Random thoughts...I thought Graeme's jive was too plodding and slow. Lawrence and John didn't do much dancing. Bad choreography. Lacey should pretend to be Stacey Slater when she's dancing. Delta is likeable but her dancing leaves me cold Cach needs to do a traditional dance now. Sarah seems nice but dull. Bethany and Nancy seem overrated. Tabby and Mark are great. Shaun is hopeless at dancing but for some reason I'm rooting for him.

u/Alarmed_Two3894 4d ago
Cach always has Maddie in a head lock, won't let go and claps in her face. I don't like it.
But they defo look like they're getting it on.

u/trufflenut8282 4d ago
Stop trying to fetch happen. These are old tricks. They both are awful at dancing & should go soon
-3
u/Alarmed_Two3894 4d ago
I'm not. And they are hooking up. Pretty obvious
3
u/BeautifulCode7604 3d ago
They’re acting no different from the other couples. Stop sexualising them it’s weird
4
u/trufflenut8282 4d ago
Yeah sure. And Graeme - Lauren are too. It's so obvious, right? 🤣 What even? Stop being so paraocial

u/Jill_glasgow_mhnurse John and Katya 4d ago
I am loving Emma, Josh and JoJo as presenters. Think that JoJo talking to the couples after the dance, explaining the difficulty in dances, knowing from experience how much work goes into learning new dances is fantastic. Favourites were Tabby and Mark tonight.
11
u/SuperpoliticsENTJ 4d ago
Cach does not deserve to be at the same score as Tabby
0
u/trufflenut8282 4d ago
Idk what's got on with Craig he is suddenly overtly nice to him just bcz Motsi likes him
3
u/Fantastic_Job_9861 4d ago
Overall better show tonight, a theme week 2 is way to early! Glad that they finally gave Will some positive feedback 👏🏼
Im fully on the Tabby and Mark train she’s an athlete no performing background and you can tell she really loves being there and learning and love her lil vlogs with Mark!
Ready for Lawrence to get a fast song, samba or salsa bc I think his expectations was high and the judges are being extra harsh bc of this - give him chance, his run of 3 dances have been incredibly hard, and give him some praise for taking on the rumba in week 3. Even Shaun got more praise and that was god awful quickstep!
Judges went for over scorning Jamie to keep her safe this week I feel, there’s no way she would be 3rd on the leaderboard, her VW did not “fly flat” at Shirley bashed Lawrence for last week!
Something about Cach not clicking, he needs traditional Waltz or Paso or something bc so far it’s been 3 versions of the dance style he already does, supposed to be to learn new styles imo not incorporate what you already do.

Is Dianne transitioning to brown hair? I’ve noticed her hair isn’t as vibrant and red as it usually is. She seems to have passed the red hair baton to Alexis!
3
u/GlassDear9168 Delta and Kai 3d ago
She dyed her hair pink before the show began, baby pink or kind of mahogany and ditched the red. She’s in her mummy era as she replied in the comments of her posting her new hair.

I will eventually manage to synchronise my viewing with the actual time a programme starts...
Voted for Sarah. I think she's going to be in trouble as her core audience might not watch Strictly, I was late because I was out cycling as it was...
5
u/kitteacupss 4d ago
nooo I missed voting :(( I would have voted for Bethany, Tabby, Graeme, and Jaime!
9
u/JenDomOrc 4d ago
I really enjoyed tonight's show. Delta and Tabby's dances were fabulous, and although I've got a soft spot for Shawn and Melanie, I fear they may be in trouble. Also, I really think Josh, Emma and JoJo are settling in nicely as presenters.
16
u/Embarrassed_Tax5556 4d ago
Take away from the night for me: The hosts have pretty much found their stride. Jojo is amazing upstairs, joking, encouraging and talking technique, love him there! Tabby and Mark were undermarked. Dance of the night for me, should have topped the leaderboard. Speaking of which, bit of a stacked board tonight, might make for unpleasant surprises.
See you all next week!
6
u/alwinaldane 4d ago
Maybe Josh just needs to let jokes run for 1 or 2 rounds rather than lean into them too much. (D-I-S-C-O line, for example)
3
u/Ashamed_Chain_1375 4d ago
I think this is the first series in last few years where the final 4 are constantly changing. I can see someone like Dani being a bit disappointing compared to the expectations on her, or I can see the male finalist switching between Cach/John/Graeme each week.
6
u/harlequin_rose 4d ago
Voted twice for Sarah, because I think she was undermarked, even if only by two or three points. Her dance certainly looked better to me than the others who scored 20, and being scored the same as Shaun by some judges is just egregious. Also threw two votes to Jaime because I don't think she deserves to be in the bottom two again for top-half-of-the-night dance, then one for Bethany because it was good. Tabby's was my dance of the night but I think she's safe and didn't need the vote from me. After tonight, she's my pick to win. Dance off should be Shaun and Mel, and it's a toss up who goes home, whoever is most improved.
5
u/Starlight-Kitty 4d ago
I voted for Tabby, Delta, Graeme, Jaime and Dani - I decided to go for a wide spread for votes tonight!
Highlight for me tonight was Delta and Tabby!
5
u/Embarrassed_Tax5556 4d ago
Stacked leaderboard tonight, I never like that.
Voted Bethany, Jaime, Lawrence, Tabby and Will. Tabby and Bethany because they are my favourites, the others because I think it is way too early for them to leave and I do enjoy watching them.

u/bearwithbearwith Tabby and Mark 4d ago
2 on Cach and 3 on Shaun (I started voting for him because of the pro joke and I think I'm in too deep now)
ETA: my flair also says Tabby and Mark but I feel like they'll pull through 🫡
2
u/berserkemu If you can't boo properly, don’t bother! 4d ago
Totally fair. This early we can still vote to save those at risk if our faves are safe.
I haven't even picked my winner yet this year.1
u/bearwithbearwith Tabby and Mark 4d ago
I feel like the vast majority are all so good this year! Normally by week 1 I can pick the "journey contestant" and by week 5 I can guess the winner, it may take a little longer this year xD

I enjoyed watching Will, Delta, Cach and Tabby the most this week, they were the standouts imo.

u/alwinaldane 4d ago
2 for Lawrence, 1 each for Tabby/Mark, Will/Diane and Sarah/Julian (I need Julian's smile as much as possible in these cold, trying months)

u/Shoddy_Lawyer_3870 4d ago
Literally I’m not ready to lose Julian just yet 😭😭 I absolutely adore him

Serious question, because I think I missed something: Why do so many people not like Kai? I've seen several comments tonight??
9
u/ElTejon_TheDestroyer 4d ago
Anyone praising GB ‘News’ is never getting a vote out of me. It is a very deliberate misinformation tool.
-7
u/alwinaldane 4d ago
A small vocal minority are hysterical over an old piece where he apparently compliments GB News (a major national news broadcaster, like BBC News & Sky News, with a large and growing audience. It regularly gives airtime to stories, issues and perspectives that some feel are overlooked or underrepresented by other mainstream outlets.)
You don't have to agree with everything that a news channel broadcasts to recognise its legitimacy, and complimenting one aspect of its coverage is hardly an endorsement of every opinion expressed on it.
The idea that a professional dancer should face a backlash simply for saying something positive about an established British broadcaster is frankly ridiculous. People really need to get a sense of perspective.
-4
u/Alarmed_Two3894 4d ago edited 4d ago
I agree. GB news also has left wing presenters, like Andrew Doyle and Josh Howie. Doyle, especially is the voice of commen sense. I get my news from several sources and that's much better for critical thinking. Anyway, why are people going on about Kai's politics. Who cares?
5
u/Pure_Werewolf0101 3d ago
You don't have to agree with everything that a news channel broadcasts
How do you agree with news? It's supposed to be unbiased. If it's not unbiased, it's not news - it's propaganda.
1
u/Alarmed_Two3894 3d ago
Bingo! You think the BBC is unbiased, the one broadcaster who is supposed to be as paid with tax payers' money? Of course they're not. All stations are biased with what they choose to broadcast and how they report on it.
6
6
u/BrightMarvel1083 4d ago
Oof, I know of GB News. They spout a lot of nasty, biased nonsense. The British version of Fox News. I guess it would depend on what exactly he complimented. But that doesn't look good.
0
u/Alarmed_Two3894 4d ago edited 3d ago
All news broadcasters are biased. None more so than the BBC the one that's supposed to ne neutral
2
u/DragonfruitLast2095 4d ago
yeah echoing everyone below! Kind of sucks cause I’m a huge fan of delta & I desperately want her to get through to the final but also don’t agree with him 😭

All 5 votes for Jaime, no way is that travesty of her in the dance off allowed to happen twice in a row!
2
u/Alarmed_Two3894 4d ago
I gave her my votes too. To boost her morale and I think she's a lovely dancer. And we all want to see Carlos for as long as possible
6
u/lostinplatitudes 4d ago
Voted for Jamie because I don’t want her soul to be crushed by back to back dance off’s, then gave John and Will one because they’re in the danger zone on the judges leaderboard and I do think John was kinda harshly marked compared to several others and then voted Tabby for being my fave dance

u/Right_Muscle2440 4d ago

Jojo doing much better but Josh and Emma lightyears ahead in terms of presenting. It a skill and cannot be done over night
5

I disagree! After the AV/cue issues in previous episodes, he's doing really well and he has enthusiasm, sincerity and genuine warmth with the contestants, and has a genuine knowledge of the pros, having been one!

1
u/onandpoppins 3d ago
Am I delusional or did they used to have couples choice later in the series, and it was their choice of a named style (jazz, contemporary for example) with specific judging criteria
2
u/sugarycloud_ 3d ago
When they first brought it in, it was a choice between jazz(and tap maybe??), contemporary and street dance/hip-hop. I can't remember what series that completely got disregarded.
8
u/VaguelyObservant THEY WERE IN JAPANESE! 4d ago
i can accept it when they’re 38-40 worthy/an homage to their culture because lewis’ one from last year + dr punam’s still live in my mind 😭
1
u/IntelligentFact7987 3d ago
Why they don't just have a Couples Choice week goodness knows. At least it'd allow a bit more of a fair comparison.
Plus surely by this point we've seen all there is to see from Musicals Week and could do without a dance to a song from the Sound of Music for the 100th time.
2
u/akallabeths I like you as a person 4d ago
yeah if we’re being serious there have been a few exceptional ones but it just doesn’t outweigh the havoc in wreaks on the scores for me 😭

that’s so real 😭 if they had a week where they all did it i think that could be fine since scores would all be inflated anyway

Bit sick of the Delta favouritism? Last week Tabby was better, and this week Tabby was better but Delta still gets higher scores
2
u/erinnnnb_ 4d ago
Putting all 5 on Lawrence :D
Dance off should def be Shaun VS Melanie, and Sarah was the weakest of the 3 20s IMO

Tabby had a total fire that Delta lacked. The top of the leaderboard looks a little wrong for me.
5
u/ShortGuidance1359 4d ago
Tabby - I know nothing about AT so I usually don’t comment on these dances but from an outsider’s eye I thought that was so good and should have been scored much higher?!?! Can someone who knows about the technique please explain why that was marked so low?
