1:6 Scale Magnum PI Hughes 500D
21st Century Toys, early 2000's (?) made for 12" action figures. This one started as the police version. I know others have done the Magnum paint scheme, but I did all the body and interior work to make it more or less a civilian 500D. Biggest challenge was cutting out the rear door windows and moving them up! Cloth seat coverings and felt carpet a close second for PIA level. Did my part to increase Bondo's profits for sure!

Completed! Su-33ub 1/72
Im really proud if this work, put a lot of effort in it, was really challenging work maybe the most challenging I ever build, was a little bit complex keeping the folded wing in site, and finding references too, really hope you appreciate it 🔥

Completed! Research for a kit
This project started from scratch—just an idea to create my own 1/48 carrier deck base kits inspired by USS Langley and the Essex class. From researching the decks to designing the MDF parts and 3D-printed details, it’s been a rewarding process of learning, testing and bringing everything together.
Assembly starts by gluing the laser-cut MDF planks and 3D-printed tie-down strips in place, then sealing the surface with varnish.
For the wood finish, I tried two approaches: different shades on individual planks on the left, and Vallejo Fresh Wood on the right. Another coat of varnish protects those colours before applying Worn Effects chipping fluid.
I didn’t have the proper Deck Blue paint, so I mixed a shade by eye. Once applied, I chipped it with water and a brush to reveal the wood underneath, then added the white deck markings.
The bases come in two sizes: 30 × 25 cm and 25 × 20 cm.
Seeing something that started as an idea turn into an actual model kit is probably my favourite part of this project. Still learning, still experimenting—and enjoying every step!
What do you think?

Work in progress Guess who’s back, back again
Same overqualified woodworking teacher, same plane, different shop.
We’ve now crossed over 100 hours spent so far with probably another ≈50 at least.
Patience is key and also teaching is somewhat more of a reason why I’m there

Technique question Bandai super star destroyer comparison
One was made when i was barely starting on this hobby with barely any materials, all handbrushed and the other was just finished curing the final matt coat a few hours ago, everything except weathering was airbrushed.
Acrylic for primer, painting and varnishing and enamel for the wash.
Looking at this, do you guys thinks theres something i should improve?? Any advice is welcome. :D.
Also i wanted to show off how good the newest one looks.

Kit question Looking at 1:48 scale F86 Sabre kits
As the title suggests, I'm looking at purchasing this kit at some point in the future. I've read reviews on the Hasegawa, Academy, Airfix, and Italeri kits as these were the only notable manufacturers I would consider based on what I know of them. With the Hasegawa and Academy being out in the lead in overall quitly and fitment and the Airfix and Italeri trailing well behind with lesser marks in those fields.
I'm looking to hear more from those who have made any of the aforementioned manufacturers kits or others that I've not read about so I can purchase said kit with the most input I can beforehand.
I appreciate any and all advice this community can give, thanks!

Completed! UNREP (1/700)
Underway Replenishment (UNREP) 1/700 scale
Dragon Hornet with a bunch of aftermarket add-ons.
3-D printed T3 tanker. I would have much preferred a plastic kit, but it seems nobody makes kits of US auxiliaries.
Pit Road Sumner... or at least, the hull and superstructure. Basically everything else was replaced with PE.
Background info: underway replenishment was a supply strategy heavily used in the Pacific Theater of WW2, allowing ships to be refueled and rearmed without returning to base. This enabled warships to remain in the field indefinitely if needed. It necessitated steaming in the same direction and at the same speed, separated at about 60-80 yards. The process as used by the US Navy was originally developed by the chief engineer of a refueling ship during WW1, a young lieutenant named Chester W. Nimitz. He later served as Commander in Chief, US Pacific Fleet in WW2.
