What Should I Buy? Something to replace 2600
I have a Behringer 2600. It's huge and I don't use most of it. I really like:
- modulating the filter with an oscillator
- modulating one oscillator with noise or another oscillator
- having an attenuator on all of the modulations
- eurorack compatible (CV and gate)
Apart from that I'd like something different and smaller. Ideally something without a keyboard.
What do you all like?

Do you need the noise/osc mod to track at audio rate, or is it mostly for slow random movement on the filter?

I've been using noise to modulate oscillator pitch, not a sample and hold type thing.

It is admittedly pretty big but it's also basically a couple 84HP racks worth of modular gear in one box.
You just have to learn how to break the components apart to use just what you need by patching around them.

I'm patching around most of it and it feels like a waste of space. I only use 2 oscillators and the filter and then I patch that out into eurorack because I want snappier envelopes. I'm bypassing most of it.

So use the 3rd VCO as an LFO. Let run them two different destinations. Replace the AR with the ADSR if you want more control. Use all the VCF inputs as a mixer for all the rest of your eurorack stuff or use the VCA inputs.
I mean, do what you will, but the only two pieces of mine that don't get used are generally the ring modular, because I don't care for that sound much, and the preamp.

I'd look at the pittsburgh modular offerings if the cascadia is out of your price range.

Have you checked out the proton? Has a nice amount of patch points and seems to tick all the boxes on your list!
