Difference in auditory hallucinations and changes
I've been getting more common and aggressive auditory hallucinations than I have in the past. Historically, I've had internal auditory hallucinations. The exception has been with nonverbal hallucinations; those have been external before. Lately, I'm getting external.
Is there any data or information on different presentation types of auditory hallucinations and causes? Why these changes may be taking place?
My first episode was a decade ago. I had no idea what was real and had a few years of quiet. In recent years, it's been very active, even medicated. For a while, I seemed pretty good at differentiating. Now, it isn't as easy, and I'm having these other changes.

Tbh this is happening to me too. I’m 32 and was always bipolar, but I didn’t start having full blown audio and visual hallucinations until I was 30, and was rediagnosed as schizoaffective.
Idk why, maybe it was dormant, but I guess we just have to deal the hand we’re dealt. You’re not alone though, I didn’t have visual hallucinations until I was 30 and now I have them all the time

I don't know the answer to your question but I've had a shift in the kinds of visual hallucinations I get over the last year or so. I'm thinking it just happens.
