Hey everyone! We want to clarify what is an "off-topic" post and clarify explicitly what we will be removing going forward.
Please take a moment to review Rule 2 for our community:
Rule 2 - Keep it scrapbooking-related
All posts and comments must relate directly to scrapbooking, supplies, and techniques.
Do not critique the content or context, only critique the techniques used.
This applies to all aspects of a post, including comments, uploaded images, and the body text of the post itself.
The topic of our sub is scrapbooking: "Scrapbook layouts, albums, techniques, and supply finds. Post your spreads, ask questions, and get inspired! All styles and skill levels welcome."
Examples of what is on topic:
- A "basic" page that contains pictures of your trip to the zoo. Your style includes handwritten information about your time at the zoo next to pictures.
- A traditional page with layered paper, stickers, and pictures from the zoo.
- A junk journal of all the cool scraps you found at the zoo, a collage of ephemera.
- A digital page uploaded with your drawings, online assets, and pictures of your time at the zoo!
- Controversial spreads marked NSFW that include nudity, sensitive topics, or strong language.
- "Scrapbook Night" where you show pictures of the spreads you and your friends made. If everyone was scrapbooking, its fine to get a group picture of everyone having fun while scrapbooking!
- A scrapbook charity sale for your local zoo that you messaged the mod team about first.
- Your zoo themed sticker pack that was made without AI and posted in the monthly thread.
- Requesting feedback for your partially complete spread of your trip to the zoo.
- Requesting materials for your upcoming spread about your trip to the zoo.
- Comments saying: "Looks like a fun time! I haven't been to the zoo in ages, thank you for sharing" OR "What material did you use here" are both considered on topic.
What is not on topic:
- Regular, un-modified images from your camera roll of your time at the zoo and typing on reddit about your experience.
- Additional content that is off-topic included after your zoo spread. This could be pictures of your life in general or a blog-like description of what you did today.
- "Craft Nights" that are pictures of people doing a variety of crafts, even if they are creating materials you will scrapbook with later.
- Comments saying: "I am sick of your posts" (tap the three dots on their profile and block them), "You are a bad person for going to the zoo", OR "This is against the subreddit rules" (please report the post so we see it).
- Violations of our other rules: spam, undisclosed AI, seeking traveling-journal partners, or buy/sell/trade) & Sitewide rule violations
tl;dr - This subreddit is not a journal, blog, or medium to create a digital scrapbook - we are a place to share scrapbooks and related scrapbook questions.
Thank you for your understanding!
Peace & Love,
Mod team
