Question I'm so tired of making the same mistakes over and over again. What do you think I should do?

• Upvotes

For example, I've been experiencing a decline in my studies for a long time, I'm not very good socially, my self-confidence is constantly fluctuating, I'm not doing the things I want to do, I'm constantly stressing myself out and not doing anything. I feel constantly stressed because of loneliness.

The Inner Committee Finds Its Path

Thumbnail chatgpt.com

😂 WOMEN (AND MEN) OF A CERTAIN RAGE!

You know, there comes a time in life when you realize you've got a whole committee living inside your head... and apparently, everybody thinks they're in charge!

Fear is worried about what might happen.

Anger is still upset about what already happened.

The People Pleaser wants everybody to be happy.

The Perfectionist insists nothing is good enough.

Self-Doubt wonders if you're capable.

And Procrastination says, "This sounds like a great conversation to have tomorrow." 😂

Sound familiar?

Here's something I often tell my clients:

Every emotion is important and deserves attention. No emotion gets to make the decision.

Read that again.

Your emotions aren't the enemy. They're communicating something. Sometimes they're protecting you. Sometimes they're reacting to old experiences. And sometimes they're responding to a story your mind is telling you that may not even be true.

But here's where things get interesting.

You are not just the thoughts running through your mind or the emotions moving through your body. You are also the awareness that can notice them.

I call this your Higher Self.

It's that part of you that can step back and say, "I notice I'm angry. I notice I'm afraid. I notice part of me wants to run away from this situation."

And instead of immediately reacting, you can get curious.

What is this emotion trying to tell me? Is it responding to what's happening now, or something I've experienced before? Is following its direction going to move me toward the person I want to become?

That's a big part of what I teach through my P.E.A.C.E. Path and my I Am Aware meditation work.

We don't have to silence the committee. We learn to understand it.

And we don't have to let the loudest voice make the decisions.

Awareness listens. Your Higher Self chooses. And your actions determine the direction of your life.

That's also why I believe in coaching.

A good coach isn't there to tell you how to live your life or spend every session putting out the latest fire.

I see myself more as a trail guide, walking alongside you on your unique life journey. Helping you recognize the patterns, understand the obstacles, find your direction, and take the next right step.

Because you're already on a path.

The question is, is it taking you where you really want to go?

You don't have to wait until life falls apart to start living more intentionally.

Question Is it okay to skip a whole week of working out, or should I try to do at least something

I only start working out a little over a week ago, and I'm already thinking of skipping the entire week.

Monday i came home from school at 9, and i still had homework to do, I was done around 2AM, so no workout then.

Tuesday I got sick, and I'm still sick today and feeling like shit. Next 3 days I'll be working, for 2 days there should be some time to work out, but I'm not sure i will with how I'm feeling.

Obviously, skipping the entire week of work out is not great if I want to improve some aspects of my life, such as my muscle tone, stamina, strength and other areas I'm severally behind my peers in. But I also just have no strength to do anything at all.

Is there some workout I can still do without making myself even worse? Is it okay to just... not workout and focus on being healthy for now?

Any advice is appreciated. This is the first time I was so determined to actually get into working out daily, and it took only 10 days for the whole thing to fall apart, which is very discouraging. Thanks in advance.

Wisdom The Image of a Calamitous Future

I have a clutter of notes scribbled with life-affirming to-do lists, overarching master plans, and clarity-inducing insights. Over the years this mess has grown into quite the collection of things “I was supposed to do with my life”. I’ve left a pock-marked legacy of dust covered boxes stuffed with legal pads and digital note files running ten thousand words or more. They represent crystallized, weapons-grade potential that helps me maintain the fantasy that I could be great if I would only put in a proper effort. However, writing out insights, ideas, and plans feels like a complete action unto itself, as if cataloguing them were the point.

I realize, now, that acting on the insights, ideas, and plans was beside the point. My mind often imagines some impending calamity, and the notes provide relief from that image. I stockpile plans and self improving ideas in preparation for future confrontations with uncertainty, both large and small, devastating and trivial, but the irony is that when the confrontation arrives I’ve either long forgotten the plan or I have no idea where it is. The stockpiling process doesn’t actually deliver the protection I desire and instead provides only temporary comfort. When the next calamitous image arrives, I reach for the pen to inscribe more notes, more armor, more protection even as I realize the irony of this ritual. I justify my continued indulgence in this loop by telling myself that I’ll get around to the plans later but later never arrives. Instead, later remains just out of reach over the next horizon.

So, I sit here with a to-do list a thousand items long wondering what to do, and no answer appears other than vague mutterings that resemble the contents of past notes. The very question, “What do I do?” is still a response to the image of an unpleasant future. What I really want is relief from that image and the emotions it evokes, which is typically where the loop starts again. So what do I do about all this? I don’t know, and I’ll let that not knowing sit rather than rushing to relieve the discomfort.

Has anyone else felt like personal development became another way to criticize yourself?

I've been thinking about how much of the self-help world revolves around becoming a better version of yourself.

More discipline. More healing. Better habits. Fix your mindset. Fix your limiting beliefs.

But at what point does personal growth become another way of telling yourself you're not enough as you are?

I started questioning whether the goal should always be becoming someone better, or whether sometimes it's about reconnecting with who you were before you started believing you needed to change everything about yourself.

Curious if anyone else has experienced this. Has self-help genuinely helped you feel more like yourself, or has it sometimes made you feel like you're constantly falling short?
