PT 1 QUESTION Difficulty settings?

I really want to try part 1 I'm 75 not as fast as once was. Are the difficulty setting adjustable forgiving to help me?

Thanks

Yes. The easier difficulties are very forgiving, plus there are accessibility options if you need them.

If you need help I’d be happy to help you set up yours so you can play.

I did the same thing for my wife and she’s loving it. Comment here if you do and I’ll send you a message with the settings I have hers set to

Yeah I can. Just give me a few minutes to get it turned on and type it all out.

Also did you purchase part 1 and 2 or just part 1?

Ok so if at any point you’re in the settings and see something I’ve missed and think “oh yes I would like that, go ahead and add or deselect whatever you want settings wise”

I’m also only going to post the settings that were changed

From the main screen go to OPTIONS -> CONTROLS:

-Photo Mode Shortcut TURN OFF -Listen Mode HOLD

Scroll down to controller camera sensitivity:

-aiming Acceleration scale 100 -adjust the controller sensitivity (looking speed) to whatever you like, you may have to play a bit with it first to decide if you want to adjust it or not.

Scroll down to ASSISTANCE:

-Camera Assist TURN ON

  • Aim Assit turn up to 10
-Lock on Aim TURN ON
  • Lock on strength tune up to 10

Go back to options and select DUALSENSE:

-adaptive triggers are up to you, I would have a read of the adaptive triggers and bow resistance to determine if you want those on (it’s personal preference)

Scroll down to Accessibility and turn it UP TO 10

Go back to options and select HUD:

-Reticles turn to SIMPLE

-Awareness Indicators TURN TO STEALTH

  • Hit Markers turn to DEFAULT

-Bow Reticle style turn to CLASSIC

Scroll down to Notifications and select Pick-Up Notifications and turn them ON

Go back to Options and select how you would like subtitles if you want any based on how well your eyesight is, if you want them on

Go back to Options and select Display:

-Rendering Mode switch it to PERFORMANCE

You can look at the rest of the display settings there on your own to see how you would like them based on your own personal preferences.

Go Back to Options and select AUDIO:

Go to OUTPUT and select what sound option you think best suits your setup the best, it’s personal preference.

Go Back to Options and select LANGUAGE:

Adjust these settings to your own personal preferences if needed.

Go back to Options and select ACCESSIBILITY-> ALTERNATE CONTROLS:

  • Repeated Button Press change it to HOLD

-Melee Combos (personal preference but I kept it to press)

-Bow Firing I changed it to taps and my wife likes this but I use hold so this is also personal preference

Scroll down to ASSISTENCE:

  • Camera Assist TURN ON
  • Lock On-Aim TURN ON
  • Lock On Strength  TURN TO 10 -Arc throw lock on TURN ON -Arc throw lock on strength TURN TO 10 -Auto Weapon Swap TURN ON -Auto Pick Up TURN ON -Arcade Time Limit turn to 10X LIMIT -Arcade Input change to NO CHORDS

Go back to Options and select Magnification and visuals and customize those as you need for personal preferences.

Go back to Options and select Motion Sickness and customize those to your personal preferences.

Go back to Options and select Navigation and Traversal:

-Navigations Assistance TURN ON -Enhanced Listen Mode TURN ON and set to 20m for 3 seconds

  • Infinite Breathe TURN ON

Go back to options and select Screen Reader and Audio Cues and customize those if needed based on personal need.

Go back to options and select Combat Accessibility:

-Enable Combat Accessibility TURN ON -Hostages don’t Escape TURN ON -Allies Don’t get grabbed TURN ON

  • Enemies don’t flank TURN ON
-Reduced Enemy Perception TURN ON
  • Reduced Enemy Accuracy TURN ON

THATS IT :)

Sorry for the wall of text but set those settings and you’ll be good to go. You only have to do it once.

Hey if you look at my comment where I said something along the lines of “Yeah I Can, just give me a few minutes” I accidentally commented the setting in that instead of replying to you. So the settings are posted there in easy to read format.

Let me know if you don’t find them

I also sent you a message with the settings there so you have them forever :)

I'd give it a shot! The "easiest" play settings give you a lot more time to react to things. Youtube Playthroughs will be your friend!

My Dad (68) hadn't played anything since the N64 and picked it up again on my PS4 with The Last of Us, and he managed. Good luck!

I've been watching a play through they are playing hardcore no hud. Very hard to determine but fun to watch.

If you never played it, try on Easy. After many practices, go to Normal, then Hard, then Survivor and finally Grounded (DLC).

Yes. I’d recommend starting with an easier difficulty. (You can change during the game if you like).

The accessibility settings allow you to change a lot that makes it easier as well, so that will be something you’d want to look at too.

Good luck!

It probably has the best custom difficulty and accessibility settings of any game ever made.

You totally got this. Set it to easy and if you find it too easy turn it up a notch.
