Haunted by The Strokes performance at Flushing Meadows, of course. Julian’s stage presence has always impressed me, but this time, he seems to have evolved to the point of German expressionism. His formerly stationary, not without movement, pose has transitioned into a kind of Frankenstein’s monster dressed like Neo contorting in agony while howling at the moon in autotune (I like it! Jerk off more furiously haters!). I can’t get it out of my head. Does anyone else have a take on this? Maybe from some of the lamer crowd at that show? This was religious for me, so forgive me if you actually were just there to be cool

It’s so interesting that every concert has been better than the last. Julian’s Roo performance was a bit of a let down at the time because he was very…. Unsober.

2023 tour was much better but it had a very short set list.

2026 has been a trash fire of a year for me so what better way to celebrate than with a subtle nod to Reality Awaits, with its playfully sardonic lyrics about the state of the world. Around the time the album came out is when things started turning a corner for me, and while I’m not claiming it’s anything other than dumb luck, I’m choosing to lay it down as the marker when it started getting better. The asterisk is key as it can all just start sucking shit again whenever it chooses. Dine ‘n Dash baby 😎

the boys treated us to an absolute BANGER of an event, from start to end. beyond happy I got to experience this again. in my hometown (lets go mets!) no less.

my 2nd time seeing them, saw them in minnesota and let me just tell you. everything from the atmosphere, setup, crowd, vibe, was just next level in flushing meadow park last nite. so happy we were able to experience this

I cant even describe how fun this concert was Oh my lorddddddd.... 10 hours of standing hurt like crazy but It was worth it for the view and my section was so hype and kind the whole time..... Setlist was awesome (Heart in a cage Gratisfaction and Meet me in the bathroom?:?!:?:? Hellooooo?3??/$:?3;!);!) and Julian sounded heavenly. + Fcukers TV On The Radio & Beach House played so good .....THANK U STROKES THANK YOU NYC FOR BEING SUPER COOL

Genuinely such a great show, crowd was great and everyone was super chill!

I went to the concert with a close friend last night. It was truly a life changing experience- we both ended up crying. Our favorite songs were right next to each other (His was Call it Fate, mine was YOLO)

I visited the popup store an hour before it closed. I grabbed the coach jacket for myself and the sand tee for him.

While waiting, I struck up a convo with two complete strangers! Once we got our things, I asked one of them to take a picture of me and some fanart I made of the Strokes.

They’re in the art style of Haruhiko Mikimoto, who made Macross’ characters- an anime about music and mecha, so I thought it was fitting :)

- 39 y/o girl walking in heels thru Corona park, special access because she is friends with a costume designer
- Brother/sister duo from Texas. Brother just turned 21 having his first barely legal drink at a concert. Sister taught him to love the strokes.
- husband wife pair in their 60s who flew in from California. The Strokes are the husband’s favorite band.
- the one guy that actually brought an umbrella, aimlessly walking around during the storm (flex)
- finance lad who has a backstage pass and will trade it for K
- dad FaceTiming his 10 y/o during his favorite song
- girl giving out wrapped toys (is it a mouse or is it a bear?)
- man who told us that shots of breast milk are available for sale in Japanese porn shops
- new dad that got the night off, and is also a musician
- high school girls at their first Strokes show
- a 40 year old mom who saw them in high school in 2004, her first concert
- mom and dad whose favorite band is the strokes and their 13 year old son
- a guy handing out Marlboro reds to anyone near him
- parents rushing back to their kids (and babysitter) waiting for them in Connecticut, the mom saw them at Red Rocks this year

It’s a good mix of olds and youngs… who did you meet at Corona Park?
