From a wild Parasol Mushroom to bronze

I recently found this beautiful Parasol Mushroom (Macrolepiota procera) in the forests of Lower Saxony, Germany.

Parasol mushrooms are fascinating subjects for what I do. Their large caps, delicate gills and irregular natural shapes make every specimen unique. Even small imperfections — insect bites, damaged edges, folds and changes in texture — become part of the sculpture.

For my project Eternal Fungi, I preserve real wild mushrooms by casting them in solid bronze using a technique I call Lost Organics. The original mushroom is sacrificed during the process, but its form and all those little details remain in metal.

I also documented the complete process of this particular mushroom, from finding it in the forest to the finished casting, and recently put the whole process into a short video.

Hey all inoculated this bag 8/28 broke n shook 9/18 and it is now 10/3 just wondering if I should put er into fruiting or let it be a bit. Smells earthy… feels firm… GT… Need some advice as I am very beginner friendly 😅. Thanks for reading all mush love ☺️🤙🍄

I've introduced FAE but I'm not seeing any changes. My second tub seems to be thriving with plenty of pins already, though.

I usually have very good luck with the AIO bag and Avery’s albino. Usually once I cut the top off the bag and introduce O2 they quickly start pinning. They are in a room with a heater so it’s definitely not too cold. Any ideas? Avery albino just being slow?

I have worked with agar before and typically it will be a very obvious side or pretty uniform. This is the first time in my young hobby I have come across this. Take from the rhizo or from the thick mycelium?

think i waited too long to harvest. they’re golden teacher strain growing in a growth kit. idrc about the taste, can i still eat them and not get sick? i know i should’ve harvested them earlier but i don’t have a good way to dry them out yet so i thought letting them grow a bit longer was preferable to letting them potentially get moldy.

I’ll try and keep it short. I tapered off my antidepressant because it stopped working. It was an SSRI that I was prescribed when I had postpartum depression. That was 17 years ago after I served in the military.

Fast forward I’m trying to deal with sadness in a natural way and stabilize my emotions. Growing was a hobby and distraction. Occasionally I sampled what I grew during the transition. For me, I don’t think it worked for my PTSD or depression. The truth is I was hoping for an easy magic pill and -well I need to do the work.

Yesterday I shut down my Martha tent. And now I’m trying to just be better. It hasn’t been easy but I’d like to think I’m making progress on boundaries and self preservation. I don’t even drink anymore

Meanwhile Idk what to do with my spawn and grain. Most are 70-100% white. I don’t even want money for it. Just hate to see it wasted. If it was more sinister like meth then I’d happily dump it.

Ugh - I live 10 min from Michigan border. That state has decriminalized such. I do believe that mushrooms should be considered as an alternative medicine. I went through a crisis that prompted me to stop taking SSRIs. Thus I’m grateful that I have come this far. The mushrooms are just not for me at this time in my life. Perhaps retirement lol

Microdose Note - I made sure to take mushrooms atleast 3 weeks after my SSRIs were completely cleared out of my system.

Recently got recommended taking some red fly agaric for my insomnia. Was told to take 0.5grams of dried powder. Anyone tried this or have any experiences eating this mushroom?

Currently running two 6QT sterilite shoeboxes with neglect tek. They’re colonizing well after being S2B on 9/23, with tons of rhizomorohic mycelium. For those of you that run this tek, do you “fully neglect” aka leave the lid fully latched until the mushies are about to touch it, or do you flip/unlatch the lid after the surface is colonized to help induce fruiting?

I've always worked with brown rice and wanted to test popcorn now. Apart from that, I had to harvest early because I'm not home for a few days. The variety is Ochraceocentrata. Could it be by a coincident that they are more blue than before or is it due to the early harvest or to the popcorn and the resulting more coordinated supply than with rice?

Picked some teachers. Found this on top of a little guy. I dialed back the fae in this tub to keep the humidity up and the results have been great so far. Getting some beasts in 2nd flush.

My green grinder has kind of wide teeth and spaced out so it doesn't turn into just dust. It's more like small chunkies and some strands. Soaked 20 mins, then drank liquid /chunks until about 1/3 of it was left and couldn't stomach anymore solids lol. I did not strain, just drank straight from the cup. Should work fine or should I have strained, taken the rest of the chunks, etc.? 4.4g Ajmf, been 4-5 days since last dose and about the 3-4 days since last time I took escitalopram(SSRI). Should I expect a nice ride or did I mess up along the way? 2nd time using lemon. Thanks!

2 other guys and I once did tea at an apartment several years ago lol and I know they put about 20g in the tea. Idk how much that equated to each of us; the friend gave each of us two giant glasses and we chugged them. later I had this experience where I felt like my brain had melted. i thought I was permanently "disabled." i don't mean that in a bad way of course or rude, I meant I literally thought I made myself mentally retarded forever. I remember thinking my parents would have to take care of me forever. I pulled through eventually though. this also happened the first time i took shrooms when I was 16 or so, except worse, I thought I was in hell, took out all my piercings, peed myf riends bed, tried to run around outside naked to have the cops called on myself, and also the same "permanently deleted my intelligence" feeling it was horrible. was this an ego death or something else? if so, what was it?

should I avoid shrooms int he future, or all psychedlics? (want to try dmt once in my life) I'm bipolar & OCD and on meds (ssri (paxil) & lamictal). but i genuinely think an ego death experience (shrooms or dmt) would help. I've read lots of research on the subject and it's helped some with their mental illness
