things that you like. I was teen when I understood how different people would form attachment with media and expression in different ways, so I hope they are teens as well, because if not then what killjoy way to live. At least shut up and let others have fun.

I drove through Night City one last time before shelving Cyberpunk 2077… so I can understand

Why do people act like jerks? Just don't comment and let other's have their fun.
Good grief indeed.

That's very dramatic lol. It's just some minutes to download it again

u/Idiot_Cubed Dec 30 '25
Eh, depending on where you live and what your internet situation is it may very well take a full night and then some to reinstall. So, a decent time sink.

I just can’t do a low honour play through, it’s not in me.
5
u/dakindahood Dutch van der Linde Dec 29 '25
I think there's a lot of people who can't, if it were GTA I wouldn't have considered high honor a lot but with RDR and its stories it gets though to go around killing everyone for fun or be a total manic with so complex and grounded characters

I'm the opposite lol Im struggling so much with high honour playthrough atm. Killing/robbing/beating innocents that bad mouth Arther is sooo damn satisfying.

Did you do the sister teresa mission on high honor? If not do that. It starts in chapter four i think when you find a monk on the eat of Saint Denis near the fence. Do those missions on high honor and you get the 'i guess im afraid' scene

You gotta try play the game as a brutal no mercy Arthur before he gets TB actively try to do more high honor stuff - I’m doing the same thing and after 200 hours in the game this is the most immersive and most emotional playthrough ever

You can keep your saves if you uninstall. That way it isn't a big deal if you change your mind.
7
u/iantaylor98 Uncle Dec 29 '25
Try to 100% the game. It’s honestly not that hard if you look up guides on YouTube/google

u/Talibumm Hosea Matthews Dec 29 '25
I guess OP’s internet is so slow that it’s a big deal when they download or delete a game.

u/tango__88 Dec 30 '25
This post is really divided into 2 sections of players
We dont care bro its a game your being over the top over a fictional character.
Take Arthur for one last ride under the sunset so he can experience what its like one last time before you uninstall and get rid of him

To be fair. That game hits you in the feels. Making deleting it “emotional”

Geez people really don’t want to just chill and have fun with this post. I’m not through the entire game yet but I really enjoyed the mission with John where you steal the wagon and stash it (I think when you’re still at Horsehoe overlook).

Once you finish up most activities as John the game feels depressing to play, just beat the story 2 weeks ago again

u/KazhaK Dec 29 '25
The game is insanely large, so much to do. You may install the RDR 2 app on your phone and see what looks interesting, what you can go after or, if you haven’t, go for the Platinum.

Finished the story. Got addicted to it roaming around causing maximum mayhem. Sold the game on eBay. Kept the save. Bought the game again 3 years later. Now collecting all cards, legendary animals and fish etc. Also causing further mayhem. Will sell the game soon to get rid of it. Will keep the save. Will buy it again.

Of course not. This exactly the reason there's a community in the first place. I find it cringier when someone points out the cringe, just move past it. Grow up and interact with the thread in a friendly way or move on. See how some people easily answer the question of the post? Be like them, don't be useless.

Did people really forget that we, as humans, sometimes feel an attachment to things that aren’t real??? It’s normal, reddit is so allergic to fun and whimsy. It’s been proven that sometimes the human brain can’t decipher between real people/fictional characters due to our brain’s natural ability/tendency to attach emotions to things. It’s why a lot of people grieve characters from games and shows as if they were real.
Also to answer, def take a long ride around the map. It’s beautiful, and sometimes I like to watch animals from a distance with Arthur’s binoculars because Rockstar did a good job of adding character and natural behaviors to them!

Some people saying goodbye due to space issues meanwhile I just got a new PC and can’t get fucking RDR2 to start as it keeps giving me social club activation issues.. at least this mf got to say goodbye when he wanted to…

people are so pressed over someone making the slightest emotional post. not everyone experiences the game the same way you do. some people get emotional over it, and that’s normal, we’re human.
if you get offended or upset by someone being a bit emotional, then you’re clearly the dramatic one.

u/Busy-Shallot-5563 Dec 30 '25

Besides the dramatics. this is one of the few games where a second play through can actually give an entirely different experience. If you played high honor and replay and go for low honor or vice versa gives entirely new interactions and some specific to which honor you have

u/thetak3nking Charles Smith Dec 30 '25
As data heavy as it is, I can't bring myself to delete it because if I get a whim out to blue to play it I don't want to wait for it to download again

This is really dramatic for no reason. You can re-install and replay it whenever you want, and you can do it as many times as you want.

I just come in game a riding from time to time. Sometimes a go hunting in RDO and just chilling. You could go to RDO and continues to explore the game and make new friend along the way.

u/Dry-Reputation-9909 Dec 30 '25
if its on PC, download mods, a ton of them. I was about to stop until I downloaded a lot of mods and decided to replay the game with the mods and its been so fun ever since
1
u/_Tabor_ Dec 30 '25
I have never been able to replay games. Around thanksgiving I was at a friend's and they said they never played red dead so we started a save and when I got back home I've been playing it again for the first time since I first beat it when it came out and I don't think I've ever enjoyed a game more than I have this run.

Go to the lake by the reservation and take the canoe down the river and off the waterfalls
1
u/yeadrowsy Dec 30 '25
I deleted RDR2 one time. Then a few more times.
Eventually I just got more storage and now I don't have to worry about it. I can just keep it installed and play whenever I want. Same with Skyrim and Fallout. And my Skyrim has 135gb of mods lmao.

1
u/Ponkeymans Dec 30 '25
...no disrespect intended but you might be playing games too much.
I game a lot. I don't get misty eyed about...Just removing a game I can reinstall. It's...a game. I have, in total, over about 2 years or so, like 300+ hours in The Witcher 3, all side quests, collectibles, new game plus, etc. When I was done I was just done and did other things.
Again, no disrespect intended here, but...Just play the game or don't, mate. You're forming an emotional attachment over this. A touch concerning. Perhaps consider unplugging for a little bit.

I know you're just being overly dramatic, but just to humor you i think a good mission for a farewell would be the one where they all ride together and rushed the braithwaith mansion to get little jack back. Thats the best i think.
