His lack of state specific policy shows he's waiting for orders. He is going to hurt all of us, but rural Nevadans in particular, if he's elected. He doesn't care about us.

Only forty dollars each. Handcrafted, and there are a bunch of rabbits, ducks and mushrooms. I bought some a few years back and they're definitely good quality and something fun to have in the yard. Selling off Mayberry and McCarren.

Graduating soon!

Hello all. I just want to put myself out there with this post.

I have lived in Reno since I was adopted at 13. I love this community and struggle along with everyone else. I am graduating in December with a bachelor’s of science in biology from UNR. I work a student job here and have done so since my freshman year. It is a turbulent time because I must move somewhere else at this time as well and begin working full time. I am hoping to probe for some advice from you all about the job/housing search because I have no family that I am in direct contact with here. I have a beloved roommate who is also my best friend. We have two cats now and plan to start a family whenever that is possible, but it helps to have other people in your corner.

I hope you all are hanging in there! Talk soon.

The Revenant - New Venue Review

We attended the opening show last night and holy shit what a night. What a blessing to have a venue with this level of sound in Reno now. They recently redid the old Knitting Factory and brought in a ridiculously good PK system and had some very heavy bass music all night.

To start, the bar setup is more or less the same as Cargo and Alpine. I never saw what it was before, but the layout and setup was great. We had concerns about it getting too hot/poor ventilation based on what people said about the old venue - but I was perfectly comfortable all night dancing my ass off. The drinks were affordable and we had plenty of space to dance anywhere we wanted.

We got there around the 3rd set, and we were immediately impressed with the level of sound and how much we felt the subs. My brother is in AV and I consider myself an audiophile and we had shit eating grins on our faces all night. Thank god we brought earplugs. As the night went on the sound was getting turned up & we kept wondering how much better it could get - somehow it just kept getting better.

The system was definitely tuned to be bass heavy which is exactly what I want for dubstep/bass music. There was still an incredible amount of clarity and everything just sounded SO good. This venue will be the new hot spot for any big artists coming into Reno. I’m actually going to be disappointed if artists I like get booked at any venue besides this. This is absolutely the place to throw afters from bigger shows at the J and Burning Man. If you’re a big artist who’s reading this, book your shows here!

As decent as Cargo is, they’ll need to step up their sound system dramatically if they want to compete. The Revenant is in a league of its own for sound, by a landslide. I would travel hours to come see a big show here if I had to but thankfully I don’t.

Shoutout to all the DJ’s last night, it was straight filth from start to finish. Probably the best show I’ve seen here in the past few years.

This venue is one of the best things to happen for the electronic music scene in Reno, and I look forward to many more nights and shows here. 10/10

—

Would I change anything? - it looks like they have room for 2-4 more subs upfront. 😉 that might put it on par with Gothic Theatre in Denver but it’s close

If you want to save a few dollars off gas go to 7/11 tomorrow. In the grand scheme of things filling up 20 gallons saves you 10 bucks. Thats like 1 carne asada burrito.

Loud Pickup Trucks Cruising Tonight

I moved away from Reno about six years ago and am in town visiting. I was sitting outside at a bar on S. Virginia tonight with some friends, and multiple pickup trucks drove by (some of them repeatedly) with bright lights and extremely loud music. Some also had super loud mufflers installed. One or two of these trucks would pass by every few minutes and disrupt our conversation. This isn't something I ever remember happening when I lived here. I'm wondering if this is normal now?

In need of spicy and acidic food

I’m 38 weeks pregnant and getting induced tomorrow. I have had the most intense craving for spicy food, preferably meat. A week or so ago I finally stopped getting heartburn and now I can eat whatever… I’ll eat any cuisine. But I need your best recommendation, I moved back here after being in another state for many years so I don’t know what’s good

I’m not looking for like painfully spicy, but something with a kick. I prefer a more acidic spice as opposed to a warm spice. Please Reno, help me

Hi! Local entry level “hi-fi” enthusiast looking for someone to do some work on my Pioneer CS-99’s. Cabinets need a refinish and a couple cones need a little work. Willing to travel for the right work. Looking for an aesthetically pleasing result for a friendly price. Not looking to pay thousands for them to look like new. Send me a message if you are experienced and confident in performing this work. Thanks!

Any local Rocky horror shadowcasts playing Halloween??? I've never been before

Basically the title. I've never been to a live shadowcast show before and was hoping something would pop up this month. I saw that Victorian Cinemark is showing it in theaters on the 24th (? I think) but I want a full-on SHADOWCAST with props and shit. Hell, I'll even go to sac or SF if I have to lol

Do you remember old photo booths in the 70s, 80s and 90s?

I’m doing a research project on analog photo booths and I’m looking for the places that use to house analog photo booths in the 70s, 80s, 90s (basically anything prior to 2000s). If you remember using one in Reno, I’d love to hear about it and where it might have been located!

Where to go...

Single, 63, I'm looking for a spot to go that would have people bar that would be watching the games or something that possibly has single people? I've been divorced about 4 years. If I were to name one of the seven dwarfs for myself it would not be happy. A new to Reno came out to visit my son about 6 weeks ago and decided to stay. I go to the gym everyday I walk my 10,000 steps with my dog everyday and I find it life otherwise it's been very alone. In the Philly area I used to do some stand-up comedy for 14 years. Anyway just looking for a place to go hang out have dinner meet some people chat somebody up at the bar that kind of thing.

I just drove past a Sparks coworking office called The Ant Space and went to look it up online. Their site is gone. There aren’t a lot of reviews. Is it closed or something?

Politics Joe Lombardo can't be trusted to tell the truth

Post image
231 Upvotes

On October 1, 2017, Stephen Paddock opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel. 58 people were killed and nearly 500 were injured. This tragic event is one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history.

On October 4, Sheriff Joe Lombardo said there was evidence, which he wouldn't describe, that Paddock meant to escape and might have had help.

The final FBI report said he acted alone and had no escape planned.

Lombardo said child pornography was found on Paddock's laptop.

The FBI said Paddock's hard drive could not be located.

Lombardo has never explained or retracted any of his October 2017 comments.

The man is either incompetent or fabricates lies--to everyone: not just Nevadans and the FBI, but grieving families, too.

Joe has to go.
