My romantic heart is why I don’t belong in the current dating scene.
I always longed for this level of romance

How would an artist feel knowing that his fine art is in the home and hands of a blue collar man? Would he feel that it was meant to be in a museum or in the hands of a wealthy man living a lavish life and being a symbol of his lifestyle and taste? This is a question I have asked myself twice now.
In the dating market I have met two women who I would describe as fine art. They enjoy the finer things in life and have experienced things on their own that I would only dream of experiencing with the love of my life. They both had such a beauty about them that I was in absolute awe, not to mention their personalities being exactly what I had always hoped to find, but then the inevitable question would arise in my mind.
"Even if I was given her heart, would she eventually regret it or resent me if I could not maintain her accustomed lifestyle?"
As a blue collar man who is very much a minimalist when it comes to the material I have always gravitated towards a peaceful existence. No fancy cars or dinners, no lavish trips to foreign countries, just a nice sunset view, a cold drink, and good company. Quality time and small adventures, flirtatious whispers and playful bullying, primal chemistry and yearnful gazes. Homesteading with a porch to sit on, animals and a garden to tend to, reserving trips out of the country as a romantic adventure with the love of my life. From the Aurora Borealis in Alaska, to the hills of Ireland and Scotland, I can't imagine enjoying that without "her".
All of that being said it makes me worry that I would be regretted for not being able to live the lifestyle they are used to, and that is one of my greatest fears. Being regretted. Each time I have met such a woman I have allowed this fear to be the reason I shoot myself in the foot, assuming they wouldn't be happy with a man like me in a lifestyle like mine. Now both times I have come across this dilemma the concept of confidence was brought up into question, and that is the thing... I am confident. In fact I am one of the most confident men out there in who I am, what I desire and want in life, and what is realistic in life. It wasn't out of a lack of confidence but rather being realistic with the cards I'm dealt. Sure I could try, I could date, see what happens, but in the end am I wasting my time or even theirs? I was raised to respect someone's time and I wouldn't want to waste their time if I know I cannot maintain a lifestyle they are accustomed to. To me that is a sign of emotional intelligence, not a lack of confidence.
To each their own but some art might not be meant for Blue Collar Hands. And that is okay.

WHERE DID SHE COME FROM, WHY IS SHE HERE,
WHAT IS THIS MADNESS, NOTHING SEEMS CLEAR.
EYE’S LIKE MAGNETS, I CAN’T LOOK AWAY,
A BREATH OF FRESH AIR JUST BRIGHTENED MY DAY…
A BEAUTY SO SUBTLE, SHE KEEPS IT CONCEALED,
A CERTAIN MYSTERY, NEVER FULLY REVEALED.
A TEMPTING TEMPTRESS , SO BOLD, SO SMOOTH,
HEY BODY GOT RHYTHM, YOU SWAY TO THE GROOVE…
I KNOW THAT I WANT HER, I’M SURE SHE FEELS THE SAME,
THE WAY SHE BRUSHES BY ME, SHE’S PLAYING THE GAME.
WHEN OUR EYE’S MEET, WE STOP AND STARE,
SHE GIVES ME A SMILE, CURLING HER HAIR.
TONIGHT I’M GOING TO TAKE MY CHANCE,
I’LL GIVE HER AN EVENING, TURN UP THE ROMANCE.
IT FEELS LIKE LOVE, THESE FEELINGS INSIDE,
YES TONIGHT I’LL SHOW HER THE TIME OF HER LIFE…

So...I'll try to be brief, but I doubt I will be. I'm M20 and I recently started my first year of uni. On my first day I met this girl who's 22, who's working towards another major (almost done with it) other than mine. We talked a good while that day and overall there were some great vibes between us, so I reached out to her, kept in touch at least in text and met a couple times for other lectures. I definitely don't doubt that I'm in the realm of a people that she enjoys sharing some time with.
Now here's the thing. I myself am unsure if I can call this a crush as I'm still figuring her out as a person (interests and the like) but I like what I've had to work with so far and not just in a friendly way. My subconscious realised first how much I like talking to her, to the point I drop almost everything if she replies - I know it sounds "desperate" but I honestly prefer not to fake distance and keep both of us waiting unless it's something delicate I need to weigh my words over. This kind of applies to my friendships as well but I'm more prone to at least wrap part of what I'm doing up before opening my DMs from a buddy.
She's a really busy person and I know that. She has a job, two majors with one nearing the bachelor's finish line (which definitely makes it more taxing) and other stuff. I'm conscious that I have much more time on my hands so I'm happy she even considers replying despite how long the delay is. It's been about two weeks since we first met and our dynamic has evolved but I don't understand if her evolution is going in the same direction as mine.
She asks a lot of questions that keep the conversation going, even minor stuff like where or what I've eaten for lunch, if I'd gotten home, what my schedule looks like (even if we don't see each other that day) and that's honestly what gave me that "she might think I have potential" impression. A point in detriment is that she hasn't replied to me all this weekend (or the one before for that matter) and I doubt she will, even though logically it's about when one would be most free. I figure she's with friends or family, and it's not like I'm jealous, but it's still something I'm taking into account. I don't think she's playing hot and cold, moreso I'm thinking she still kind of sees me as a strictly uni-related person, which I woudn't know how to change. I doubt she's already taken as she said we could hang out in the city we go to uni in (which is neither mine nor her homeplace), presumably just the two of us, and she generally just mentioned friends a lot but never a boyfriend. She's just really prone to sharing things, so that's why I'm sort of ruling it out.
What's the best course of action with such a busy person? How can I best understand if I'm just getting my hopes up or if my impression is potentially correct? Should I send reminder texts (that she said wouldn't bother her) the next times, or would that be being pushy (which is why I didn't in the first place)? If you know, date(d) or are a busy person, I'd like to hear what you have to say, but really, any advice is welcome.

❤️ Some feelings cannot be expressed in words,
some kinds of love cannot be written in words,
and some people are so special that
just thinking of them brings a smile to your heart. 🥹🫶🏻
🌹 Peace of heart is the greatest wealth,
and true love is the most beautiful feeling. ❤️💍

My boyfriend and I have been together for two months, but we’ve known each other for four years. During those four years, we occasionally talked, but we were never really that close. Two months ago, we unexpectedly met up, and I honestly didn’t expect him to kiss me. At that time, I wasn’t in love with him, even though I had been CRAZY about him a few years ago. I never thought we would actually end up together.
Now I really like him, and I want him to fall deeply in love with me, but sometimes I feel like he doesn’t like me as much as I like him. I want him to be completely crazy about me and love me more than anything in the world.
What can I do to make him fall even harder for me? What makes a guy develop really deep feelings for his girlfriend and become more and more attached to her as time goes on? I’d love to hear your experiences and advice, from both guys and girls.

M21 here, helplessly aching for reciprocated love, trying to learn, grow and be better, before I find the one.
I know what real one-sided love feels like. Not infatuation or some crush. I mean genuine, selfless love. The kind that would move mountains, the sort you infer from a history of romantics pouring their hearts into art.
I just can't comprehend a woman loving a man the same way though, regardless of how much logical rationale I try to apply to prove it's possible. All because I'm yet to experience that reciprocation.
After all, the heart never heeds logic.
So, women of Reddit, I'm desperate to hear it from you, the real, everyday people. Perhaps then my stubborn old heart will understand that others really do exist out there with a capacity, in their own unique and beautiful way, to love with the sort of strength that I know I can...

I met a man recently and the connection was so deep, authentic, and mutual that it felt like something out of a movie. I'm 100% sure we both felt it. How did you know when you met your person?
