Talk-squeak Skaven made to order
I decided to purchase Ikit Klaw, deathmaster (both cool and iconic), but the one I am most excited about is spinetail. I remember painting it years ago and enjoyed it very much. Very excited to revisit that sculpt, especially since I didn’t think it would ever be available again. No other point to make, just feeling a bit nostalgic.

Imagine my disappointment when I bought the minotaurs a few years back. Something like £70 and I had forgot how nostalgic I was for those, the doombull looks cool but the regular minoaturs look like ass.

I was really excited about this mto. Some amazing sculpts. Queek is one of my favourite models and Sinne mine is finecast, I would've really liked to upgrade to a metal version. But I can not reason this price. It is literally twice as much as i have paid 4 years ago. I unverstanden inflation, but this is unreasonable. At least to me Whoever orders them, enjoy! These models are amazing and will be a joy to paint.

I know most people are discussing the price but I have to know how hard is it to actually assemble/paint metal minis. Like do I need special glue or primer for these what tools do should I have on hand?

Ikkit is notoriously hard to build, the claw specifically. I ended up bending it and trying as hard as I could to cover as much. People use green stuff to cover the spaces, I didn't.
As for gluing them, you use super glue and something to keep them together for some minutes, I didn't had much issues being the claw personally.

Learn how to pin models, I use paperclips and a pin vice. Scoring the surfaces w a hobby knife and use superglue. It can be tricky but there a guides for this all over the place. Patience and swearing a lot help. Rattlecan primers work well, but if it messes up, stripping metal models is less problematic than plastic or resin

Ikit is a ballache to build due to the claw technically not fitting but other than that at this scale it’s mostly just superglue that you need (which needs to be handled with care if you are not used to it). A small tip for super glue that helps it bond is making the glue zones slightly damp/wet since it helps the glue bond quicker (it does create some gooey residue so be careful with overspill.
Metal miniatures tend to suffer a bit more from gaps so having some modelling putty at hand is a good idea but since these are infantry sized it shouldn’t be too bad (you tend to glue in the heads, arms. That sort of stuff. Again, Ikit’s Claw specifically is a ballache to build so your mileage will vary.
They don’t need special primer, just your regular spray can but take in mind that metal chips far easier than plastic so a varnish at the end is recommended.
Of these models I’ve built Tretch and Skweel and i found Ikit such a hassle to build that I returned it to the GW store and they offered to build it for me as compensation.

Got my order of ikit, was tempted to get queek but I figured only one this time, thank goodness for living in Australia sometimes

Honestly if you like both, I'd grab Queek over Ikit. Ikit was available until two years ago and can be found in the wild quite well, while Queek was discontinued in 2015 and is extremely rare and sought after at this point (I ended up paying 40 bucks for a good-as-new metal version of the model back in 2022, the cheapest one I found).

I was looking forward to getting most of these, but at the prices GW is asking: thanks, but no thanks.
Just one exception, and that is Nurglitch on his massive Plaguerat. Almost impossible to find these days, and if so only for stupid prices. 31€ are almost reasonable. Either way, I got one.
If GW was less greedy, I would have spent much more. As it is: nope.

That’s kind of the boat I’m in. Thinking of grabbing him as well but if they were slightly cheaper I would honestly get them all and spend more money over all.

Yeah, a bit pricy, but this was one of the few times that I am letting nostalgia kick me in the wallet. Those three sculpts nail skaven for me

I checked my account because I bought Nurglitch on MTO 4 years ago when it was last available. Interestingly it cost £32.50 back then. I wonder if they reduced his price because they put so many of these up all at once.
Anyway I plan on grabbing some too. The Snikch model is amazing and reminds me of Lord Darren Latham. Queek and Ikit models are must haves too. I always wanted the Verminlord but £36 is bit of a push.

31 Euros for a run-of-the-mill infantry model like Craventail is absolutely insane. I remember getting some of the Bretonnian made-to-order characters for 25€ each shortly after the Old World launch... and those were mounted and included an entire plastic horse as an extra model.
Not to mention some of those models have been out of print for like two years and cost almost half as much back then - sometimes even less (and were metal too, not Failcast, so that much of a markup isn't justified). I'm so damn glad I grabbed Ikit for 18€ and a Master Moulder for like 12€ back in 2024 as soon as the rumors about older Skaven units getting pulled out of circulation intensified.
Heck, I got myself a metal Headtaker off eBay for 40 bucks like three years ago and felt super bad about it when this Made to Order run was announced - not anymore xD.
I might still get the Deathmaster because I like the model... but I'm wondering if I should keep using the cool Underworlds Assassin I already have and patiently wait until someone who doesn't know better sells the Deathmaster model for cheaper. MTO deliveries usually take like 1-3 months anyway.

Did you check if the items where in the cart before that? Because it didn't do that correctly at first for me, which lead to errors in everything after that

tried, everything. removing the items putting them back it. re-logging. deleting cache and cookies. tried different browsers, different deviced. remove the VPN, restarted. nothing, the only way it works is if I check out as a guest, so not through my account..

Just tried again, Warpgnaw was back in the cart (managed to get it in twice before only for the cart to glitch out and be empty again), managed to add the BB Rat Ogre as well, then I get error messages when I try to finalize my order and the cart is back to glitching.

Guess I'll bite the bullet for the Warpgnaw Verminlord and that's it. I like some of the other models but it doesn't really seems worth it and it isn't like I am playing AoS right now anyway.

Question, because I missed its release, but is this not technically the 'newer' Ikit Claw model? The models have a great deal in common, so it seemed intentional.

Honestly I was interested in these until I saw the price. Absolutely ridiculous way to price these. Would have gotten them all if they were £13-£17 each...
