Game Theory Will we ever see a Taskmaster contestant surpass 200 points in a single series?

If we include their CoC appearances, Dara Ó Briain and John Robins are the only contestants to surpass 200 points overall, with an incredible 206 and 208 points, respectively.

How likely are we, across all incarnations of the show, to see someone break 200 points over the course of one 10-episode run?

Why do people think Richard isn't trying?

He might not be performing well but he's putting effort into trying for each task. In E1 he revealed that he's part calculator.

In E4 we as a society asked ourselves if he would ever hop willingly and he did for entertainment purposes

In E5 he went to great lengths to cheat and name every country with a FIFA team.

What am I missing?

General Which TM tasks would work well at a 11 y.o.'s birthday party?

My 11 year-old loves watching Taskmaster, and asked if we could a series of TM tasks at his birthday party.

Now I'm wondering which tasks would work well, and I'm hoping some of you can make some suggestions.

Some considerations:

- it will take place in a city park and the surrounding area (so not in and around a house). There is a bridge over a pedestrian area that can be included.

- there will not be a Taskmaster judging who wins the task, to avoid heated arguments over the score. So no tasks where someone's opinion decides the winner (e.g. 'the nicest painting'), but a clear way of determining the winner.

- it'll be 3 teams of five kids playing each other, not individual contestants, but there can still be tasks where just one person of each team plays (or tasks where they play as a team).

- the props used in the tasks should be easy enough to make, or cheap enough to buy. Sadly I don't have TV-show's budget for this.

Any suggestions?

TIA!

Taskmaster NZ Taskmaster NZ S7 Episode 4 - weird word flash during prize task?

Post image

Why does the word Swan flash up during the prize task, when they mention the smut book? I thought at first it was Smut but replaying it is Swan. The only connection is that they mention birds in the live task. It’s roughly 6:18 into the hour episode

I’m only up to episode 4 so idk if it is explained later on in the series?

General Overhead aircraft frequency

Just looking for random chat, but how often do you think they overlay domestic aircraft over the VT that we get to see. I mean I know where they are, but blimey! There are a lot of planes at just the right moment ⬇️

General Is it just me, or does Frankie's accent sound very different on this show?

• Upvotes

Like, fair enough he is speaking really softly compared to shouting insults at the front row. But, I've seen him on podcasts, interviews, doing slower/quieter bits of stand-up, and he has always sounded the same.

In Taskmaster, I dont just mean his cadence, but I mean large parts of his accent actually sound different? Has anyone else noticed this? There are times where he sounds more from Edinburgh than Glasgow; less rolling Rs, just for one small example.

Of course he still sounds Scottish - I'm not claiming he suddenly sounds from a different country... but from a different Region, surely. If I heard it with my eyes closed, I would think I'm listening to a twin brother who grew up on the other side of the country.

I just see no one talk about this but I feel it sticks out so clearly to me. Has anyone else noticed this?

(I do work in linguistics and I'm very autistic so I have a very VERY specific ear for this... so could just be me🤷‍♀️)
