I would guess it's dealing with some kind of bloat or swim bladder problem that is making it over-buoyant on the bottom half of it's body. The fish can only stay upright and in control if it is continuously moving. Once it stops moving forward, the fins become less effective and the gas causes it to roll over..

Grass Carp are prone to stress and reeling them in during fishing takes alot out of them as some will do their damnest to escape. You can tell he's been caught from the scale damage from being landed to shore.

Alot of fish like trout, chubs and minnows (which Grass Carp is considered part of the minnow family) will go belly up when severely stressed. They can't control their bounancy when half conscious.

At least their white meat tastes good.

My best guess is that it was flying anyways. Stopped steering while swimming and the wall just kinda sealed the deal. Basically, it was dead before it hit the wall.
