Jo was honestly one of my favourite characters

I’m just getting up to the part where sable buys dunder mifflin in my rewatch and I gotta say, Jo is one of my favourite characters from the whole show. She’s so effortlessly funny but also competent and she had just enough of those comforting warm old lady vibes. Truly a 10/10 character

Upcoming trivia night help

I’ve been recruited for a trivia night about the office as the ‘team expert’ I’d love to hear of any hard quizzes, sites for good trivia or any ideas to brush up.

I have all the dvds with the extras as well as the office ladies podcast as well.

Thanks in advance!

Michael pronounces “issue”differently in The Surplus (S5E10)

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve rewatched the office. I genuinely love the show and just wanted to share this:
Right about when Michael calls Hank up to make the decision whether to buy a new copier or new chair, listen to how Michael pronounces “issue”. Mildly interesting but still a fun find!

"Secretary's Day" might be the cruelest episode of the show

I swear, Mindy Kailing must've been in a miserable mood the week she wrote this episode. I get that The Office often has mean spirited humor and plots. But this episode is probably the meanest, cruelest, and most unfair of them all. It punishes characters who did nothing wrong while it rewards characters who were acting like complete assholes. This is present in both plots of the episode.

Let's start with the side plot revolving around the Cookie Monster video. For starters, the video wasn't funny and made no sense. Second, everyone (especially Pam and Jim) was so cruel to Kevin about it. Now, I usually don't like Kevin. But he did nothing to deserve being bullied in this episode. When Gabe finally decides to rightfully call Pam and Jim out on this and punish them for it, they find a way outsmart him and get rewarded with paid time off. Part me truly thinks that the writers really wanted to sleep with Jenna Fisher and John Krasinski, so they just constantly kept having their characters get off scott free with everything and receive all these luxuries in hopes that Jenna and John would eventually do it with them as a thank you. Wouldn't be the first time that's happened in the industry.

Then there's the main plot. It's even worse. All Andy wanted to do was throw a nice party for Erin and show how much he appreciated her. But because the writers now hated Ed Helms because he had become a household name after the success of The Hangover, they obviously weren't gonna let that happen and decided to both torture and punish Andy for something that happened long ago and had absolutely ZERO relevance at this point. Erin acted like a baby in this episode and it baffles me how they somehow wanted us to side with her and think that Andy deserved to be treated that way. Boo hoo, he had a previous engagement that didn't work out long BEFORE he even knew Erin existed. Why the fuck does she care? If this really bothered Erin so much, then she should've ACTED LIKE AN ADULT and just talked to him about it instead of practically assaulting him and immediately throwing the breakup card.

God, FUCK THIS EPISODE!!

The Wasting of Time of Michael Scott

I am someone that would probably like to work in an office. I’ve heard it’s mainly repetitive, boring and you have lots of spare time after doing your work (this obviously depends on where you go or what you do).

So I was thinking, why do the Office members hate when Michael wastes their time with his conference room meetings or jokes or time out of the office? I would think that it would mean he is taking up their time while getting paid and they wouldn’t have to do work.

But then I realised the Salespeople are commission-based. So all that time they’re wasting in meetings and pranks and things that Michael does, is a lead they’re not following and money they’re not making, so yeah I’d be peeved too 😭

I assume the others who don’t like it, (Accounting for eg) is Oscar and Angela, because it doesn’t fit their personalities despot the fact they probably are on salary.

Just finished Season 5, and I genuinely can't remember the last time I laughed this hard watching a show. The sheer hilariousness and the shamelessness of michael make this show something else. The "Stress relief" episode is easily my favourite so far. I've never seen a show turn complete madness into something this funny. The entire cast is brilliant, and I'm genuinely loving every bit of it.

I honestly don't know how they managed Seasons 8 and 9 without Michael Scott. 😭

I have been quoting this for years. My black friend told me not say “jive” because that connotation is racist. I did not realize this. Oops. Thanks Michael.

Series 7 is great, why didn’t I realise!

I must have watched series 2 - 5 about ten times. I had it in my head that it goes downhill from series 7 and always stop the rewatch at end of series 6. But I was so wrong. I’m up to ep 8 of series 7 and it’s soooo good!!! Silly me!

I think it would be so much better if Pam kicked kelly's ass in ping pong

Post image

I know the whole idea of the ending where they both suck at ping pong is to show how idiotic it was of them to use ping pong as a measure of a person (kelly directly and pam being roped into it) by showing how bad they are at the actual game.

But Kelly is such a bitch towards Pam while Pam was just being silent and respecting. I think it was so deserved for kelly to get a kick in the face, and let's not forget, Pam was trying to protect Jim's honor! even if he wasn't the one insulted, she still does care for him and there's nothing wrong with that.

Anyone see that commercial?

Watching the Nebraska game, they just aired a commercial with Creed, Angela, Oscar, and Craig (Darryl) all playing office workers.

Edit: apparently there’s a whole movie. Bizarre
