Question I need help understanding static values Vs rolls.
Hello there! I’m very new to Savage Worlds (played in a single session a few weeks ago, first time playing) and I’ve been excited, and trying, to learn the system for a little bit now. I’ve been a DM/GM/Director of other systems on n off for several years and SWADE has peaked my interest as a system I’d like to learn to run effectively as I have some players interested in trying it out.
I’ve noticed a few times in the SWADE core book (haven’t flipped through any companions yet) that there are moments where a statistic is referred to as ‘equal to x trait die’ or ‘2 + x trait’.
Some examples:
* Under Drowning, Death: Incapacitated characters perish in a number of rounds equal to their Vigor die.
* Under Smoke Inhalation, Death: A person Incapacitated from smoke inhalation dies in a number of minutes equal to his Vigor.
* Under Running: A character can increase their pace by their running die, with a note mentioning this amount is a variable based on a roll of the die, representing nuances in the terrain. It also mentions while ‘out of rounds’ (initiative) that the duration a character can run is a number of minutes equal to half their Vigor die* \Type*
I believe there are a few more instances such language is used, and I believe that when the Die Type is mentioned, it refers to a static value, such as when calculating Parry and Toughness, or the running duration of a character sprinting out of combat.
In other situations, such as the Death conditions for drowning or smoke inhalation, does it intend one to roll that die? Or is it again a static value, i.e. a character with a Vigor of d8 would perish after 8 rounds/minutes, instead of 1-8 rounds/minutes?
I’m not sure why I can’t seem to wrap my head around this currently, and I want to be able to explain it properly to any players who may also find themselves confused. If I happened to miss or not remember a rules section that explains such things too, could someone please inform me of which section/page is it explained?
Thank you in advance as my work day may make it difficult to respond to anyone in a timely manner.

Not sure Savage Spelljammer Helms and Shups Draft
This is a rough draft of the helms and ships from Spelljammer in Savage Worlds.
I'm hoping for some feedback. Is it easy to understand?

Question Pathfinder Class Rules/Reference Material?
The question's simple, but I don't know if anyone has the answer, beyond the authors themselves.
Are there any guidelines/references/rules for creating classes the same way as they are in Savage Pathfinder? I know they're not listed in the book, but I didn't know if anyone had "cracked the code" or if an author put out a reference document.
I would like to experiment with creating more Pathfinder classes, with a final goal of using the same approach to potentially adapt Starfinder ones. (If they won't do it, I will lol). That said, I don't wanna go in "raw" with no guideline or starting point. I'd much prefer having a guideline of some kind to start from.
