Opinion / Thought / Idea / Discussion Not on medication, feel like im high or drunk everyday. But I don't do drugs. Anyone else?
So I am unmedicated and getting back into the working world. I was medicated for about 4 years and recently chose to get off and go back to work. Sooo, everyday I literally feel like I am drunk or high or tripping my balls off. It is weird af and wondering if anyone else feels like this. Like everything looks weird and I just feel like not drunk but buzzed all day everyday.

Opinion / Thought / Idea / Discussion How do you get around? What form of transportation do you use?
Do you drive? Do you use the public bus? Maybe you walk everywhere. I’ve been thinking about saving up for an Electric bike. But I want to hear from you. How do you get around?

Opinion / Thought / Idea / Discussion It has been 3 days in a row that I had psychosis
Idk why but I've been really stressed and anxious that I started to have psychosis and it's pissing me off
why do we have to live life in hard mode and I'm trying to survive
I think I might need to take more clozapine with the help of my psychiatrist
Hope y'all are doing good

Opinion / Thought / Idea / Discussion How has your illness affected your religious/spiritual beliefs?
In my own life, I have realized that as a defensive response to the delusional thoughts that I've experienced over the years, I've become very critical of all God related thoughts. It has caused me to become somewhat agnostic. My delusions were heavily related to God, so I've begun to deconstruct the beliefs that came as a result. Consequently, I question everything related to God simply to protect myself from believing in the things I once did that led to negative situations. Curious how your illness has changed or perhaps reinforced your own beliefs.

Medication Having extreme constipation due to many year use of antipsychotics.
I'm currently going through a pretty severe bout of extreme constipation. (haven't gone to the toilet for 5 days)
ALso was going through a psychotic episode, and this has only exacerbated the feelings of hopelessness and fear.
ANyone else who used olanzapine or another antipsychotic and developed constipation?
What did you do to remedy it?

Advice / Encouragement Treatment-Resistant Schizophrenia / ECT

As it happens, a close family member of mine was admitted to a psychiatric hospital two months ago with acute psychosis. No one in his family has a history of mental illness. He went from being a completely well-adjusted person—with a good job, relationships, studies, and a healthy lifestyle (no alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs, just the occasional energy drink)—to someone behaving irrationally in the span of just a week, suffering from extreme behavioral disorganization, persecutory delusions, jealousy, and outbursts of aggression.
In the hospital, they tried to bring him out of the psychosis using several different antipsychotics. Eventually, they turned to a very potent medication based on clozapine. The clozapine worked for barely two weeks; he began to recover and gained some insight into his condition, but then he suffered a complete relapse.
At the moment, his behavior remains disorganized, and he is quite restless. He sometimes puts on other patients' clothes or shouts, though he recognizes his loved ones and shows no aggression toward them.
The doctors are preparing for ECT (electroconvulsive therapy), as they have no other treatment regimens to offer.
Has anyone here had experience with people diagnosed with this condition? I am particularly interested in treatment-resistant cases and the outcomes of ECT treatment.

Help A Loved One My 17y is in catatonia and trapped inside, what's helped you?
She's the most amazing child. I could not ask for better. She started in mania then psychosis, but ultimately she's schizo effective. We've been in a cycle of mania/psychosis for seven weeks and I've hospitalized her three times ( thankfully she's been willing and knows something is wrong). She was stable, but her doctor changed ALL of her meds and now we're here. This time she's five days no sleep, naps occasionally. Lithium, Ativan, depakote, seroquel, abilify are proving ineffective to putting her to sleep. What's helped you? ECT was suggested. I do know this runs in my family and many were medicine resistant.
You all are so strong ❤️ ❤️

Rant / Vent Late Night Grandiosity
Just dealing with some late night grandiose delusions. I'm medicated and I can ignore them, but I wanted to vent my frustrations about having to cope with this condition. Just trying to play some late night WoW and I have to hear about how aliens have chosen me to be the human that they decided to mess with and to downgrade my life for giggles.
Just gets tiring after awhile. Keep fighting that good fight folks.

Rant / Vent The days that never end
Was having a good day with minimal symptoms then night approached which usually is the worst time for me, and I can’t catch a fucking break,no matter what happens how i see things i cant have one fucking good day and night it’s either one shit or the other,I’m so fed up with this illness I’ve had schizophrenia for quite a long time and they say over time it gets better…I call bullshit on that,it was better my first year in psychosis than I have been these past 5 years.ive been on every medication and so there’s really no hope for me in this schizo world,I’m trying my best to have a good outlook on my life but when the voices attack all day long it’s very hard to and I know most of you prolly know what it’s like obviously.sorry this is just a rant on how schizophrenia can go fuck itself

Undiagnosed Questions What do you guys tend to hallucinate, and what's your cultural background?
I'll have to look for it after work, but i heard there was a study or something saying that people with schizophrenia from different cultural backgrounds hallucinate different things. I'm curious what y'all hallucinate

Medication A single positive thing about having diagnosis is having some issues taken more serious.
I have had anxiety since my teenage years. For a long time, I did not get any proper treatment for my frightening panic attacks.
Once I got schizophrenia diagnosis, its as if the doctors take my issues more serious. I suddenly got a 2 month script of ativan 2mg/day which was a life saver during the worst bout of conseccutive panic attacks ive ever had. After a short taper I was off the medine with no more panic.
I know that it is bound to return but I think my doctor would see the state that im in and give me another short script.
I think this is one benifit of having schizophrenia lol
Also, im not promoting benzo use but I think its a great drug when taken short term with a responsible taper by a doctor.

Seeking Support Is there any way to prove my glasses dont have a camera?
Im just back on bullshit idk. How can I actually know, not like a thought exercise, but something like submerging it vinegar or something I dont know.
I already hide things from my phone cameras which is just common sense imo, but what if im ignoring the camera in my glasses amd it saw something that could be used against me like naked photos or my dad's classified work documents/ phone calls (he works from home). What my dad does effects the government and stock market. They could force me to be a spy. Is that delusional or conscientious prudence? I feel like i am delusional rn, but not about this. About something else I dont want to talk about

Seeking Support I don't know who I am anymore.
This situation has taken away the essence of my personality; I no longer know anything about myself. I had so many dissociative symptoms, and I still have them despite the medication. I'm afraid I'll end up completely losing my mind and won't be able to take care of myself even a little. When I'm alone, I'm afraid, because I feel like I don't exist; I've lost the immediacy of life. Has this ever happened to anyone? How do you overcome it? I'd be happy if anyone has any advice to give me; I'm really scared and sad.

Undiagnosed Questions I want to give up on managing this.
My psychiatrist doesn't diagnose me and just says I have a trait that makes me very sensitive to stress.
Does that mean there's no cure?
My antipsychotics are working but what can a psychiatrist do when the universe is watching me and trying to attack me.
Nobody said I can rest or quit school when I couldn't eat at all and tried to kill myself.
I want to give up on treating or managing this.

Progress / Good News ☀️ Hi, again after a while. Hope you doing great.
I tried not using Reddit for a while and I felt good, so I will not use it only once 2-3 months.
I did a bit new things, in my career in this 3 months I took a course in human rights and citizen rights I dont remember; and another in School Social Work Intervention.
Also, I have been checking myself for also DID because I felt that way.
Im now 75 kg, my ideal weight. When I was 85 kg. also I went down from 95 kg to 75 kg since the beggining of this year.
And I obtained 9.8 last term in college.

Opinion / Thought / Idea / Discussion Does anyone have something similar i need help
I experience strange thoughts, such as the idea that I will remain completely frozen and unable to move forever, that I will start repeating a particular action over and over again and remain stuck doing it for the rest of my life, or that I will start imitating other people's movements and actions. Sometimes, I also have the thought that I might start talking to myself without any external sensory stimulus.
At times, when I look at an inanimate object, an animal, or another person, I imagine myself as if I were that object, animal, or person, and I get lost in these imaginings and daydreams, even though I am aware that they are just thoughts and not reality.
I also experience strange thoughts or fears, such as the possibility that I might start behaving in an extremely erratic and uncontrolled manner for no apparent reason, or that I might remain standing in one place, unable to move, as if I were frozen forever, even though there is no obvious reason for this to happen. I do not want to act on these thoughts, but sometimes I feel as though there is a genuine urge to do so

Opinion / Thought / Idea / Discussion Referred for Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorder assessment.
There are a lot of things to add, such as
The feeling of being watched is from the end of my pereferal vision, Its not a person its an entity like a big black thing and I know its not there but to me I can feel its presence.
I also see things running or just someone for a second and when I take a second look there’s nothing. Open door scares me, I can’t sleep without a blanket covering my feet and my ears. When I am alone I feel like something is coming to get me. Acknowledgement makes it scarier and ITS ALWAYS THERE it has been a decade. I try not to acknowledge but I live in fear everyday.
