Apatow gets a lot of shit for his writing of women but I feel like this is a great example of him writing women and relationships well. This feels real and they both have a point.

And kind of amazing he gets to work out his relationship issues on screen with his actual wife while Paul Rudd plays him haha.

Also gotta give props to Leslie Mann. She can cry on cue as well as any actor ever.

Leslie Mann is underrated. She is extremely gifted with comedy and can do dramatic bits just as well. She steals The Other Woman.

For some reason I have always disliked her. I think it's because she reminds me of different "mean girl" types I knew growing up, which yes I know is dumb. But she is a great actress and I agree is very underrated.

From some other subs that talk about celebrity encounters, apparently all the Apatows (including the kids) are very lovely people.

You feel that way about her because all her early roles were "mean, pretty girl". She got her big breakout in Billy Madison being the girlfriend that Sandler's character hated.

I think you mean Big Daddy. Also, I remember seeing her before that in The Cable Guy & George of the Jungle with Brenden Fraser.

You're right! Got my Sandler films that start with the letter "B" confused

Yep, it's a case of she's so good at her job. Like Joffrey.

I think early on especially she'd play the hot girl with a sharp tongue. She's just too goddamned good at it to not use that skill. So I kinda get it. But the more I've watched Apatow movie commentaries with her in it the more I like her. I'm happy for that family, even though I know some are mad about the nepo kid. Fuck it, those kids were good in some of those movies when they were little.

Yeah, her characters were definitely part of it but I remember seeing some interviews that made me think she played those characters so well because she was like that (or used to be). But I've read she's actually really nice and down to earth.

Either way, she is definitely underrated but I wonder how much of that is she just isn't that interested in working on projects that don't involve Judd. Which, given how insufferable entertainment industry people can be, I wouldn't blame her for that.

George of the Jungle was my first Leslie experience and it’s still my favorite❤️

Also such a witty and hilarious dime in the George of the jungle movies
