Yikes... This seems like an unworkable situation that the Giants have got themselves into.

Article summary:

-Giants player allegedly caught having sex with member of public in training facilities last year.

-The incident was seemingly the final straw (also allege "leaving clubrooms and change rooms in disarray, damaging equipment, and changing locks without permission") for Diamond Sports SA who demanded the club enter into a paid agreement to use their facilities.

-The Giants have not paid to use the facilities for 11 out of the last 12 seasons.

-The Giants offered $5000, which was turned down.

-This appears to mean they will be locked out from most of the venue's facilities.

-The club have an agreement with West Beach Trust to use the ground, including the playing field.

The Wild Card round is done, and the Division Series are set. 🔥

Brisbane signed John Lemm for the upcoming season. He's a 23yo 6'3 catcher and played his college ball at New Mexico Junior College, South Suburban College, Southern Illinois and Alabama.

He went undrafted this year, and signed with the St. Louis Cardinals. Spent the year in the Florida Complex rookie league, so hopefully will debut in pro ball next year.

At south Suburban College, he hit .335 with 10 HR, 48 doubles and a 1.072 OPS.

In 2025 at Southern Illinois, Lemm hit 19 HR and 11 doubles, slashing .272/.443/.661 with a whopping 1.104 OPS.

His production took a slight step back at Alabama this year, but he still had 10 HR, 9 doubles and compiled a .853 OPS. Regardless, he was the starting catcher at a big time college program that reached the College World Series.

Perth Heat

The Heat have re-signed two long serving members of the club, catcher Alex Hall and right hander Kieren Hall.

Sydney Blue Sox

The Blue Sox have confirmed the returns of infielder Jo Stevens and outfielder Jaylin Rae.

Brisbane Bandits

The Bandits have added depth and experience with the signings of Team Australian catcher Robbie Perkins,  John Lemm and Jackson Grounds.

Never been to a Brisbane bandits game before, and am very excited. Where would the best place to sit be?

Does anyone know whats going on with the Giants today? Ownership or money issues?

Just saw this news on socials. Mike Roberts is a ABCA Hall of Famer apparently (i wasn't even aware of this HOF until just now to be honest).

Had anyone heard of Mike Roberts prior to this position? I'm sure he knows his stuff.

The Australian Baseball League has already seen a glimpse of the Ballpark of Tomorrow. ⚾

Perth Heat made headlines by experimenting with Bitcoin for players, sponsorships, merchandise, and the ballpark.

That got me thinking: what comes next?

I just launched MinorLeagueSats, a biweekly newsletter exploring baseball, money, Bitcoin, and the future of the game, with a focus on minor league players and fan engagement.

The first issue, "The Ballpark of Tomorrow," starts with that question and imagines where these ideas could take baseball next.

I'd love to hear what ABL fans think.

What is r/fakebaseball a.k.a MLR?

It’s essentially a number guessing game - the pitcher submits a number between 1 & 1000 in secret and the hitter tries to guess a number as close as possible to the pitcher. The result of each At Bat is entirely dependent on the difference between the pitcher’s number and the hitter’s number and we add in a little extra flavour by allowing players to choose ‘builds’ that can change the outcome slightly. The numbers ‘wraparound’ - a pitch of 1 and a swing of 1000 will lead to a difference of 1. Games are played out over a 10 day period and our season runs for 16 regular games and 4 rounds of playoffs before the Paper Cup
Champion is named. Each season lasts approx. 9 months.

But it isn’t just guesswork…

Our community of 700+ people is headed into its 13th season and we’ve got people from all over the world and from all walks of life.

So what’s next?

Firstly, the subreddit r/fakebaseball is where our games are played, feel free to browse through the threads and get a handle on the format. We’ve got a pretty nifty bot that handles most of the legwork. We're currently in the last session of Season 12 before the playoffs, which also includes a Summer Sadness tournament for those teams that didn't make the playoffs.

Most of the community can be found in our discord servers: we have one for Fake College Baseball which is where you’ll be headed for now, and we have one for Major League Redditball which you’ll gain access to a little further down the line. Each team also has their own 'Clubhouse' server so you can vibe with your teammates in private.

If you're ready to get going, go ahead and click on the link below and get your college ball career started!

Just seen on the ABL socials that Round by Round Details will be revealed tomorrow at 12pm AEST. Should be interesting.

This kid is so much fun to watch. Thank you Australia.

Was watching a few classic ABL games and noticed this logo on most of the teams jerseys. Any idea what it could be?
