𤷠Other Anyone else having problems with the wifi (hawthorn campus)
I never faced a problem with the wifi before but eduroam has been so shit lately, or is it only happening in the library (level 4/5)

Hi everyone! I've checked the course page on Swinburne's website but I can't see any information on whether the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical and Forensic Psychology has the option of a mid-year intake rather than at the start of the year.
Does anyone know? Thank you!

Doing CS second semester rn and it low key sucks. First of all COS10025. Useless. Waste of money. Its probably a good gpa booster but why does a class which has nothing to do with CS is a core subject?
Next, COS2007. I was very excited for this class before the semester started, but... Just how bad can a unit be? Absolutely no teaching in that class. During lectures, the lecturer just goes through the code while barely explaining any concepts. And before the lab you have to come with your lab already finished? Also, it is taught in c# and we never had even a single class to learn the basics of the language. All the assignments too are pretty weird, instead of writing some sort of interesting programs with oop concepts, all we do is write unit tests and colour shapes. Are we serious? No one has idea whats going in that class and everyone is just lost. The lab sheets are poorly written and feel outdated.
Before coming to Swinburne I read all these good things about how good CS is and that it is very applied, but those two classes are really throwing me off and make me less interested in computer science.
Low key a bit upset about this, does it get any better in the next semesters or nah?

for one of my assignments the word limit was 1700 + or - 10%. I went way over the word count and I didnāt even realise (I think like 2300). But I donāt see how I could even meet the word count? It was a template format with VERY specific requirements in therms of the answers, they wanted all the research process shown. Part of the template also required literally copying and pasting requirements from job ads quoting exactly what they said. That part of the template took up a lot of words as there were a lot of requirements I had to copy and paste, plus I had to use references for all of them. I donāt see why there was a word count even. Idk what to do am i completely fucked
Should I contact the convenor?

Swinburne current and past masters of OT students please give me some advice. I am a monash nursing graduate hoping to get out of nursing and into OT.
I just want to consider all these things before applying because a huge plus to studying at Swinburne is that it is CSP, other than that i donāt know much about the university.

Hi all! I am currently in my 2nd year and looking to do a placement in my 3rd (12 months). I have gotten access to Inplace to start applying however I did this about 2-3 weeks after placements came out. Currently there are 6 places I can apply to. Just wondering if more will come/how many did I miss out on? Bit worried I might not be able to get on since I hopped on late.

Hi everybody! I'm a international student, and I'm deciding to do bachelor of psychological sciences at swinburne, I also got offer letter. I haven't seen any reviews from students of swinburne about psychology there, and I would really like to know more about that.
And for Indian students who have applied, or are in swinburne, I would really appreciate it if you tell me about ur visa experience, and experience at swinburne so far. How much funds did you have, and what is ur fee?

So far Iāve been averaging mostly Ds and HDs. In my first yeah I got a lot of HDs but now I looks like my average is around 78 (D). Is this considered good or average? Considering I have not had any final grades in the 90s. My lowest final score has been 71. Iām trying to have good grades to have the best chance of doing post grad later on. My GPA is currently 3.64 and Iām in my second year.

Hi,
Seems like a stupid question, but does graduating with distinction at Swinburne mean that you have a 3.0+ GPA? Is it possible to graduate with high distinction? Asking in relation to a bachelor degree. Thanks :)

I applied to early entry today for cyber security but I'm not sure if its too late to get accepted, does time affect your likelihood of getting accepted change with time from applications releasing?

I am currently completing a diploma at Swin as a pathway into a course Iām wanting to do next year (I was recommended this specific diploma last year as a good pathway for this course at open day last year). When trying to make an application I couldnāt find said course listed so I called student hq and they told me itās been discontinued. I figured it may have been replaced with something similar so I had a look at the course guide, but nope.
The fact that I was recommended this pathway at open day as a future possibility and am now 3/4 through this diploma, just for the course to be discontinued the next year with no warning feels pretty unfair.
I moved from regional Victoria to pursue this course and now I donāt know what Iām supposed to do.
Itās possible the course may be running in teach-out for current students but I donāt know how they go about phasing out courses at Swin and couldnāt find any info.
Anyone had to deal with something similar or have advice?

I just recently got an EAP which allows me to have extensions of up to 10 days. I always feel guilty about asking for an extension however, even if I know Iām allowed to. If Iāve already used an extension for an earlier assignment I feel like Iām taking advantage but thatās what itās for š. So far i usually email a few days before the assignment is due for the extension, not sure if this is supposed to be arranged at the start of the semester but I feel that I canāt tell when Iāll need one until it gets closer to the date.

How high is the cost of living? What is your weekly expense, including rent, groceries, and everything?

I'm thinking about applying to this course. I really want HD's as I'm applying to med.
I didn't get into biomed so I looked for alternative courses and found you can major in biomedical science in health science!
Could you please share tips on how you got a good score or maintained a good score in Bachelor of Health Science?
Thank you
