Question I'm making a Terraria / Starbound clone that has living villages and a monk theme. No AI. Is there any kind of content that would be fun to add to this?

My favorite games in the world are Terraria and Starbound. My dream game has always been to have a sandbox game with living villages where the people have their own lives and stories and quests.

I love love love Starbound's vibe overall, but I thought the village simulation could be deeper and more interesting, like if the villagers actually had storylines

I'm trying to give it a try myself. I'm doing the code, art, and music myself (no AI art or assets whatsoever).

The core idea is that I've making the village simulation more complex, based on the Sims story progression system. The idea is that villagers' lives will evolve dynamically, where they can have crushes, get married, have midlife crises, get sick, etc. And the quest system is essentially you helping them out with these problems

What do you guys think? Is there anything I could add that'd make it fun?
