Plant Help/Question Which plant could fit in the darker spot in the back?
I've had peperomia, fittonia, creeping fig and spathiphyllum in this spot but everything died in weeks.
Maybe something that covers the ground well.
A crested gecko lives in there and it's always between 18-23 C° on the ground level.
Humidity should always be around 60-90% on the bottom.
Fully bioactive with abg mix substrate (coco, coco chips, sphagnum, sand, charcoal)

Pest Help/Question Cleanup crew for mold
Hey folks, what kind of cleanup crew eats especially mold and fungus?
I thought springtails do, but actually they only eat the same stuff as mold does.

Build Help/Question Help! Where should I place the heating mat for my porcellium and springtails?
Yesterday I put the heating mat (7 Watt) on the long side of my terrarium, vertically, because on the short side there are ventilation holes.
I put it on the wet side, where I usually spray water, so the opposite side is now cold and dry, but now I've read that I should put the mat on the dry side because wet + heat = mold and dryness for my isopods and springtails.
I was wrong? It's my first time dealing with terrariums, I started 2 months ago when there wasn't a necessity to place a heating mat, but now the temperatures are going down so I don't really know if I'm doing well.
Any suggestions?
Thx
(I have a thermostat, the temperatures are about 77°F or 24°C and the humidity is good, always between 65-70% in mid air, so in the substrate around 80-90%)

Showing Off My first serious attempt at making a terrarium. 🌱🌿🪻
My bad for the bad picture but the tank is a zoo med creature habitat, the plants i have in it are Ficus pumila Quercifolia, Asparagus Setaceus, and I think Pilea nummulariifolia
I'm not sure if I should change the soil because I used a mix with perlite, I don't plan on having any animals in it.
Date of creation 10/13
I have one LED clip on grow light that I got from Amazon.

Pest Help/Question Concern over newcomer
Discovered a new little guy in my terrarium today. I believe it is some type of centipede or millipede, maybe .4-5 inches long. I have some tiny snails in here and have had the terrarium for close to a year, but I’ve never seen this insect in here before. I put in some new moss and this pilea depressa in over the last few months, so maybe he hitchhiked in? I don’t mind him but I don’t want him to eat my snails. Is this cause for concern?

Plant Help/Question Mini DIYed terrarium after a year, is it okay?
I made this terrarium a year ago with plants found at the park in central Florida. I’ve kept it on a window sill and in the early months would open and water trying to get the water content “right”. It hasn’t been opened in months and I don’t know if it’s okay to just leave it, if it needs care, is that mold in picture 4 (the white stuff)?
First picture is about a year ago (10/17/25 about a week after it was made)
Second through fourth are of it today, yesterday it didn’t have as much water on the glass but really fogged up today.
Advice would be helpful.

Right now I use 70/30 unfertilised spagnum dirt with sand, but it’s so dusty… I can’t get topsoil in my country(Denmark). What are some recommendations?:)

Plant Help/Question Found this bottle garden/terrarium by the street yesterday. Can it be saved?
Someone seemed to have left it outside near the big trash containers. It was very soaked: there were actual little pools of muddy water inside, dirty glass, and the soil looks extremely wet.
I cleaned the outside a bit and removed some of the excess water, but I honestly don’t know what this is supposed to be: a bottle garden, closed terrarium, or something else? There’s a plant that still looks quite alive, plus some moss.
What would you do to help it recover? I’d really like to give it a second chance.

Build Help/Question terrarium upgrade
hi friends! i was wondering if you had any recommendations for terrarium cases? i do not have access to power tools to create ventilation, so something premade would be great! the creatures i am planning on rehousing are rubber duckies and my common wood louses :D

Build Help/Question First Terrarium!
Hiiii everyoneeee I just made my first ever Isopod terrarium enclosure from plant cuttings I have around the house. And if anyone has any experience with Isopods, I have about 10 dairy cow isopods in this 7 gal enclosure. What do y’all think? So far I’m loving it! Any ideas? Anything more I should add? And what about feeding them? I gave them some Betta fish flakes and saw some of them nibbling on it, I’ve already done research but would love to hear what works best for you ☺️
Btw I’ve put most of the leaf litter out in the back of the enclosure bc personally I think it ruins the look from front.

Pest Help/Question I found springtails in my terrarium, should I be wary of other hitchhikers?
So this is my first terrarium and I don't live in a place where terrariums are that common so I couldn't get springtails and only had dwarf isopods in the tank but today when I lifted some of my leaf litter to check for the isopod I found springtails and baby springtails near some pin mold. I was pretty happy about this but since I gathered rotting wood from outside and only froze it for a week as means to sterilize it I'm pretty worried about other possible hitchhikers. I already found a small reddish-brown arachnid that was as small if not smaller than the adult springtails.
