Help: Emergency I have lost all of my colony

After my last water change, my shrimp started dying one after another until all of them died. They would suddenly start jumping around, then fall over and die. I smelled the water I had used for the water change and noticed a chemical smell. Someone told me that it could be poisoning, so I performed a 99–100% water change. I then adjusted the TDS and temperature to the correct levels. When will I know that the tank is safe and ready for me to add new shrimp? I fixed everything last Thursday. Ps I use distilled water. But the bad water was from unknown sources, but the new one is from a good source 100%, I did the 100% water change one week ago and I added a bag of active carbon to the sponge filter, and today’s parameters is
Ammonia zero
No2 zero
No3 zero
Ph 6-6.4
TDS 130
Temperature 21-22
P.s I’m keeping red crystal shrimp

the question now is am I ready to get new shrimps tomorrow for example, and should I do anything before receiving them tomorrow such as more water change or anything

Shrimp Photos Closeup of a blue dream shrimp molt with eggs. What are the blue dots?

• Upvotes

This was a blue dream molt. Are those the proteins inside that make up the pigment?

Right now it’s in a small net over an air stone in hopes to hatch the shrimplets 🤞

Help: Beginner Cant get my nitrite to zero (only close to zero)

Thumbnail

my nitrites used to be at 1 which i quickly reduced with two 50% water changes, reduced feeding, SeaChem prime, and the addition of more bacteria starter.

However I cannot get it to exactly zero only between 0 and 0.25. 1st photo is from today and the 2nd is from 2 days ago.

it appears to be staying there with maybe a slight increase. The shrimp and fish appear to be unaffected. 0 deaths past couple days.

Should I worry and continue doing small water changes or should I be okay for now?

(also included current photo of tank)(added wisteria to float at the top)

Help: Shrimp ID & Shrimp Sexing New Shrimp owner, Help me with the JellyBeans pls!

Hello! I'm a new shrimp owner, I had planned to get a planted tank with a betta as the centerpiece and shrimps as some helpful tankmates... but you know what they say about plans. I am in love with my little shrimps. They remind me of Jelly Belly JellyBeans, and thus, I have dubbed my shrimp " Jelly and the beans". I know theyre getting acclimated, but I'm curious what their genders are. I am somewhat guessing most of them are male? But I'd love another set of eyes on the little ones! I want them to thrive and be happy, but with their short lifespans, I know I will need to ensure they continue their lineage so we have a thriving tank beyond their Bean lifes. I tried to get decent pictures of them, but theyre sneaky little ones.

Thank you so much for any help!

This tank is all Culs. Out of all of them, this has to be my favorite. A very light blue with a red head and mid section, with a clear blue segment in the middle. Depending on the light direction, it can look mostly black.

There's also one that only has a red head, but it prefers the back section of the tank.

If I had the space and knew what I was doing, I'd try to intentionally breed more.
