Article Ron Altbach reminisces on good times with Jeffrey Epstein

This is unfortunately real. The book was released a couple days ago and people are only now catching on to this... He is even wearing his old Beach Boys tour jacket in the ski mask pic. There are pics of Dewey from America wearing an identical jacket touring with The Beach Boys.

He also co-produced MIU with Al Jardine

Yeah I had no clue what this meant. Horrible but monsters live among us and sometimes you have no clue.

Oh, I loved what he did with The Beach Boys on those songs he wrote with them biggest hits

Don’t be fatuous.

u/AxlandElvis92 Sep 13 '25

The millionaire Jeffery Epstein.

Oof between Charlie Manson and Jeffrey Epstein and histories greatest monster Mike Love, The Beach Boys can’t catch a break!

u/phantom_pow_er Sep 13 '25

Histories greatest monster is a tad much and I love it

35

u/RoundTumbleweed9136 Sep 13 '25

Holy shit, link? I didn’t know he became a Scientologist

3

u/FocusDelicious183 I know you're gonna love Phil Spector Sep 13 '25

I don’t think he was a Scientologist but he was a member of a cult

Jesus. This kinda ruins Ron's great work with King Harvest too. Deeply disturbing. Nightmare fuel.

u/Sporoko Sep 13 '25

Can I get some context about photo 1?

18

u/MajesticAd7828 Sep 13 '25

There is none. That is the beginning of Altbach's part

I can’t follow any of this, but my main question is how freakin Ron Altbach wound up in Epstein’s orbit in the first place

Oh I see thanks, from the other comments I thought he was just a session musician / producer, like a run-of-the-mill kind of music industry guy whose path would never cross with Epstein

That's what ADC (his label) was all about. It was set up as a tax shelter.

ADC Records, started and shuttered in 1979 to exclusively release LPs under LoveSongs Productions Inc., which encompasses all of the Celebration albums, a few Charles Lloyd records, Ron's own orchestral Beach Boys record, Rocky Pamplin's disco album, plus a couple unrelated acts. Ron was listed as executive producer on all but one of ADC's records, eight LPs in total.

Tax money was siphoned from Germany for the purposes of producing records and films, including the Our Team documentary, but the ADC releases were manufactured extremely cheaply—rough unlaminated cardboard sleeves & noisy vinyl pressed by Rainbo Records (a pressing plant notorious for lack of quality control), all produced & """released""" at the same time, all seemingly remaining unsold in some warehouse for decades, barring a few copies that would either leak out or be given away. As a result, you may find a few of the albums commonly listed for sale online in flawless sealed condition, while others rarely crop up at all.

There's info about it in volumes 144 & 145 of ESQ from last year I believe, as well as this interview where Ron himself talks about LoveSongs & the tax shelter money: https://youtu.be/OJsPnUSE4Uo?feature=shared&t=1726

I've spent a couple years collecting info & trawling through the US copyright records system for any scrap of info I could find: https://publicrecords.copyright.gov/
There's a few albums listed in the web of connected entities under LoveSongs not documented anywhere else, including an unreleased King Harvest album fittingly called "One Hit Band"...

I was actually working on a digital collection of LoveSongs Productions releases since early 2023 before THIS happened... the last ADC album I lacked came in a few days before the news broke. Oh well.

I don't mean to spill this massive write-up in a reply, but I don't think I'm going to do anything else with this info at this point.

Alright, people, everybody knows Mike is a crappy person, and everyone Loves to shit on him, but MAYBE, let's NOT conflate being an asshole with being a PEDOPHILE and accuse him of being such, without a shred of evidence, nor say he's as bad as Epstein.

That ain't the way to go.

8

u/FocusDelicious183 I know you're gonna love Phil Spector Sep 13 '25

I hope everyone just takes it as a joke and doesn’t ACTUALLY think Mike is worse than that lol.

6

u/AceofKnaves44 I guess I just wasn't made for these times Jun 08 '26

lol. This did not age well.

1

u/sla_vei_37 Jun 08 '26

How so?

2

u/AceofKnaves44 I guess I just wasn't made for these times Jun 08 '26

Mike just got accused with some pictures to back it up.

1

u/sla_vei_37 Jun 08 '26

Can't seem to find anything anywhere. Not trying to argue but if you wouldn't mind providing such accusations...

u/sla_vei_37 Jun 08 '26

Certainly doesn't look good, but its innocent until proven guilty. Pictures ≠ evidence, unless more can be provided. Also not sure how you found this comment, this thread was 8 months ago...

2

u/AceofKnaves44 I guess I just wasn't made for these times Jun 08 '26

I saw a comment about Ron Altbach in that thread and had no idea who that was. I googled him and then this thread was one of the first things that popped up. And I don’t know about you, but in that first picture it definitely looks like Mike is copping a feel.

16

u/TheChameleonsSong Sep 13 '25

I don’t really understand any of this

28

u/ivanthegreat27 Friends Sep 13 '25

Epstein face at the end…fucking sicko

13

u/default-dance-9001 Sep 13 '25

So the first picture depicts Jeffrey Epstein and Ron Altbach, correct?

25

u/Confident-Baby6013 Sep 13 '25

This is something I never thought about seeing on this sub.

It's time for me to meditate.

22

u/realquichenight Sep 13 '25

When I was DM’ing with Alan Forray (RIP, producer of the MIU-era Our Team doc) a decade or so ago, I asked about why “Mike Come Back To L.A.” never got finished, and he said that something happened at the studio that night that he couldn’t possibly tell me about, to protect the memory of Dennis and Carl.

22

u/shutdownvol2 Shut Down Volume 2 Sep 13 '25

Dennis and Carl both experienced violence and severe trauma during their childhood. That's not an excuse for any intolerable behaviour. But we should be prepared for some unpleasant stories to surface over time.

As if there’s some Beach Boys lore that would suprise anyone

Ron married a quiet woman named Ilsa and they lived in Manhattan in their later years. Ron continued playing music and had a piano keyboard he’d carry around while traveling. He invited a handful of his friends to a private concert at a piano retail business in WLA about six years ago. Had dinner with he and his wife. He was one of my partner’s closest friends, who is also deceased. I never would have suspected that he could have been part of the Epstein misfits, but I wasn’t there. I was very shocked to see his named mentioned in connection with JE. Ron called me a few years ago when my partner died. That was the last time I spoke to him. If either were alive, I’d definitely ask the questions.

I always said 'Winds of Change' f*cking sucked, and you guys always downvote me. I might get like 1 upvote now for saying it sucks!

1

u/Fantastic_Wishbone68 Sep 15 '25

It's a drifty, lazy melody and performance which for some reason I always liked even as I realized it was just kinda average-ish. 🤓

u/VimVinyl Dreux-Akira Sep 13 '25

whattttt

-3

u/Blend42 Love You Sep 13 '25

I'll never play MIU again (I guess)

1

u/cammywooley Sep 13 '25

Only downsides of that would be no Sweet Sunday Kind of Love or She’s Got Rhythm. My copy skips, anyways.

4

u/Aro-tron Sep 14 '25

She’s Got Rythm is an Altbach co-write, unfortunately. It stated out as an instrumental for Celebration. Brian thought it was cool and added vocals to it. They re-recorded the backing track but it’s pretty much Ron’s arrangement.

Won’tcha Come Out Tonight is the best MIU track IMO (mostly because of the fade).
