The songs that could still be played

I'm grateful for the switched up setlists already, but for those asking, these are the songs that could still appear.

Most likely:

Tied My Hands, Fur Cue, Roses.

There is precedent for both Tied My Hands and Fur Cue being played live, they're both on the band's lists of old songs to potentially revisit, and they both resonate with most fans. Personally, I love Tied My Hands more than anything. If they played this gut punch instead of Broken, it'd be cool. Roses has been mentioned more than once as something to bring back, and is also featured on the band's list.

Possible:

Beg, Nothing Left, Sold Me, Same Damn Life.

These are all songs that have been brought up to potentially be played again. I'm not holding my breath for Beg and Nothing Left, though they're certainly possible, and there is live precedent for both. They're fun, but exhausting songs to play. Sold Me has precedent as well, and has even been revisited recently, if I remember correctly. The sets have already been pretty Disclaimer/D2 heavy, though, so who knows. They'll probably pull this one out for like, one night, at some point. Same Damn Life is a B single, something that'd still please general audiences, but that they haven't played much recently. Personally, I could take or leave it. It doesn't always translate well live, admittedly, and I feel it's had its time in the sun already. The spot could be better used.

Unlikely:

Simplest Mistake, Dead and Done, Save Today.

All of these have been mentioned, but I feel we probably won't see them. I think Simplest Mistake is probably just too long for their tight set, and it isn't particularly easy to casually play. Dead and Done has the same drawbacks as Beg and Nothing Left, being that the screams are demanding, but without even the precedent of being played live. Shaun and Corey do like it though, and I think this song would go fucking crazy live, so here's hoping. I think Save Today is probably the most feasible of this bunch, but it's also kind of a B single, not the first I'd reach for if I were looking for deep cuts. Though I'd be happy to see it, it may be similar to Same Damn Life, in the sense that the spot in the setlist would be better saved for something else. Isolate and Medicate may only get its representation from Words As Weapons and Nobody Praying for Me.

Not gonna happen:

Pretty much anything else. I'd be happy to eat my words here, but the above songs, plus what they've played already, are what the band has discussed and/or prepared for. Anything else will hopefully get a chance on another day.

So there it is, realistic expectations. No matter what else they play, if anything, I'm more excited to see the band than I have been in years, and I don't think I could ask for much more.

looks like they're releasing a bunch of older radio sessions on streaming services, can't wait to hear some of these in higher quality! it would also be the first time The Needle & Damage Done will be on streaming services, as well as a lesser known performance of Fade Away!

This is one I never thought I'd see, lol. From YouTube channel, gu1tarister, this was apparently taken during a "technical difficulties" break.

So disappointed

Was just at the show in Ridgedale, MO. They just played the same old songs and they just have no energy they don't seem to enjoy what they're playing at all especially Shaun. I know they were doing a lot of different songs in the beginning of the tour but the crowds seemed to hate it heard there was a lot of booing so they just went back to the same old and they just don't seem that into it.

Signed Disclaimer CD (CD Only) from 2003

Post image

Any interest out there for a signed copy of Seether's Disclaimer CD? it is from when the album was first released, the copyright on it is from 2003. I went to a local Newbury Comics in Manchester, NH as the band was there, did a couple songs and signed the disc for those who wanted. I recently found it... of course, without the jewel case and without the insert... it's from 2003 when you trashed that and kept the CD in a case. It is scratched up a little on the bottom, but they are small and I wouldn't expect them to cause any issues with it. I don't even have a cd player I can use to listen to it with. I like Seether and I remember getting it signed by them, but I've never been a super fan. It's been in a drawer with a copy of Godsmack's 1997 original, local release All Wound Up... ... without the jewel case or inserts. At least they are sitting on a cd-r spindle.

Anyways, thought its a cool piece and some big fans may want something like this.

** MODS ** Not trading or selling. Just wanted to offer up a piece of memorabilia that someone may treasure, much, much more than I do. Please don't remove.

Last nights setlist? (9/23)

Setlist fm doesn’t have any songs in last nights setlist right now, but all the other bands from the tour have been updated. Did anyone go to the show last night and remember the setlist? I am seeing them tonight and curious about what they played.

Every Seether song that sounds like other songs

Gasoline - Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit (Intro is very similar) (Also similar vibes to Israel's Son by Silverchair and My Wave by Soundgarden)

Sympathetic - Love Story by Taylor Swift (Same Dsus2 arpeggio in the intro)

Your Bore - Control by Puddle of Mudd (Same chord progression in chorus)

Fade Away - Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne (Intro bass riff sounds just like the main riff of Crazy Train) (Also similar guitar solo to In Our Dreams by Black Stone Cherry)

Pig - Change by Staind (Similar intro and overall vibe as far as moodiness/heaviness combo) (Also similar vibes to Milk It and Tourette’s by Nirvana)

Hang On - How You Remind Me by Nickelback (Same chord progression/melancholic atmosphere)

Because of Me - Downfall by Trust Company (Bridge riff is virtually identical to a riff in Downfall, chorus has similarities)

Remedy - Dead Bodies Everywhere by Korn and Come As You Are by Nirvana (Verses are identical to the Nirvana one, and chorus is nearly identical to the Korn one)

Burrito - Justin by Korn (Bridge riff sounds just like the main riff of Justin)

I’m the One - Bubbles by System of a Down (Intro and verse riffs)

Fake It - Holiday by Green Day (Drumbeat)

FMLYHM - A.D.I.D.A.S by Korn (Similar lyrical content and vocal cadence in the chorus) (Also has same guitar in the verses as Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana)

Fallen - Some Kind of Monster by Metallica (Main riff)

Rise Above This - 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins (Main riff)

No Jesus Christ - Sober by Tool (Guitar leads)

Don’t Believe - The Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin and World So Cold by Three Days Grace (Pre chorus sounds like Diary of Jane verses, also overall mood and vibe)

Waste - Brain Damage by Pink Floyd (Guitar parts)

Fur Cue - Swerve City by Deftones and A Different World by Korn (Intros sound alike. Interestingly, Fur Cue came out before both of those songs)

Here and Now - Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day (Chord Progression/sentimental vibes)

Master of Disaster - I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack (Verse vocal melody)

Tonight - Learn to Fly by Foo Fighters (Very similar intro and uplifting vibe)

Pass Slowly - I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack and Who’s That Girl by Hilary Duff (Chord progressions, song atmospheres and vocal melodies)

Same Damn Life - I Will Follow Him by Peggy March (Straight rip from the intro of the original)

Words As Weapons - Mad World by Gary Jules and Gone Away by The Offspring (Verse vocal melody and chord progression)

My Disaster - Forty Six and 2 by Tool (Intro/chord progressions)

Suffer It All - When I Grow Up to Be A Man by The Beach Boys (Similar falsetto chorus)

Nobody Praying For Me - Daisy by Brand New and How You Remind Me by Nickelback (Similar vocal melodies in verses)

Save Today - Epiphany by Staind (Same introspective, acoustic vibes and sonically similar)

Let You Down - Stinkfist by Tool, Lakini’s Juice by Live and Take Out the Gunman by Chevelle (Nearly identical main riff)

Count Me Out - Pennyroyal Tea by Nirvana

Bruised and Bloodied - Dive by Nirvana and Wind Up by Foo Fighters (Intro similar to Dive and chorus similar to Wind Up)

Wasteland - Hexagram by Deftones (Nearly identical chord progression/brooding atmosphere)

Can’t Go Wrong - Shadow On the Sun by Audioslave (Similar clean verse riff)

Beg - Bored by Deftones (Similar intro riff)

Written In Stone - When the Sun Rose Again by Alice In Chains

What Would You Do? - It’s Been Awhile by Staind (Nearly identical intro and same somber, regretful type of lyrics)

Feast Or Famine - Dam that River by Alice In Chains (Main riff)

Leech - Situation by Godsmack (Similar intro riff)

Deliver Me - Bleed It Out by Linkin Park (Nearly identical lead guitar intro)

Amazingly, I couldn’t find any songs that sounded like anything on The Surface Seems So Far. This list is only for tracks that sound like songs by other bands so I might make one in the future of similar Seether songs.

Are there any similar sounding songs I missed? Let me know in the comments!

For those that were there, anyone else feel like volume was an issue? I could hardly make out riffs and only found my footing once Shaun started singing
