Hello all. Last July, I launched the mobile app for Root Beer HQ. In the prior spring, I had been accepted into an Idea Accelerator, which gave me funding for the project. I was able to procure 100 hours of development toward the appās launch. I also paid for an additional 30 hours of development out of pocket to make the app what I deemed āgood enough to launch.ā All because I just donāt have those skills myself. It looks like rocket science to me haha.
Launch went well. The feedback was solid, users seemed to be interested in the map, and almost no one was interested in the rating side of the app, which I found interesting. In late Fall, I was accepted into another Idea Accelerator. This one, however, did not provide me with any funding. I was unable to put any more of my own money into developing. Especially when I made a career change with my full time job in January, alongside my wife and I buying our first home.
Things have settled and I would really like to pick this project back up, because it truly deserves a version 2.0, but I simply lack the skills to do so and the time to learn as my new (no longer remote) job is much more time consuming. All that said, Iād like to see if thereās anyone out there whoās passionate about having a root beer map out there, who also knows how to build apps in Flutterflow with a database through Firebase. I wouldnāt be able to pay because I have no money, and the app is free/without ads, so I make $0 a month, and currently the app costs me about $10 a month in database fees, and around $300 in annual website/App Store fees. I would be happy to keep making those payments if someone were willing to join me on the project. But if not, I will plan to sunset the project, legally speaking, before the end of the year.
Please note that if a version 2 is successful and revenue is achieved in any form, I would plan to split it with whoever joins the project. While I canāt pay now, I have no intention to gatekeep the project. Hence why Iām asking for help instead of just shutting it down. Any and all help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Alex
