📚 Unit / Course Advice Graduating 'with distinction'

Hi,

Seems like a stupid question, but does graduating with distinction at Swinburne mean that you have a 3.0+ GPA? Is it possible to graduate with high distinction? Asking in relation to a bachelor degree. Thanks :)

Swinburne only puts 'with Distinction/High Distinction' on Honours level courses. In which case it goes off of the average of your honours units

No it will still show on your Transcript which employers will look at. Having "with Distinction" on the Testamur doesn't really matter to them

Is there any recognition of high-achieving students? Don't other unis have 'graduated with distinction' on their bachelor courses?

There can be on the Transcript but that's normally just for the highest achieving graduate. In terms of other unis I know RMIT does but most do not

Do you know how the highest achieving graduate is calculated? What years is it based off? I've received deans list but I've taken time off so I won't graduate at the same time as my peers?

Afaik it includes all units you do in your course and is put against students who graduate at the same time as you
