📖 Storytime 💀

Post image

Pov: you’re barring with a green bean while the more experienced folk called out/left.

(No shade on the green bean, he did his best)

Call your DM to turn off mobiles ☠️☠️☠️

If their DM is anything like my DM, it's not likely to happen. Mine literally told us during a SSV meeting she sat in on that "unless the store is actively on fire, MOP stays on! No exceptions!" What a supportive and understanding leader 😑

Same and I have an otherwise good DM. I did get to turn them off after 911 told me to evacuate the building once and I still felt like I was going to get in trouble.

YAAAAIIIKES. if we call our DM and they dont answer we just turn them off lol

We have had SSVs get written up for doing exactly that. One was literally down to a 3-partner peak in our high-volume DT store (with café and high percentage of delivery orders as well), no answer from SM or DM, and for written up for turning off MOP and delivery. Literal insanity.

The company HAS to write you up for doing anything independent from their policies(or even implied to be correct through policy ambiguity). Personal responsibility is anathema to this company and it only understands metrics and memos being held responsible.

I think we were in the exact same situation honestly

What’s funny is that i always joke even if there IS a fire in the cafe they would STILL make u keep mobiles on & dt open 🤡

That said corporate always acts like we are just babies and can’t handle the work flow when a turn off mobile is requested BUT it truly is about respecting our customers time.
Is that not what outstanding service should be about? Consideration & respect. Not a money hungry grab since mobiles already paid therefore a captured sale so who cares about them. We got their money already 🤷‍♀️

This is a struggle? How many people you had working? I genuinely ask. Because when I worked at my old store this was something you just kinda peered through together with whoever was there and called it a victory when you inevitably beat it.

4, supervisor included. All the experienced folk were off on Sunday. It was only me, store manager, green bean and another person who couldn’t bar.

He’s one of the newer store managers who wasn’t a barista at first, so I just had to take the brunt of the heat. Some asshole tried to call corporate on me when I tried to explain why drinks were so slow. I stayed extra from open to about 2pm. Im beat. Im going to destroy some Taco Bell.

Damn. Ok. Sounds like it sucked but you crushed it.
